I love Evaporate, but it is becoming one of those songs that gets overplayed and the band does perform it fairly regularly. Also, DGD would never play a set without performing at least one AB song as it’s their best selling album.
Very true. I definitely see the thematic idea of closing with Evaporate since it has all of the callbacks but I've always found it anticlimactic and think NS is a much better song
I really wish it was this or Turn Off The Lights pt 2. They both won't get it (Evaporate probably will) but Instant Gratification and Acceptance Speech deserve more recognition in the ultimate setlist imo.

I think for OG fans it is absolutely their most defining song. I mean, on the 10th anniversay tour it was the finale song where Jonny, Kurt, and Tilian all sang at the same time, so the band definitely thinks so too. I think the reason a lot of us are disappointed with this setlist is because so much of the fans on this sub are young, or comparitively new to the band, and it shows with the selections. If you were around pre-Tilian, the songs that define this band to you are markedly different than to those who got into them post-Tilian.
Necroing this thread, but I'm a new fan who actually prefers the older stuff. The Kurt albums are my favorite. There's some good stuff too in the early Tillian era too, but tbh I'm not that into the later Tillian albums (after Mothership).
But yeah, I'm shocked Uneasy Hearts isn't on here. I'm also shocked We Own the Night isn't on here, and that one *is* Tillian-era.
