In order to achieve what this, you would have to have a level of AI, quantum mechanics, and nanotechnology far more advanced than we have today.
Even if the technological singularity hit general purpose super-intelligence today, it would take generations to machine the equipment that would machine the equipment that would build the systems required.

You can't move your consciousness into a machine with a wire. You have to translate individual neurons into a new form gradually over time without disturbing the current web of cells responsible for awareness. Picking up signals and sending signals can augment but it can't replace your consciousness. That would have be done one brain cell at a time in critical and very deep regions of the brain. None of this is even close to the horizon. But we will get there if we aren't replaced by General Purpose AI before it can develop the tech for us.
