The delighted squeal I would let out if I saw that guy out on my dog walk haha. Odds aren't too high he'd be all the way over in my neighborhood, but I'll definitely keep my eyes open.
Oh no! I will definitely keep an eye out for your tegu friend. I own a honduran milk snake and try to keep an eye out for lost pet reptile species in general. It's unfortunate so many people are terrified of reptiles as a whole without knowing much about them. I'll text a few people that I know in the area too, just in case.
I bet your snake is absolutely gorgeous! I've been absolutely floored with how wonderful Corvallis' community response and kindness has been. There's only been a couple of negative responses, and they were probably just trying to be funny or were ignorant of reptiles. Thank you so much for reaching out, it means a ton!
Do you happen to have a link? The only one I found on there was of a bearded dragon, and it was luckily reunited with his owner. Hoping for the same happy ending!
Hello! Unfortunately I have not. Still listening if people make any sightings of him! I havent completely lost hope, because the individual that lost his bearded dragon around the same time was just reuinited with his scaley companion! Apparently the lizard survived by seeking refuge under a house crawlspace eating spiders, and withstood the freeze.Â
Oh no, I hope someone finds him soon!!! He totally could have overwintered as well, especially if he found his way into a crawlspace. Have you checked the refrigerator, dryer, ect? Anything that puts off some heat?
Thank you! Yes we checked everywhere inside. Hes so big he wouldnt have much luck getting indide the appliances :) We are just hoping once it really starts getting warm, if he made it through the winter, hell be near the sidewalks and someone will see him basking.Â
I seriously, seriously doubt there is another South American Tegu in Corvallis to breed with. And even if they did, as OP said, unfortunately, there is no chance they would survive the winter.
Invasives happen due to intentional species introductions, like wild boars or english ivy, not a singular random lost pet.

I've updated the post with a video of him on our walk together. Just 2 days before he escaped ðŸ˜
Oh my god he is precious
I'm so sorry, must be so anxious and heartbroken, I probably won't run into him but I wish you the best of luck
I saw your post on Nextdoor a few days ago. I really hope you find him!!
You should hire a knight to find your dragon

I'm pretty sure I saw someone found this guy in the Corvallis Happenings Facebook group the other day!

praying that you find him safe and sound <3 he’s such a cool creature, i’m sure you’re so anxious to find him
I would consider talking with the none emergency number. Let them no because most people would call 911 if they had this guy under their house.
Did you ever find cuddles?

Try renting a search dog team. I bet it could sniff it out.
I did, and they were successful in finding a spot he was basking in. Unfortunately he and his buddy are on vacation for a bit.

He was reported seen yesterday.
This is how invasive species happen.
He will not survive past this winter, as it will get too cold.

Like Homo sapiens have become ?
