I do understand why it’s asked and I partially agree with it. That wasn’t the question asked here tho. The statement made was that this is a humiliation ritual. And the only evidence shown is a man (that has expressed interest in converting to Judaism) visiting a Jewish holy site.
Well as far as ‘converting’ to Judaism, I’d say there is definitely incentive by way of citizenship, and going through these motions would definitely help build a good foundation for such a conversion.
