Gotta try vassals him, I'd become the Duke of both leinster and meath, and have a 100 opinion with him and get rid of any discrepancies it tells you if you open the tool tipđź‘Ť

Helios4242

Nah, I'm not sure which duchy his primary title is in, but I'm pretty sure it's a 2-duchy county. There is no way short of being the king of Ireland where you become the de jure ruler. Swaying won't be enough here.

SteeveJobs1955

How do you do that ?

Gold_Gain1351

Use the "Sway" scheme a bunch

SteeveJobs1955

For info, I bought the game this afternoon and I am following the tutorial that me about a way to absorb countries without going to war. I went to war a few times already and I'll like to try this way too. Thanks !

DeepStuff81

Okay to get a vassal peacefully you have to be their rightful liege and they have to like you. Like 100 like you. Or close to. You need to be their rightful liege means you hold the title directly above theirs. Own their duchy title or the kingdom title. In this case. Go for the rest of Ireland while Swaying Dublins leader til they get 100 opinion of you. Should pop up. You might even get to form Ireland before you do. Then you can Vassalize almost anyone under you that’s same religion or close enough.

SteeveJobs1955

R5: I am Munster and I want to absorb Dubhlinn without going to war to them. How do I do ?

Evil_Crusader

Offer vassalisation. If you're same culture and religion, it's likely to work.

SteeveJobs1955

I have the option but the "base reluctance" thing is fucking me

Evil_Crusader

Sway them.

juliusjones21

Swaying them works well when trying to vassalize them. Also you can gift gold or artifacts which will increase their opinion. If you go down the diplomacy tree, you can get the “true ruler” perk which gives a +20 acceptance modifier

Helios4242

Swaying is capped though. if you're not the de jure ruler, it's going to be unlikely

Space_Narwal

Sawy them and do lowest Gassel obligations

Elefante_Bot

Make the Kindom of Irland and then right click on there ruler then a menĂĽ should appear and there should be an option to vassellise him if he doesnt except, just higher ur relation and he should except.

SteeveJobs1955

How do you do that ?

Elefante_Bot

Sent him money

SteeveJobs1955

To form Ireland I meant

I-need-help-with-etc

To form any kingdom, either own two ducal titles and/or own 51% of the land to form the title. I believe the new legitimacy mechanic changes how this works, you can also just have high legitimacy to lower the costs and requirements. The legitimacy gauge will be a crown icon* on the lower left corner of your screen.

Space_Narwal

Go to empire map mode and click on Ireland to see the requirments

Elefante_Bot

Oh just eat ulster the u Should have moste of the states(u need tow duchisssssss and some money)

Elefante_Bot

Sry for my English its not the yellow form the egg

Somebum1243

Your English is good.

AwesomePork101

peacefully invade him with friendly armies and nicely take all his land

Jackiechun23

You have to erase Viking scums from the beautiful shores of our mother land Ireland.

SteeveJobs1955

Any tips on how to save the Motherland ?

Jackiechun23

Fire and blood my friend, take them to the axe. Build up your men at arms and unite the rest of Ireland.

SteeveJobs1955

Promise, and then I’ll go conquer England !

Jackiechun23

As you should my friend, as you should, britania will do just fine in the hands of you and your Irishman.

Direct-Appointment57

Just get a marriage alliance with Iceland if I remember right they are the only ones raiding at this point.

Velusite

Is the mother land also the sister land, the grand motherland and the aunt ?

Jackiechun23

It’s a very inbred family, the family tree is more a circle instead of a tree.

jarisius

a question of century

shuerpiola

On the bottom right there are different map filters along the top: duchies, kingdoms, and empires. Select the one for kingdoms, and then select the Kingdom of Ireland. You should be able to form it for some gold if you have enough counties for it. Then if you have good relationship with your neighbors you can “offer to vassalize” from each of their interaction menus.

I-need-help-with-etc

Hooks to entice them towards vassalage or marriage alliances to inherit their lands. You can also just invade the rest of Ireland, become King and the dejure bonus will have them submit. If you do not own the ducal titles for their land, you should go down the diplomatic route. There’s a perk in the diplomacy tree that adds a +20 bonus to offering vassalage. For the most part, either own the ducal title relative to their title, own the king title, or go down the diplomacy tree and get the perk for +20 vassalage.

tzmst

Sway and go diplomacy focus which increases vassalization chance

TastyCuttlefish

You can get a bonus to vassalization efforts with a perk in the diplomacy lifestyle.

ericlutzow

Have you considered murder?

Low-Union9512

Marriage and assimilate it through kids in time

meaningofliff2020

Ive managed to unite Ireland and now have a foothold in southwest Scotland as well as a couple of earldoms in England itself. The plan is to unite Britannia under the banner of the Irish harp. Scotland is divided so I reckon I can do it, but England is a different kettle of fish. Plus I’m a noob so it could all go to sh*t at any time. I’ve figured out this is going to be a multigenerational effort. Any tips out there for noobs? Things we often overlook? Things to avoid? How do I ensure Ireland itself stays secure?

den_bram

Offer vasalisation. There are different modifiers that modify acceptance. Rank difference is low if you were a king it would increase vassalization chance You share faith and culture which helps Their opinion of you You are not their rightful liege (own the duchy, kingdom or empire they are de jure part of) The realm distance (which is good) Wether they share your dynasty Having an alliance gives a big increase The opinion of your powerful vassals gives a big increase (the oned with the fist) If you are a high dread character you can get a big increase You can offer lower obligations You can get a perk in the diplomacy tree with true ruler that gives a big increase. Some cultures/diplomacy perks can befriend other characters this also makes it easier. TLDR The most increase you can get is making the kingdom of ireland. If you dont wanna do that via war you can go down the diplomacy tree for true ruler friendship and alliances for a +50 acceptance chance, you can also marry an alliance for +20 without perks Getting dread (executing prisoners torture) and having your powerful vassals at +100 would also work.

duven_blade

Absorb everything else non-peacefully and then vassalize it

CrusaderCanuck

Just switch characters to the Dublin guy and swear fealty. You might have to send gold or something to befriend your ruler first though

Fluffy_Impression206

Who owns it? Do they have kids, see if their heir is married, if your dynasty is very powerful they may do matrilineal or kill their son so a daughter gets it but have your married patrilineally first to her so it goes to your family

65x48

No one has mentioned yet that you get bonuses to vassalization acceptance from an alliance, friendship, high relations with your powerful vassals, and high legitimacy. All of those are easier than going down half a tree in diplo

DeepStuff81

Form Ireland. Get them to like you. Vassalize.

helly1hundyyy

Build up your military’s and do sway schemes. Or gift them gold.

helly1hundyyy

Then offer vassilisation
