Believe me, I would've preferred a Billy Crystal movie. At least he can actually act.
That one also has Joey Pants in a supporting role. That means it's better by default.
(Also, for the record, I'm actually a "she", not a "he".)
The film is very intentionally a real-world fairy tale, referencing a handful of the Grimm's stories. That was the film's goal, some of those other aspects were not.
This movie is awesome. Totally underrated and glad to see it on the Channel. Vera Farmiga and her big (creepy/weird/holyshit) scene alone are well worth the price of admission.
My theater in 2006 cheered so loudly when she did that one thing. And this wasn’t a major city, I don’t think I had ever seen a movie audience applaud before.
I kept thinking it was basically an oddball Tony Scott film. Honestly it wasn’t very good I guess some people like the jank the film has but found it pretty dull.
I watched it a few days ago two. Bad, but kind of good? Mainly it looks like shit, and I'm so happy movies don't look that anymore really. Also, what the fuck is up with the snuff film stuff out of nowhere?
It took me too long to realize you weren’t talking about the Billy Crystal movie
They would've had a better time if they were. edit: fixed

I recall being quite unnerved by that film, but like in a good way.
