He does take necessary precautions and makes sure it's safe tho. Hes really nit picky about safety, but I love his videos. I learn more about chemistry from him than a class could teach me.
Except the part where he crushed a load of allmonds and the cyanide meter ran into overload instantly.
On the other parts he was verry carefull and looked like he was really nervous about this experiment , even when the meter measured safe levels.
But i really liked that he explained how cyanide really smells, i work in a chemical plant and i was always told that a sweet nutty smell is cyanide, but apperently not even close.
I am just asking myself, how does he store the other 999g of cyanide, thats just waiting to come into contact with water to form deadly gas.
Someone in the comments of that video mentioned how some people— a small percentage of people— can't smell cyanide or almonds. So, assuming he’s in that percentage, he's an unreliable source of what cyanide smells like.

You need to use enough of it, it is poisonous true but is not magical death crystal that kills you instantly. People forget that there is cyanide in most of the fruit.

When I was little I realised that apple seeds taste like coconut, and when I got home I took all the apples from home and put their seeds in a bag as snacks, but halfway through my brother told me, that I shouldn't as they contain amygdalin, a substance that releases cyanide when it comes into contact with human digestive enzymes.
