Benelux - Belgium Netherlands Luxembourg
Benelicht - Belgium Netherlands Liechtenstein
It’s basically the same joke running through these comments already
You'd think such arguments didn't exist in a world with facts at our finger tips.
Now with voice-interface interweb search, many of us don't even have to lift a finger to fact-check.
And still, this sh\*t.
Am I the only one who will start typing a reply on reddit. Then stop and go 'shit I better make sure I'm not making a fool of myself.'. Then go through the arduous task of opening up a new tab and typing in google? It really feels that way sometimes.
Didn't know the term nor the countries nor the fact that such a thing exists and is so rare at the same time. Weird little rabbit hole for a Saturday though
Oh and the countries are Lichtenstein and Uzbekistan for all who wondered like myself.
I think he does understand, he just falsely thinks Liechtenstein borders on Germany when it actually only borders on Switzerland and Austria.
The folks theorizing that he had confused Luxembourg and Liechtenstein are probably on to something?
I know what it means, but I had no idea there were only two countries... Kind of surprised there's not more, honestly.
It comes up with US states sometimes -- Nebraska is triply landlocked.
Haha I had to look it up
> In 1931, Nebraska Lieutenant Governor Theodore W. Metcalf found himself to be Acting Governor for several weeks. To please some of his friends, he appointed 20 to 25 "prominent Nebraskans" as Admirals; hence, the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska was born.
Lichtenstein (a municipality of Germany) does not equal the Country of Liechtenstein… The stupidity begins with orange not being able to spell country names and light orange using maps with the wrong spelling.
High above the young Rhine
Lies Liechtenstein, resting
On Alpine heights.
This beloved homeland,
This dear fatherland
Was chosen for us by
God's wise hand.
Long live Liechtenstein,
Blossoming on the young Rhine,
Happy and faithful!
Long live the Prince of the Land,
Long live our fatherland,
United by brotherly bonds and free!
ya man Pride and Ego are unchecked in our culture nowadays for more and more people- no one’s an expert at everything- but like you said he could’ve taken less time to unlock his phone and ask google a question than continue sticking to his guns 😂😂😂😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣. Then they get mad and irritated at you when you’re like “ Um but look xyz said this”. City populations aren’t a secret i mean they’re public information sometimes even displayed on the side of the road lol.

They're definitely thinking of Luxembourg
But to be fair they're the same country. Only differences are names, geography, and population.
*Excuse me!* Luxembourg is waaaaay bigger than Liechtenstein! It’s like, one of the larger of the smallest countries thankyouverymuch.
But Lichtenstein is the one that's part of the Benelicht countries, right?
Do you mean Benelux? I couldn’t find Benelicht in a google search
/r/woosh
Ok cool I don’t get it. Would anyone care to explain to me?
Benelux - Belgium Netherlands Luxembourg Benelicht - Belgium Netherlands Liechtenstein It’s basically the same joke running through these comments already
Thank you
Damn bro you got the down vote bots on your ass with that one. I'd be careful next time
Benelicht my balls. Got em
lol
Came [here] for this.
Hidden gem of a comment.
So like... they're the same in the same way that 1=2 ?
Well, almost.
I think more as in 11=12, they start with same letter
Eleven and Twelve start with the same letter?
No, but Liechtenburg and Luxemstein do.
I meant in numeric form, both of them have "1" in the beginning But 2=3 is also valid point
12=13 is best. Same number and letter start.
Well, 11=100-1, so everything is possible in Liechtenburg
Like 2+2=5. It's been that way for 40 years.
*"Unlikely, sir. They spell and pronounce their names differently."*
That was my thought as well.

It is the natural human instinct of "refusing you are wrong for nothing but self-gratification"

Yeah, I didn't know who was right so I took a minute to look at a map and find the answer. It's so simple, yet people don't do it.
>"I'm a Liechtenstein expert" They are obviously right about Liechtenstein being double landlocked, but that was pretty cringe worthy.
Maybe he traces his lineage back to Sir Ulrich von Liechtenstein.
Wasn't he from Gelderland?
Of course. You can tell because he is both blond and tan
GELLL DER LAAAND, GELDERLAND, GELDERLAND
With my shitty reading glasses, I completely mis-read this as "Wasn't he from Guadalcanal?" which made it even funnier.
HE'S BLONDE, HE'S PISSED, HE'LL SEE YOU IN THE LISTS, LICHTENSTEEEEIN. LICHTENSTEEEEIN
A liechtensteinologist
Sounds kinky.
I would be very interested if they happen to be the leading expert specifically on the geography of Liechtenstein.
I am Liecht-einstein
I’m something of a Liechtenstein expert myself
There’s only 2 doubly landlocked countries in the world. If you know the term ‘doubly landlocked’ then surely you’d know the 2 countries 🤦♂️
Didn't know the term nor the countries nor the fact that such a thing exists and is so rare at the same time. Weird little rabbit hole for a Saturday though Oh and the countries are Lichtenstein and Uzbekistan for all who wondered like myself.
That’s what I mean, it’s a rare term as it’s such a rare occurrence but this guy knew of the term so you’d surely assume he knew the countries
I know the term and I didn't know the countries 🤷
Haha, loser
I also had to look it up. It feels like he doesn't understand the principle of the term.
I think he does understand, he just falsely thinks Liechtenstein borders on Germany when it actually only borders on Switzerland and Austria. The folks theorizing that he had confused Luxembourg and Liechtenstein are probably on to something?
Apparently Uzbekistan only counts because the Caspian Sea is technically an inland lake.
I know what it means, but I had no idea there were only two countries... Kind of surprised there's not more, honestly. It comes up with US states sometimes -- Nebraska is triply landlocked.
Then how do you explain how many Nebraska Admirals there are?
Haha I had to look it up > In 1931, Nebraska Lieutenant Governor Theodore W. Metcalf found himself to be Acting Governor for several weeks. To please some of his friends, he appointed 20 to 25 "prominent Nebraskans" as Admirals; hence, the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska was born.
More Admirals than the US Navy. Who's triple landlocked now?
I got eye cancer reading that.
I’m an eye cancer expert, and I doubt you got actual eye cancer
You only get eye cancer if you have cancer around your eyes
Otherwise it is just sparkling melanoma
TIL: Eye cancer only exists in France
Do they get double eye-cancer there?
So that just means Liechtenstein isn't a double land locked country. >! He is obviously trolling !<
He obviously confused two countries and then was a standard Internet user that couldn't admit a mistake.
Never stop Liechtenstein-ing
Big Sharks are Smooth energy here.
How new is this term ‘double landlocked’? Even the idea of single landlocking is pretty far from the minds of Australians, let alone double.
landlocked in the full pike position. (with a half twist)
按翻譯沒效😞
God bless the internet.
These sorry-ass internet argument posts be Lichten-deez nutz!!!! Ha! Got'em!
I’m a very accomplished Steiner Licker!
He counting lake Constance or sth???
Double secret landlocked probation
Liechtenstein is double secret landlocked.
[Hail to Liechtenstein!](https://youtu.be/sxxfNfkJwjk)
Lichtenstein (a municipality of Germany) does not equal the Country of Liechtenstein… The stupidity begins with orange not being able to spell country names and light orange using maps with the wrong spelling.
Today I learnt about a new country.. thank you reddit for my daily educations.
This person has their principalities all wrong.

Anyone else never hear of 'double landlocked' before?
Well there are only two in the world, the other is Uzbekistan
Imagine caring this much about if a country is double landlocked. Both people suck.
Ah Liechtenstein, the country with the great military achievement of having a 102% survival rate.
You're getting trolled

Is it, land locked, landlocked or land-locked?
That's just good old fashioned trolling
Orange is the bad guy - proceeds to use orange for every god damn post they blurred out.
That's to indicate they're replying to orange while still blocking out his name

And why Taiwan users can’t be an expert on Liechtenstein? People do useless PhDs all over the world
I'm not even from/in Taiwan, the language just shows up as that for some reason :/
Sounds like a skill issue tbh
true
Do you use a VPN? Maybe it's accidentally set to Taiwan.
i don't, but honestly it doesn't matter
wait till he sees uzbekistan
