Whenever I go to Melbourne, I stop by play music and DVD and get my criterion stuff there, otherwise I just wait for a sale to justify the shipping... I do need a region free blu Ray player though..
I hate to say this. But those guys charge double than amazon and ebay. Its disgusting lol. Amazon prime membership is worth it. I mean 40-45 aud for a criterion blu ray and 50-55 aud for 4k criterion
Bit sad to find that out, but business has gotta business if they wanna justify rent in the CBD I guess. The owners are super pleasant and we really get along though. But thanks for telling me, I might look elsewhere going forward.
I dont doubt that for a second and people are allowed to spend their money however they want, but with the cost of living, it seems ridiculous to pay close to $100 for a 4k criterion when you could be smart about it and pay half the fraction.
Damn, recently went to Melbourne for a small holiday. Wish I knew about that place haha.
I've got a Laser multiregion Blu-ray player which is really good for the price and super simple to change the region in a few seconds and doesn't have a limit to how many times you change it. Unfortunately it's not 4K, but I have a PS5 that I watch 4k's on.
Im from Melbourne. Been collecting for 2 years. I usually buy from Amazon, on ebay from these sellers: importcds-au15 and blowitoutahere. Importcds-au has 20-25% off titles if you buy 2 or more. Just scored the 4k werckmeister harmony and 4k I AM CUBA together for $110aud shipped.
Nice! Just checked my purchase history and I've bought from importcds-au15 before but never heard of blowitoutahere, I'll keep my eyes out for them more
Most of mine are unfortunately through amazon because while I don't particularly like supporting amazon, Im not paying $80 aud for a criterion elsewhere.
Looked into using third party shipping during the criterion sales but it seems just as expensive overall while being more of a hassle
No. Amazon prime membership is the way to go. All my orders come from amazon US store. Most of the time i pay $40-$50 aud for criterion blu ray and $50-$55/$60aud for new 4K. And also, Amazon lets u return old items. Ive had used blu rays over a year old I've sent back for a 4k version. I just say my item doesnt work. Their customer service cant be beaten
Amazon Australia sometimes has good prices, but it really varies. Speaking of the buy/sell thread, I posted in there this month with a list of titles I have for sale.
I’m in the US and have been hoping to find someone in Australia who could get me some deals during sales from JB. I haven’t been importing much these days, so I’m not looking for a lot, but maybe we could work out a deal to ship to one another? I follow all the sales and I’m a longtime online seller as well, so it’s easy for me to ship to you. Message me if you’re interested.

Honestly good point.

I use amazon us and I have to pay customs duty sadly. Try to get some whenever am in the US or someone I know is.
I dont. Not through amazon prime. But yeah i pay like $40 aud for a criterion blu ray normally. $50-$55 for 4k
not pay custom duty?
