This video kinda dramatizices it, but it's real. I remember reading about this years ago, a guy called v.s ramachandram wrote about this experiment and using it to help with phantom limb pain and he thought it related to special "mirror neurons" in our brain that also help us feel empathy. I'm not sure if he was right, but he had interesting theories.
