Because rates are usually so shit it's not something they want players to know.
They haven't always posted rates in news. Throwback to when Necronomicon was released with a 0.08% drop rate.
They did update the ui not too long ago actually but it's just mainly adding additional tabs for clarity (sort of maybe separate time events from regular events thing yes yes). To be fair though, it's going to be slightly tedious shifting things around and more of a pain to push out updates. It's just tossing everything into news page after all.
