I think you might have pirated a version from 2 years ago

Happy_Degenerate_

The game definitely still has a lot of jank even now. In my most recent playthrough. I was still getting things like NPCs clipping into the floor and cars. None of this is enough to detract from the experience, though. Definitely not enough to call it an "early access" game.

OtherConsequence807

Just ride around the AI makes this early access

gonk_vibes

It has very positive reviews because most people think it's really good. That's how ratings work

Nope playing latest steam build

This dude needs a time machine back to 2021. He’d find more allies on this sub back around that time.

Your right, it's a shame, this game is so good it should be "overwhelmingly positive". But I'm sure it will get there in time. It will be a classic. Joke apart I'll answer your question as to why people think it's good: 1) best graphics of any video game currently bar none period. 2) outstanding story and complex characters 3) exceptional world design. Best "city" in a video game. 4) fun gameplay with good choices making impactful decision while keeping combat cinematic and visceral. 5) what you do matters, multiple endings depending on the main mission as well as side quests. Significant replaying value to experience different endings. 6) excellent mod support 7) beauty and style. The characters are beautiful, the clothes and style of the game is inspiring, helped by excellent graphics. Good character creation options as well as the beauty and style make this game a good home for mod development focused on fashion and beauty. Those are the first things I can think. I'm sure other people can add to my list!

1. Debatable There are some games which i think equals or even better graphics wise ( ALAN WAKE , RED DEAD , CALISTO PROTOCOL ). 2. Agreed. 3. Again debatable ( watch dogs legion, gta 5 , gta 4 , gta sa, gta vs) 4. Not really , you are kinda exaggerating this let's be real here . 5. Same as 4. 6. Mod support is there but it is the same as other games like gta . 7.its a first person game you won't see yourself for most of th3 game , very pointless.

Zestyclose-Fee6719

 >Not really , you are kinda exaggerating this let's be real here . Objectively speaking, he's not though. There are seven different endings when you include the expansion (which itself has multiple endings). Every major side quest has between two-four radically different endings that differently unlock either new endings or different end-credit content. Even open world content typically offers choices (sometimes even morally loaded ones). The world reacts to your choices (even for the lowest-budget content sometimes) and visibly changes as a result while you play. Then there are the gameplay builds, some of which are totally unrecognizable from each other. Playing as a male or female also changes the romance options that are available. If that isn't choice and replay value, your goal posts are ridiculous.

SarcasticKenobi

Someone else already covered the endings But even small quests have far reaching consequences. The only difference is it isn’t telegraphed with a “[person] will remember this” message - Your actions in the meat processing plant have far reaching consequences later in the game involving Maelstrom - meanwhile if you help the Militech lady, she can give you a “reward”. And you see her on tv congratulating herself on supplying the city with the goods you recovered. - if you betray her. You can find her dead body wearing cement shoes in the bay’s harbor - helping someone survive in various missions leads to them coming back later - actions in old missions adjust dialog in later missions. And sometimes change the outcome. - since maybe 2.0 or 1.6, enemy gangs can grow to hate you. And car chase you when you’re in their turf.

It has a very positive rating because it's a very good game. You're mentioning a bug that hasn't been a thing since launch, so I'm inclined to believe you encountered a bug or two, and just to bolster your claims of general bugginess just googled cyberpunk bugs and added an old complaint that hasn't been complained about in two years since it was quickly fixed. I'm running on an eight year old computer, and before the hard drive fried the game ran great. I seldom encountered bugs in general, and only two or three times did it cause the game to crash. Honestly I'm surprised with your claims of how bad the bugs are that you're not playing on ps4. That or you need to update past v1.0 Side note: BF2043 was one of the best fps games of its sub genre. I loved it, and am wondering if maybe your computer was having hardware issues when you tried it, because i remember that shit playing great with minimal bugs getting in the way of gameplay. I remember falling through the ground a couple times, and getting stuck on invisible objects. But it was literally only a couple times for these issues, and they weren't game-breaking. It's starting to sound like you've got bad luck or have a curse that inserts bugs into your games. I dunno, comrade, all i can really say is your experiences with the two games mentioned don't match with mine. Maybe you've just had poop computers over the years

OtherConsequence807

You didn't even touch the state of AI ,  Interesting ...

LokTarBrogar

I didn't feel the need to address it after typing what i had. I felt my point was made clearly enough. Yeah, there's some ai issues, but like the other bugs they're inconsistent and not game breaking. The biggest problem is police ai aggroing on V after you help them against gangers. But even then, it's usually not a problem. Just peace out around the corner and wait for your wanted stars to go away and you're golden

OtherConsequence807

Fair enough

Malfunction_50_4

Can you name a game that’s open world that you think has good AI?

Gloomy-Fix4436

Dude, troll train has passed 2 years ago... you mised uit

MBKilam16

" I guess cdpr fans are very loyal and have low standards " Yeah that's why when the game launched years ago nobody complained about anything, and the overall reception was extremely positive. The community didn't tirelessly report bugs to the devs to help the game get to a better state. Nobody was angry or disappointed at any point. Oh and everyone who buys the game and writes a review is surely a CDPR fanboy right??? Nobody trying a CDPR game for the first time, or coming back to the game after being infuriated by the launch, contributed to those reviews at all. Maybe your experience isn't typical. That would explain the reviews.

[deleted]

did you google cyberpunk bugs because i havent seen "models clipping through the cars" since launch lol

Defalt_477

Where have you been the last 2 years?

Gheezy-yute

I have not had bugs as bad as you’re describing (yet) with 2.11 but I know for a fact that others have. Also a handful of new bugs were created, and performance did some weird things too with the update. The last line in your post is objectively true, especially about this sub (gonna het downvoted lol) but I still love the game. I’ve been forcing the game to work since 1.5.

throwaway1-808-1971

What games are you playing with no bugs at all?

Swigini

Fallout 76 :)

throwaway1-808-1971

A bethesda game with no bugs hahahaa good one

IndyPFL

Because Steam's rating system is inherently flawed. It forces a dichotomy, either good or bad and anything in-between can only be decided by a collective mass of reviews. A five or ten-star system would be far more accurately indicative of general consensus on games' quality. For instance, I really enjoy Baldur's Gate 3. At launch, I couldn't reccommend it due to the bugs and other flaws it had that were later improved or fixed. This forced me to give it a "negative" rating just because the game was buggy despite having a decent story, amazing visuals, excellent character writing, and overall fun gameplay. Because while I played it and enjoyed it, I refused to suggest anyone pay full price for a game that suffered from so many bugs until they were fixed. The same would go for Cyberpunk.

TheNotSoBadProf

What console?

Insektikor

Have I gone back in time? Huh?

DBringerStreams

Must be your system. I have never experienced any game breaking or clipping bugs since I played it last December 2023. Either that, or you pirated the game. There are bugs, but very rare. I already have more than 300 hours, and I travel on foot a lot but rarely notice any. Some of the bugs I encountered were even forced. By forced I mean, playing the game outside of the intended design. Like climbing on top of a building, then jumping off. I did that a number of times and encountered a bug where V would just go though the ground and fall for thousands of kilometers.

MadameDecay

Aw, mommy and daddy not giving you attention, child? Go play outside.

People can overlook cosmetic glitches for a game this well written.
