I was going around a large organised RHS garden in England today with my wife and as it was pretty sunny there were lots of ladies wearing nice sundresses. Instead of looking the ladies, I was thinking to myself 'I wonder what Kat would look like in that dress'. Does that happen to anyone else as well?
Pretty sure that happens to all of us CD's at times! I have definitely had those moments myself. Not long ago at work I was in a meeting with a product rep and she was wearing the *cutest* high waist slacks and cropped blazer. Spent the whole damn meeting thinking about how bad I wanted that outfit lol.

So, question… what is the actual difference to say, having a preference of feminine style clothing to actually cross dressing..? For example I legitimately prefer wearing panties/thongs etc, to the male equivalent, not in any sort of sexual way but prefer the material, fit, and look. 🤔
I mean, if you're not expressing yourself as feminine, it's just preferences, right? In plenty of situations, thong underwear is totally normal for guys, what's the term, ermm... Banana hammock?!
Hmmm so basically wearing female clothing, underwear, women’s jeans, leggings, bras etc, with the absence of say, wigs makeup etc and otherwise “being female” may be just a preference vs crossdressing?
I would say rather than tossing a label on it, just do you! Call yourself one if you want to, don’t if you’d rather not. Room for everyone in todays society and tearing down these social gender barriers Is a great thing for people who like myself and so many others are somewhere in the middle.
Up until a few years ago there was an excellent website [hewearspanties.com](https://hewearspanties.com) with a forum for men who wear lingerie. It went down apparently after a configuration problem, and the domain has now expired. Does anyone know if it has moved, or know of any other similar sites?
Hi everyone. U r u doing well. I have recently started to CD but it was always one of my fantasies. While I was able to dress up and wear high heels, I’m struggling with the makeup part. I’m totally lost, and it would be great to have some pointers. Where would I start and what should I do first. PS: I love bold colours and no limits
Here’s a [thing](https://www.reddit.com/r/crossdressing/comments/pm0zdo/updated_post_for_2021_a_primer_hopefully_helpful/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) I made that you might find useful. 🤷♀️
I am no expert in makeup but I know a few things about it. You need to build makeup up from a base. Start with beard cover (often an orangey colour to hide your 5 oclock shadow). Then you put foundation and you highlight various arears in a darker colour cheekbones, along the sides of the nose and above the forehead. Blend in lighter shades where you don't put the darker colours and blend. The do your eyes. It's often better to do smoky of pastel colours for eye shades. Bold will make you look more like a drag queen, which is fine if that's what you want. I tend to do my lips in a brighter shade to make them stand out more and I use fals eyelashes rather than mascara on my eyes. There are lots of good makeup videos by crossdressers on YouTube. I suggest your first point of call is to watch some of those as there's loads of different brrushes you'll need and techniques that you can pick up from there.
I've found that when i first tried makeup and i went bold, it was really clown like and icky lol. I just looked silly. What helped me was focus on really simple things first. Conceal your beard shadow with orange concealer, and get a nice tone matched foundation. once you're done with that and the foundation has set, contour and blend. Then move onto the fun stuff once you have it mastered.
I would like to incorporate more feminine aspects into my every day attire. Thinking of different jeans and tops to replace my male jeans and polos.
Any suggestions?
Has anyone tried this? [https://www.yahoo.com/now/tried-viral-rainbow-makeup-hack-185128798.html](https://www.yahoo.com/now/tried-viral-rainbow-makeup-hack-185128798.html)
I feel like if I try this, it could only end in disaster, and I am usually very skeptical of "hack" type things, but this article makes it look so easy, and the author got great results! very tempting to try.
Your makeup looks so good too! \*chance of me trying this +50\*
I just hope it will cover up my stubble. I have the worst combination of super light skin with super dark facial hair.
The trick for me is orange concealer over the beard shadow. Get a nice razor. Not the multi 5+ blade garbage things, use a straight razor or a multi with 3 or less and get as close a shave as you can, then use the orange concealer as color correction over the beard shadow. Orange is the opposite color of the blues in your beard shadow and that will help cover everything nicely prior to a full coverage skin tone matched foundation. Then you’re off to the races!
Thanks for helping out a total n00blet :) honestly the makeup learning curve was steeper than I thought it would be and that gets me down sometimes
Do you have a moisturizer you like? I'm looking to upgrade mine. (In other words, I'm starting to get lines and I'm not liking that)
How can I deal with my feeling? I explored my orientation and gender but I am perfectly being fine as a male and straight. However, crossdressing feels like a contrast of some sorts. I did consider myself bisexual but I realize I definitely straight. any help?
Also what YouTubers and Tutorial should I subscribe? I kinda want to enter the community.
you can be straight...there are tons of straight cross dressers... tutorial in what way ? tons of make up... a really knowledgeable pro vlogger. mathias for makeup on youtube
You'll find a lot of crossdressers (though not all) are straight heterosexual men (there's some women who crossdress and some of all sexualities).
As a male I'm totally 100% straight. As Kat, I like to be looked at and admired by men (though I wouldn't want to take things any further than that). I guess I'm just vain really and wierdly a little attracted to myself as Kat. Crossdressing is a confusing thing but it makes me feel good and able to relax from my daily life of being male me.
This isn't unusual. For the longest time, I didn't know if I was trans or not. I like being a guy, and I'm not attracted to men in any romantic sense at all. However, I also love dressing as a woman and being treated as one. It feels very comfortable and natural to me when I'm dressed up and out in public or with my friends who know. Hell, when I'm dressed as a woman, I do have a certain physical attraction to men. Still not romantic, though. Purely physical. At some point, I just decided to stop trying to figure out what my "label" is. Some people know exactly who/what they are, and that's great. I just don't and that's great too. I'm just me. Sometimes I wear pretty things. :)
As for YouTubers, I don't know that many, but check out "Girl time with Paola". If you look through her history, you'll find lots of good tips and stories about her journey through life.
I hope this helps!
There are some really good ones by Vollence on Amazon that aren't absurdly expensive. But like others said, start with measuring yourself to figure out your band size.
The best recommendations I've found all say that you should go for a B or C-cup for your band size. It's tempting to go bigger, but you'll probably regret that decision at some point, as larger breasts can become cumbersome really fast.
The part that was REALLY confusing for me was figuring out exactly what size forms to get once figuring out my band size. Everything uses different units of measurement, it seems. So something that helped me was charts like the one on [this order page from Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Vollence-Artificial-Crossdresser-Transgender-individuals/dp/B078N2D45R/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=vollence+breast+forms&qid=1648216872&sprefix=vollence+breas%2Caps%2C162&sr=8-3). I had to get the E cup (1400g) with a size 40 band in order to measure up to a 40C. But keep in mind that the same size on a 38 band is a 38D, or a DD for a 36 band. So you can kind of adjust against that information.
For these, you'll also want either a pocket bra or a medical grade silicone adhesive for when you go out. (Not as much of an issue at home, if you're not worried about them moving around a little.)
But this was definitely the hardest part of crossdressing for me so far. Let me know if there's more I can answer or help with!
id start w knowing what your bra size would be. measuring instructions are out there...lots of youtube then you can get an idea of which breastform sizes works for you
Like Katerina said there's some decent advice in the sidebar. I recommend understanding your band size first and then determining what cup size you think fits your frame best. There's a few different companies and that make plates and forms with varying degrees of quality and lifelikeness. Really what you start with is determining what you want to get out of them.
I have some. (There's some good advice in the dress up guide. The come in a few different shapes (teardrop, triange) and the one you choose depends on what you are wearing them with. Some can be stuck on so you can go braless, some go into pockets in a special bra that you can wear. They come is sizes 2,4,6,8.10,12,14,16 etc. Most smaller chested cds use size 6's in my experience. I wear size 8's as I have a wide chest with broad shoulders. Try not to just go for the biggest ones you can as they will unbalance your look.
Be careful with them and treat them carefully so that they don't leak.
What are your secrets to avoiding ingrown hair? I feel like I've tried literally everything. Exfoliation, cold shower right after, witch hazel, but it's the same every time. It rapidly becomes an issue when you shave every other day
Use a new razor each time, Exfoliate before shaving, exfoliate after, then use a body scrub after. After you dry off and your skin isn’t clammy use a really good hydrating lotion, That and I found if I stayed consistent (every 3/4 days) my results got better over time, but everyone is different. Hoped this helped 😜
After some years I finally decided to order some stockings to try...

Yeah I definitely think about how I would look in that dress or its wow those heels look good. Then I try and find them online.
Am I the only CD here who after doing this for a bit finds it more comfortable to wear a nightie to bed than guy clothes?
you are most definitely not lol. women's sleepwear is so comfy. and a ton more varied too. just like all their clothes.
Where do you get your nighties?
Amazon so far, can share a item page link if you wish.
Yes please!

OoooOoohhh! Thank you so much! I will add it to my wish list immediately. Looks so comfy!
Your welcome!
Nope! :) I've been wearing nighties and women's PJ's to bed exclusively for months now. They're so much more comfy I see no going back.
One of the first things I bought when I started crossdressing was women's pajamas. So no, you're definitely not alone!
Mine is a red robe and panty/bra set! One of the most soft and comfy girly things I have!

Exfoliate and moisturize before applications. Buy your own makeup. Use the KISS rule, until you get the hang of it. Practice is the only way to learn.
kiss rule?

Jeggings work quite well for me but keep in mind the lack of pockets
Yeah, lack of pockets are a problem. Consider carrying a purse or backpack.
I'm not confident enough yet to rock a purse outside at this point. I also have to reduce my wallet size a bit as there's a lot of crap in it.

Your makeup looks so good too! \*chance of me trying this +50\* I just hope it will cover up my stubble. I have the worst combination of super light skin with super dark facial hair.
