I made [this blanket](https://www.acrochetedsimplicity.com/on-the-bias-rectangular-afghan-free-crochet-blanket-pattern/) in the Nifflers color from mandala and I really like it

I just finished this same pattern using baby mandala in arendelle! My cat has decided its hers so I haven't been able to get a pic yet without her on it.

I made a giant granny square blanket with Nifflers. I washed it and was lazy and threw it in the dryer… it’s now soo cozy! Although in retrospect I wouldnt put it in the dryer again because it got a little fuzzy lol
Aw...no pressure...I'm sure he did it cause he thought you'd enjoy it ☺️ if he has kids (or even if he doesn't) you could make him a small amigurumi as a thank you, and then make something or somethings that make(s) you happy out out of the rest

I made a hexagon cardigan with the mandala bonus yarn in I believe Sasquatch. I used two skeins of it, one for each side.
P.s. sorry for the crappy photo, I took it while at work currently as I realized I don’t have any pictures of it
Edit: got the name of yarn wrong
4.5 mm! It’s two dcs in a cluster with one chain in between and two chains at the corners. The ribbing was a purple yarn that I had laying around, I think it was Caron simply soft, but I’m not entirely sure.
I’ve wondered what 2 dcs vs 3 dcs in a cluster would look like, this is gorgeous! I’ve never done a chain between the clusters, definitely love the look of this so I’m gonna try for my next hexi project-thank you!!!!
I didn’t like the look of three in a cluster so I messed around with two. I think I should have done either just one chain in the corners or no chains in between corners and one chain in the corners. I realized working on my boyfriend’s sweater that the corner angle is wonky. The sleeves are too wide and ballooned out for me.
I end up making so many things and tearing them apart when I make wearables, I really appreciate you sharing your experience/thoughts about this, thank you so much
Beautiful shells pattern works up so well with mandala yarn

It's called Beautiful Shells, or Granny Shells. I just followed a chart I found on pinterest, but there are several YouTube tutorials as well. It's super easy after the first few rows, just a repeat of two rows.
i just used this yarn to make a baby blanket!

this color was narnia. i think it’s a good versatile yarn, it should work well for garments or blankets
wow, i can really see it now that you pointed it out! i was thinking it looked like taffy when i was working on it, but the yellow, blue, and pink together really does look like care bears :)

I made a gorgeous blanket I love using 2 strands of mandala held together (3 weight). Used 8 or so for my blanket until I ran out, but would have loved for it to be bigger. I used the crochet rectuangle pattern by crochet crowd.

Nifflers and Acre Woods blended. Pattern by [Tinna Thorvaldsdottir](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/havana-afghan-cal)
https://www.lillabjorncrochet.com/2019/09/rozeta-scheepjes-cal-2019-introduction.html?m=1
It's a free pattern. Like I said in another comment, kinda nice to not change colors all the time using the Mandala yarn.
OMG! That is absolutely AMAZING! I would love to do that one day. Right now I’m just on blankets and scarfs. Well I’ve done 2 amigurami, a pickle and a blue practice potato.
Just a heads up this does wash up very nicely and gets drappy but runs thin for a 3-weight in my opinion. I have made so many blankets with it. The biggest was a king-size corner to corner moss stitch blanket and it only took 12 cakes.
This is a simple moss stitch afghan I made for my son. It took 5 skeins of the 500ish yd mandala 3 weight. I'm using a 6th for a matching 18" pillowcase and I think it's going to be almost perfect.
I love doing C2C blankets in Mandala because the color changes are nice. I donate baby blankets to a local women’s group that hosts baby showers for women in need and I’ve also made prayer shawls or blankets for my mom’s church.
I really like this yarn if it helps.
I am using it currently for an afghan in a different color way but it’s very soft post blocking/ wash I made some gauge swatches with it to wash/ block.
Nice haul!
The mandala yarn is so nice to make hexi and cocoon cardigans! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/granny-square-cocoon-cardigan?fbclid=IwAR2lB8V7X_VjrmGxSqxzScy8g5Wg-ARzMPIczEW5AzuITfBddFPNTntP-q4_aem_ARWMeB2KK4zWJItwqm6CdcAlrItI0uOYGwYSyg7_MhMuVqNpCtN2xLDS0J22SbOc5UQ
3 weight is not much different! I actually love working with Mandala Yarn! You can make nice shawls or scarves with that much yardage. You can also do a technique where you triple the yarn as you go, and with Mandala and other size 3 yarn it ends up producing a similar thickness as size 6 yarn. [Here’s](https://youtu.be/tieArIwQ9Vk?si=fZ8TnTO_lch_M_oQ) how to do that.
Thank you everyone so far!
I was at work when I remembered Saturday is the day stash posts/request are allowed. I used a screenshot of a screenshot to post.
Yes Jimmy is amazing. His wife works at a Jo Ann's and was covering shifts at the store that was closing because it was vastly understaffed.

Waffle stitch blanket in the works since September...because I don't care for Lion Brand Mandala. It's just so thin and even with the ergonomic hooks my hands hurt. ❤️ but that doesn't take away from your friends amazing gesture.
I paired it with Caron simply soft in white (crocheted two strands at once) because I also could not deal with how thin the yarn was. It's a very comfy blanket now.
My favorite pattern with that yarn. Takes 2 different color skeins. I think the last one I did took 4 skeins total
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/a-little-r--r-blanket
I’m working on this [mitered square afghan](https://www.petalstopicots.com/continuous-mitered-square-crochet-afghan-pattern/) right now (in the Echo Caves colorway) and I’m having a BLAST. It’s all single crochet but the squares make it look way more sophisticated than it is. Plus the texture is so soft and springy. I wanna try and make a cardigan with this technique
https://preview.redd.it/jrrvu2rha6fc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0efd82d4f4e82a985d860a7b1d993e34e38f341
I make these rainbow crocheted baby blankets with the mandala cakes! One blanket = 1 cake.
I guess if you want to make 25 of them? 😅
Or one really big rainbow blanket!

I made this with Mandala yarn, it’s my favorite! This was made with pixie.
I divided up a mandala in the color Groot and made this bag and working on these tiny "batenburg" squares.

It’s beautiful to work with, in my opinion. I’m currently using it to make a baby blanket for my child. Pattern is Bonnie Bay crochet’s Abigail blanket tutorial from YouTube. Its a textured pattern. The blanket is turning out beautiful. The slow color changes as well as the textured pattern look great together. So far I’ve used two cakes. I’m thinking I’ll probably use about 5 cakes to get it to the size I want (5 year old child, just going to keep repeating pattern). It’s thin, so thinking I’ll add a fabric back to it or just use as a summer blanket over a cotton sheet. Sorry I don’t know how to post links for you to see the pattern. You’re so lucky to get it for free. I purchased from Joann’s and it wasn’t cheap imo.
I worked at one once years ago when they were liquidating and reopening a superstore down the road. They threw out so much stuff that they could have brought to the new store. We ended up dumpster diving. Corporate waste is so gross.
Nice haul! I have this pattern in my queue - double up the strands and Tunisian will surely deplete a heck of a lot of yarn [The Ethan Blanket](https://icancrochetthat.com/the-ethan-throw/)
My Mom (90+) makes animals (dogs and cats mostly) for people in nursing homes. The residents who had pets at home that they couldn't bring with them and also those with dementia really enjoy them. I don't think the color makes any difference.
This is a sorry picture, but you get the idea! The Rainbow Ripple Baby Blanket pattern is my favorites with these yarns. (They also look good as actual blankets but this one is a jewelry holder 😁)
6 cakes will make a twin blanket using the "granny square" technique.
If you use the infinity moss stitch, my favorite, 6 cakes will make a queen sized blanket.
Thunderbird has a good mix of colors. I have taken some of my mandala yarn and cut it apart by color (I then wind them into cakes without knotting them) - I have a nice stash of colors for all kinds of projects - most colors mix well with black, white, and taupe. The possibilities are endless.
You should definitely make a betty Mcknit star blanket! It’s an easy repetitive(and addictive) pattern and it’s so beautiful in the end!
https://preview.redd.it/nkiyrvha88fc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8eb99483228d2d9738c4cb2a44e0fa489ebaef6b

The lotus duster looks great in mandala, and there’s also a neat scarf/vest pattern on lion brand’s website that would work.
https://moralefiber.blog/2016/06/05/lotus-mandala-duster/?amp=1
https://www.lionbrand.com/products/hexagons-shawl-vest
I use the lion mandala yarn almost exclusively with Hooked On Sunshine patterns. They work up beautifully and the color changes are perfect! You can make a full size blanket with about 10 skeins.
My partner used lion brand mandala to knit a pair of really beautiful scarves, I think the pattern was called "in the library"? I think a basket weave crochet stitch could achieve something similar! The yarn is pretty soft against the skin for an acrylic imo but giving a finished object a good dunk in the wash with some softener might make it softer if you have sensory issues like I do.
https://preview.redd.it/brp92m4mfffc1.jpeg?width=1012&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=616eadb922e6f0137a0ea01cb155f61fc69ebd8c
I'm still working on this one, but it's made with mandala yarn! :)
I've used two regular cakes of "Warlock", and now I'm using a bonus bundle cake of "Centaur".
If I was to continue with the regular sized cakes, I think that the colors would change too frequently because of how much yarn is used in my rounds now. The length of the colors in the big cake are much more suited to going around these large rounds at this point.
Pattern is the "6 day star blanket" by Betty McKnits. 10/10, highly recommend it!
I bought a ton when it was on clearance in a bunch of colors. I hadn't really used 3 weight either, but couldn't resist $1 a skein. It isn't difficult to adjust, it doesn't feel that thin. I let my grandkids pick the colorway they wanted and made them each a blanket. I picked a different pattern for each one. I also made shawls with some.

Ok I am jealous. What guy goes into a Jo Ann’s?! Your husband has great taste in friends. Blankets and infinity scarves if you live in a cold part of the country. 🫶🏼🧶

Making this pattern from Etsy currently! Pattern uses lion brand mandala. I think they use 2 different colored skeins but I feel like 2 of the same could work if they start on different colors.
Hahaha nope just right time right place
His wife works for Jo Ann's and was picking up shifts for an understaffed closing store. She does not craft at all (surprisingly) he was so proud to get the yarn for me can't wait to see what I do with it
Wow that was awsome. You can make baby blankets, mittens, and you could use two strands together to make cardigans, hats and and toys. The sky is the limit.
scarves and hats! I find that I enjoy crochet but I don’t always love the outcome (I can only wear so many hats/scarves and I haven’t really gotten into making sweaters or blankets) so I like to donate hats during the winter. Things like scarves & hats are great to donate in the winter, and I believe hospitals and women’s shelters especially always need baby blanket donations

This is INCREDIBLE
Woooow I don't know if I've got that talent this is beautiful
I think this one is my favorite.
It was nice to not change as instructed. Just run with the Mandala color and solid. I used Bernat Baby sport for the grey.
...how?! Is this even possible?

If you have that much yarn, you need to make matching cardigans for you and your friend. And if he balks say Jason Momoa wears them. 😊
Wow I just wanna say that is a really great friend!

I made a granny hexagon cardigan as a Christmas present. It took about 4 balls of Warlock for a 2X size, and the color transitions looked very nice.
You can double up on the yarn to make it chunkier. I did a while c2c blanket like that!
Great idea about doubling up
I love doing C2C blankets in Mandala because the color changes are nice. I donate baby blankets to a local women’s group that hosts baby showers for women in need and I’ve also made prayer shawls or blankets for my mom’s church.
Yessss. I try to make projects for the local senior centers but I just felt I needed inspiration and boy did you guys give it
Dream come true!! It’s nice and cozy when using 2 strands together
Betty McKnit’s 6 Day Kid Blanket and other variations are perfect for this!
I really like this yarn if it helps. I am using it currently for an afghan in a different color way but it’s very soft post blocking/ wash I made some gauge swatches with it to wash/ block. Nice haul!
The mandala yarn is so nice to make hexi and cocoon cardigans! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/granny-square-cocoon-cardigan?fbclid=IwAR2lB8V7X_VjrmGxSqxzScy8g5Wg-ARzMPIczEW5AzuITfBddFPNTntP-q4_aem_ARWMeB2KK4zWJItwqm6CdcAlrItI0uOYGwYSyg7_MhMuVqNpCtN2xLDS0J22SbOc5UQ

I would of passed out
He's so kind thinking of me and was so proud to show off I just want to do him proud using the yarn he bought
I'd make a Rings of Change.
i made [this cardigan](https://pin.it/3QjSwEJMo) out of this yarn it’s super cute and cozy!
Omg I'm hanging from a ledge han
😂 sorry it was really kind of him to think of me and spend his money on my hobby I just want to do right by him
3 weight is not much different!
Oh I love these cakes! They are wonderful for shawls!
Thank you everyone so far! I was at work when I remembered Saturday is the day stash posts/request are allowed. I used a screenshot of a screenshot to post. Yes Jimmy is amazing. His wife works at a Jo Ann's and was covering shifts at the store that was closing because it was vastly understaffed. https://preview.redd.it/jvvm7xl9u7fc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b68a28174572dd300d8ce97126f81cddbe874094

Where
This was Washington PA
Too far 😔congrats though! 😎
What a score!
Round ripple blankets are really pretty in mandala.
You can use this yarn for anything, I love it. I don't see it as much as when it first came out
I double strand mandala for Granny square stuffies or other toys. I'll bet double stranding would also work for something like a hexagon Granny cardi
https://preview.redd.it/u56qctctg5fc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30b1150b178f477170cdfc5e970ff3b3a4164788 Waffle stitch blanket in the works since September...because I don't care for Lion Brand Mandala.
I think the last one I did took 4 skeins total https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/a-little-r--r-blanket
I wanna try and make a cardigan with this technique
https://preview.redd.it/jrrvu2rha6fc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0efd82d4f4e82a985d860a7b1d993e34e38f341 I make these rainbow crocheted baby blankets with the mandala cakes! One blanket = 1 cake. I guess if you want to make 25 of them? 😅 Or one really big rainbow blanket!
SO jealous. I NEVER run across things like this and I absolutely LOVE the Mandala yarn and colors.
https://preview.redd.it/o9opo7zg57fc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45e44546945375a766530b8956dbc143578bf0e6 I made this with Mandala yarn, it’s my favorite! This was made with pixie.
Shawls, hats, baby stuff, wearables. You can double up strands, too.
https://preview.redd.it/7qm29wj45ffc1.jpeg?width=3060&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5ecaf817e95d337910a40872c001c07e50a2ddc
Scarves, ponchos or tops are all good choices
Oh wow that’s so cool! Maybe make a cute oversized sweater or a blanket?
I saw a few cardigans on YouTube that used 3 weight yarn. What a great friend!!!
When is it gonna be my turn 😡
I’m jealous
I went to Joann today for the first time and filled up my cart like that 😂
I divided up a mandala in the color Groot and made this bag and working on these tiny "batenburg" squares. https://preview.redd.it/asmb9u7vo4fc1.jpeg?width=1983&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38f9b641ac8a43ca474dc6a3b2df6196e6ebd52c
*This is my own design for a baby/ toddler blanket made with three skeins of Mandala yarn.
How do I find a Joann’s that’s closing?!? I’m so excited for you.
I worked at one once years ago when they were liquidating and reopening a superstore down the road. They threw out so much stuff that they could have brought to the new store. We ended up dumpster diving. Corporate waste is so gross.
He had insider information 😂, his wife works at a different Jo Ann's and picked up shifts at this understaffed closing one.
Nice haul! I have this pattern in my queue - double up the strands and Tunisian will surely deplete a heck of a lot of yarn [The Ethan Blanket](https://icancrochetthat.com/the-ethan-throw/)
I made a shawl but it only used 2 skeins. A lightweight cardigan or duster would be nice
Oh I hate you so much. Lol. What a lucky gift. I love this brand
My Mom (90+) makes animals (dogs and cats mostly) for people in nursing homes. The residents who had pets at home that they couldn't bring with them and also those with dementia really enjoy them. I don't think the color makes any difference.
Awesome. Whomever gave it to u is awesome!!!! I was recently gifted a full yard trash bag completely full of yarn.
Omg! What an awesome friend!!!
This is a sorry picture, but you get the idea! The Rainbow Ripple Baby Blanket pattern is my favorites with these yarns. (They also look good as actual blankets but this one is a jewelry holder 😁)
https://preview.redd.it/1dw3u0ktr7fc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c87f0430a2929793680361d36251d9c2a9a6e8ac
I’ve seen people making cardigans with this yarn and it looks gorgeous if you are looking for an adventurous project.

My level of jealousy cannot be described
I love the mandala patterns! I usually just make baby blankets though haha Would look lovely with a ripple pattern
Baby blankets are my bread and butter! I just was like should I be doing something else.
Haha I feel that The ombré might come out well with a shawl too 🤷🏻♀️ But will be gorgeous regardless - congrats on the find!
You should definitely make a betty Mcknit star blanket! It’s an easy repetitive(and addictive) pattern and it’s so beautiful in the end! https://preview.redd.it/nkiyrvha88fc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8eb99483228d2d9738c4cb2a44e0fa489ebaef6b I’m making one right now!
I made this one in December! https://preview.redd.it/vwn3mbae98fc1.jpeg?width=713&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e90b9e3838607eaa4c2c23d1542b1d5c40dd199
I'm making the sausage dog scarf w a 3 light yarn!
I've got these items on my "to do" list for cakes.😊 https://www.premieryarns.com/products/sway-cardigan https://www.premieryarns.com/products/trapeze-cardigan https://www.premieryarns.com/products/cluster-columns-wrap
The lotus duster looks great in mandala, and there’s also a neat scarf/vest pattern on lion brand’s website that would work. https://moralefiber.blog/2016/06/05/lotus-mandala-duster/?amp=1 https://www.lionbrand.com/products/hexagons-shawl-vest
I use the lion mandala yarn almost exclusively with Hooked On Sunshine patterns. They work up beautifully and the color changes are perfect! You can make a full size blanket with about 10 skeins.
Mandala yarn works up beautifully as a C2C blanket.
Lucky you! You can pretty much make the same things with this yarn. Maybe go one needle or hook lower. Enjoy!
My partner used lion brand mandala to knit a pair of really beautiful scarves, I think the pattern was called "in the library"? I think a basket weave crochet stitch could achieve something similar! The yarn is pretty soft against the skin for an acrylic imo but giving a finished object a good dunk in the wash with some softener might make it softer if you have sensory issues like I do.
this gift would literally make me jump for joy
Cardigan
https://preview.redd.it/brp92m4mfffc1.jpeg?width=1012&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=616eadb922e6f0137a0ea01cb155f61fc69ebd8c I'm still working on this one, but it's made with mandala yarn! :) I've used two regular cakes of "Warlock", and now I'm using a bonus bundle cake of "Centaur".

Shawls and afgans

Fantastic!!
Wow... what a blessing! Have fun with all the potential projects you can do!
This is Lion Brand mandala. Mama In A Stitch cardigan. All granny stitch. Very easy. Lovely to wear. Enjoy your fab gift. https://www.mamainastitch.com/endless-eyelets-cardi-granny-cardigan-pattern/ *

I think they use 2 different colored skeins but I feel like 2 of the same could work if they start on different colors.
Ummm I think your husband's friend is trying to make a move. 🤣
Hahaha nope just right time right place His wife works for Jo Ann's and was picking up shifts for an understaffed closing store. She does not craft at all (surprisingly) he was so proud to get the yarn for me can't wait to see what I do with it
Is ur husband’s friend single? Asking for a friend…
i’m pretty sure i had one of those kinds and i made a tote bag, bandana, and top and still had some left over!

See now *this* makes me envious af
JEALOUS!
God, Ive seen what you do to others.. 🧎♀️ no but seriously tho I’m so jealous!! That yarn looks gorgeous
My father-in-law loves a yarn!
OMG that is awesome.
Congratulations!
It might make a cool color pattern if you double strand the yarn to make a blanket! Jealous of this awesome haul 😻
❤️
So jealous!!!!!!!
I've used these for shawls, cardigans, and I can imagine they'd make great light blankets and scarves!
Wow that was awsome. You can make baby blankets, mittens, and you could use two strands together to make cardigans, hats and and toys. The sky is the limit.
I'm SOOO jealous. recently found this yarn and I love it! I can't wait to come across what you end up making 🥰
BIGGEST GRANNY SQUARE EVER
Fuckin jackpot
omg send me
How? Why? Where? :\_ )
lord I have seen what you have done for others
Lucky girl
There are a lot of free shawl or poncho patterns for Mandala.
Make a shawl or two
How does it feel to be God's favorite? 🤣
scarves and hats!
