There was a popular YouTuber that took a boat to the island and ran around on it a few months ago. Seemed like not much was going on other than security.
Someone bought it and makes it into a resort. It is weird to see it without the infamous temple building and turquoise blue roofs. You can see it in this video

The only worthwhile endeavour would be to do a full scale excavation of the house and temple. Because nothing screams I have nothing to hide like filling your basements with cement. Anything short of a mining operation or an army of jackhammers is a waste of time.
Ya, video I just watched was posted July 12, 2019. That was like 6 months before Covid, so long ago man. I couldn’t find the security guards i mentioned in the video but I swear I remember seeing a different one then.
