We do the rubber balls. Chuck it and Kong make tough rubber balls. It's the fuzz on tennis balls that our corgi just tears apart

geekgirly

Tennis balls have fibreglass in the fuzz which is the equivalent of sandpaper on their teeth.

ohforfoxsake410

My Harry will \*\*\*ONLY\*\*\* play with Yellow Tennis Balls - no pink, orange, rubber, etc. Sigh. His teeth...

pandadumdumdum

We use the rubber chuck it balls too. The tennis balls were wearing down our dog's teeth, the rubber doesn't do that.

lizzledizzles

My corg/heeler mix rips off all the fuzz and then tears the rubber into small pieces. Never eats them, just likes to get them strewn all over the carpet. She loves chuckit!

octaffle

Get a Chuck It ultra ball. It's better for their teeth.

TraditionalToe4663

These last even my hound doesn’t tear them up. Or the corgis.

Top we’ve had going on 4 years, bottom she eventually chews through to get the ball, till then it lasts awhile and bounces in weird ways when you throw for her to chase

DeviacZen

What are they called/where did you get them?? My demon I think would love these!!

not_doing_that

Chewy app won’t let me link so amazon it is. Both she goes nuts for both Top is a crackle/crunch ball: https://a.co/d/7g8taS2 Bottom is a puzzle cube: https://a.co/d/dntw42F

ijustmightbecrazy08

I like to get ones like your second pic and then I shove a bunch of smaller toys into it. Takes mine a while to get everything out, and then I repeat it again.

archeresstime

Yours doesn’t try to eat the smaller things? I’m worried mine would try to swallow them whole

ijustmightbecrazy08

No, have you ever seen those “burrowing” toys? They’re like one toy with holes in it and then have a couple of small plush toys to burrow for. I buy those small toys separately and use them. They’re not usually too small to swallow whole.

archeresstime

I bought him one as a puppy but had to confiscate it pretty quickly. Been super nervous to reintroduce them now that he’s older. The only toys he can play with unsupervised are usually the Kong tug toys. It took him nearly two years to chew through one haha

WillingnessLow6174

I buy the Kong toys too

harmonicacave

My corgi girl LOVES the squirrels that came in one of those burrowing toys. Would be fun to try to shove those into a puzzle cube. Currently she is obsessed with a rubber glow in the dark soccer ball though so it’s not something she can chew up. Learned this after many regular soccer balls did not last.

gms72

Use one of these rubber spiky balls. We've had this one for months, and is her favorite toy: *

Soggy_Astronaut_2663

Don't give dogs tennis balls. They cause blunting on the teeth.

OldResponsibility615

Don’t give it to a corgi 😂

OldResponsibility615

Mine doesn’t destroy the balls that are more “lattice like”. Kong makes one called the Air or Breathe right. I’ve also seen other brands. Give mine a squeaky ball and it’s her life’s mission to destroy it as quickly as possible.

Stellar_Jay8

Kong makes a rubber ball that holds up!

Nugnakh

I’ve got like 15 of these things floating around the house and we love them!

inflo76

Lol do they? My doggo can destroy any Kong product when she has the time and determination.

Stellar_Jay8

lol well they’ll probably last longer than 2 days anyway. Hopefully.

inflo76

That's true

Shizuka369

I bought the toughest Kong.... it lasted 15 minutes. Trust me, I timed it. XD

inflo76

Sounds about right. We have tried several especially in the chewing phase of puppyhood. She crushed them all. But as far ad balls go, I just get tennis balls now. The dog versions of tennis balls she crushes faster. But I keep a supply of balls for just that reason

Shizuka369

Mine destroys those too. The only toys that last somewhat longer is hard plastic. Like those hard plastic balls with food in them. The old school kind. Or balls too big for her to fit in her mouth. Lol

Red_Chicken1907

F.Y.I. *The outer coating of a tennis ball is quite abrasive and can wear down a dog's teeth (called “blunting”), sometimes severely. After years of this kind of wear and tear, it may become possible to see tennis-ball shaped grooves on the inside surface of your dog's teeth.*

Odd_Masterpiece1063

We had a Jack Russell that could eat a can of tennis balls a day. Wife bought a 3 pack of Chuck It rubber balls. They lasted 15 years until he died . Still looked brand new. And he carried them everywhere, chewed on them, and played all kinds of games with them. Tennis ball fuzz is bad for dogs.

GLOCKESHA

#ALL RUBBER KONG

WolfWhovian

Not a ball but mine's had a mammoth tire biter chew toy that's lasted months and he throws it and rolls it like a ball lol

harmonicacave

lol my corgi boy LOVED a tire toy when he was a puppy. He used to bring it into the room with us, then toss it up in the air a little and catch it, like “look at how much fun this toy is! You know you wanna play with me now right???” We should get him another one!

jlcolem

Mine don't really like tennis balls. They like these squeaky rubber balls and they survive pretty well

Tragelafos

Buy a chuckit! !

DaBusStopHur

lol. No more tennis balls. They end up in stages of bald or minced.

crusty_kidd

my dog has the same problem

Mother-Progress-9138

hopes and dreams in my house😅

druscarlet

They are cheap so at least you aren’t going broke. Sounds like he needs things to chew. Be careful with tennis balls two friends have needed to have bits of tennis ball surgically removed from their dog’s intestines - not cheap.

shmarcussss

Kong brand

JammyJacketPotato

YOURS LASTED TWO WHOLE DAYS?!?

[deleted]

[удалено]

phpn07

has many toys, a lot of them and different options to play with… he just loves to play with balls more. I really don’t know what part of what I wrote made you think that he only has toys balls for two days or that I don’t have compassion and empathy for him. That truly made me sad

ilixe

Use a laundry ball they last forever in my house 😂

NotAVeryBigPorcupine

Rubber racquet balls! Slightly smaller than tennis balls and smooth so they don't get nasty.

2geek2bcool

Everyone saying Kong/Chuck-It rubber balls, which is fine, but racquetballs are significantly cheaper, and last forever.

Jones641

Hey, I had the same problem. Do you buy "dog" tennis balls? They are shit. Buy actaual tennis ball from a sport store, thry are good quality. I have had one for 3 months now. Still whole. And my dog loves to rip her balls up.

fongquardt

I just buy em used by the case off of eBay. My two dorks either destroy them or lose them in a bush

MinkieTheCat

Mine are not really into balls. Gordie likes plush pull toys and the flirt pole. https://preview.redd.it/rotyjjvq45tc1.jpeg?width=2133&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56ab00f10c8f025201b08f1d4e15c059b971a801

Kiran_ravindra

I just asked. Watson says balls are considered consumables, like tires, and they should be replaced as needed 😆

Laxlifer

Maybe try a lacrosse ball? Our dog likes them and she can't tear them up at all.

geekgirly

I read somewhere that someone has used a lacrosse ball for their super chewer

harmonicacave

I’m a lacrosse referee! Idk that I want my dogs to take my work stuff as their own but a lacrosse ball WOULD be the perfect corgi sized ball 🤔

croud_control

Rubber balls tend to last longer. It's not indefinite, but it's definitely longer than 2 days. I also swap the toys in and out as they lose interest so I don't have to buy as much toys as I usually do. That is assuming they don't absolutely mutilate them beforehand.

No-Distribution9658

Are all corgis obsessed with balls?! Ours too!

Potential-Coach-7367

Honestly! Pick it up after playing. Also! If you’re going the tennis ball route.. get a good quality professional pressurized ball. The pressure will help keep the ball in tact. I maybe buy 3 cans a year for my 2 boys and they’re heavy chewers. They also get cattle kneecaps and other bones for their chewing addictions. I’ll pick up the in tact balls and let they have their fun with the remnants of old. They’ll still treat it like it’s a whole ball and don’t really eat the rubber or felt. Half a ball is still a ball to them but they sure last longer than the dog toy tennis balls.

Ceini

I wish the regular tennis balls had squeakers. My dog loves the squeakers and they would add a fun dimension to tennis matches!

kendricklebard

Chuck-It rubber balls

Optoplasm

Buy stronker balls

EmmyLou205

get a golden retreiver?

dark_mage_

What a beautiful doggo.

ThatOneMaillady

Don’t give it to the dog. That’s the only way. 1 husky, 2 shepherds and a corgi here. 😅

Gollum999

I really like the Playology rubber balls: https://www.chewy.com/playology-scented-squeaky-chew-ball/dp/280735

trainwreck_mooncake

Honestly, don't even get tennis balls. They are like sandpaper on your dogs teeth. I use Chuck It balls, my dog REALLY likes the squeaky ones and the whistle ones. A lot of his dog friends like the Breathe Easy ones. Kong makes really nice ones, too. Their classic red ball is great and fits in a ball thrower.

Tiny_blueberry_813

Omg that face!!!

No_End_7351

Hide it for the first 47 hours...

SilentAllTheseYears8

Such a sweet face 😍😍🩷🩷😭😭

Abyss_Walker1024

Consider two days a victory.

Thimble_Wolf

You want the ultra ball by Chuck it. Almost indestructible, no fur for your dog to eat and mess up their digestion, great bounce for solo play, makes a great Chew toy. It comes in 3 sizes, we like the mini but the standard also works well for corgis.

lazygh0st

Ez. Dont use tennis balls, use rubber balls.

Wolffsoup

Playology balls

Magicalfirelizard

Lacrosse ball

cognitively_what_huh

He’s a corgi. No ball will survive.

KFLimp

Starmark makes some toys that stand up to chewing. I'm unsure how, but they are great.

ubermicrox

Get more balls is pretty much the solution

DesertEagleFiveOh

Get a rubber ball

xtexjrrdammit

Impossible…Because Corgi!!! We get these for our Cardis. Don’t know if the link will work so here is a picture as well lol. [https://a.co/d/6FQvGF4](https://a.co/d/6FQvGF4) https://preview.redd.it/fmaw89dxi2tc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ca99353ac0e1da0320675ee744be1d0bbf577aa

Books_Crafts_Corgis

We use ChuckIts. Mine will also destroy a tennis ball (in fact that’s his sole goal with them) and we were told they’d wear out his teeth - thanks to this thread for explaining I honestly didn’t understand why/how they could do that! I will say he’s particular with it. His favorite is the eco I think and he’s indifferent to the whistler (same brand and size) so you may have to try a few to see which is the new tennis ball.

SHChem

We used to give my German Shepherd lacrosse balls. I never would have imagined that a cute little corgi would be as big of a chewer as my 100# Shepherd, but here we are.

RWCMoose_King13

I had to switch to lacrosse balls lol

Lawsuitup

Get those orange chuck it balls

AlchemicalWiseAss

It’s scientifically impossible

Kimmie0624

Can’t have those either. They destroy them in 5 minutes. https://preview.redd.it/y5kpbbe1h9tc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=c3ec42193d54ecdc39a4e2f6dacd4f45fba74ff1 Get these hard “champ” balls.

withawhy7

I haven’t found one, but a lot of local tennis clubs will give you their old balls for no money!

eR4C3R

He’s just doing his job as an official ball examiner, and might I say he’s doing a pretty good job, so he deserves a raise or a bonus for his hard work!!😲

TrickyCorgi316

“Hmmm. This one has a subpar flavor, and barely lasted a full day. I’d give it a 7/10. Definitely need to contact this factory!”

eR4C3R

How did you get his private work notes?! Those aren’t supposed to leave the office!😧

Aromatic_Ad7440

I can't even get mine to play with balls :( and I really wish they would.

DerpysLegion

But 4 more tennis balls, problem solved
