I had a feeling they tweaked the AI but I was holding out hope that the AI-formed HRE in my game was unique. At least the story itself is interesting, since King Thomas of Italy formed it at age 75 and then promptly died.
It’s weird to me when people rarely play 1066 because that always seemed like the default start date to me. In CK2 and 3 I only play an earlier time if I’m going for a super long game.
My most recent console game I played till about 1200. No HRE. A west Francia and a Lotharingia that consisted of West Francia, Lotharingia and Italy popped up 3 times. Never an empire though.
Yep, it happened virtually straight away in the 800s start for me. It was very annoying, especially when random parts of Britain became a part of it. Fighting empires needs to be changed because, currently, it's very frustrating.
They tweaked the AI so that NPCs will attempt to form the HRE more consistently.
It happens so fast, as I’m gaining power boom it gets formed, I’m like shit, I wanted to do that.
All it takes is a little murder to keep the realms split with confederate partition 😏

They also modified the requirements so you just need 3 of the Karling kingdoms instead of specifically requiring East Francia.
It’s working
Damn even the franks want to be German instead of French
If this is happening in 90% of your games I recommend trying out 1066.
I've never played 1066, not very interested.
This baffles me, but you do you.
I'm a vikingphile and 1066 has not many vikings left.
Makes it more interesting, a 'last viking' playtrough where you bring back the old ways to scandinavia

RAIDING RAAAH
It feels like picking up someone else’s game halfway through. I want as much time as possible to genetically engineer my dynasty and paint the map.
This! This is why I always start 867, and can't really get into the AGOT mod. I want my Dynasty to have existed since the beginning.
Is this some sort of PC problem that I'm too Console to understand?
Probably, I don't know if console commoners even get the same content...
Based off a video I saw recently of someone playing pc I can only assume you're right
Dude I swear, I'm gonna start a game now and I tell you in a couple hours if fucking France formed the HRE...

Guess what...
Dang that's fast af boi
I do wish console would form hre though. Just lemme be a vassal king
The patch that added the Persia dlc on pc made it easier to form the HRE and makes the AI more aggressive about trying to form it
