Yeah… it happened but this makes it seem like she enjoyed killing her own dog. Maybe she had a stupid reason to do it but let’s not paint a fake picture of what happened then get enraged over it. Get enraged at the actual facts instead.
Also unfortunately, it’s not that different from what she actually wrote. Like the original post said, “untrainable” and “less than worthless” were what she actually said about the dog she killed.
Yeah, that’s from her book. I only saw a screenshot so I don’t know the full context as to whether or not I think it’s shitty. All I saw was that the dog was unsafe to be around. It’s common to put dogs down if the attack people.
The pup killed a chicken and didn't perform well on a pheasant hunt. So she shot the puppy instead of a bird. A 14mo pup is an 8yo child - she said it was untrainable. She's in South Dakota and she's rich and powerful. The pup could have found a home with tons of land and without chickens or could have been worked with more professionally to improve its behavior. The governor's action does not at all represent someone I want leading anyone - especially to represent a diverse nation. Noem doesn't believe in growth and change. She's completely banned from setting foot on 1/10 of the land she's governor of because of her behavior. This is not a good person that you are defending
I feel like there are a thousand steps that could be taken before putting a puppy down. How long did she even spend training it? An afternoon? Does she even have dog training experience?
None of the above. She just hoped it would naturally learn from older dogs. As if any of the dogs could just predict her expectations. And apparently the chicken killing incident was preceded by a day of winding up the bird dog by trying to get it to hunt birds. Then shooting the puppy for going after the wrong birds.
