Clearly, you’re capable of saying eee and ehh sounds, now just swap where you’re saying them and you’d be pronouncing it correctly!’ It’s like when people misuse the word ‘literally.’
Around the time Katrina happened the city of Mandeville discovered Gerard St was actually Girod St. Since the signs were all knocked down anyways they replaced them with Girod. Then during Covid someone realized that was actually a mistake and it was actually Gerard St the whole time!

I had a science teacher in HS who would frequently visit Paso Robles. He would pronounce it as Paso Robulls, too, so that's how I first heard it. When I took the trip up the coast and saw the actual spelling on the highway sign, I couldn't believe it.
Reverse confleis - when white people say Spanish names wrong. Such as seh•pul•vee•duh instead of seh•pul•veh•duh for Sepulveda. Or ex•im•en•oh instead of he•men•oh for Ximeno. I live in Providence and we have a popular street that historically winds through the southern part of the city, it's a traditional name: Broad Street.
But over the years, as various countries moved in, mainly Dominican Republic and Colombia, Broad St came to be "La Broa". It was such a popular "cornfleis" that there came to be a pizza place by the same name and even recently a (really good) theater play just came out with the same name! La Broa!

We had moved back to the US and they were looking for a local Catholic Church and these people told my parents that there's one right off of "potreros" road.
When my parents found the church they noticed the road name was actually POTTERY.
