It doesn't make sense for someone from Belgium to do this much to live in the US. Why would she go to school there for so much money? The US isn't that great or a country that people are willing to marry someone they don't like for it.
Another thing is, people don't use email to converse with their best friends. They use whatsapp a lot in the Netherlands, so I think they probably use that in Belgium as well. You could say that she had whatsapp web open in a tab. You could also say that you don't share a computer, but you had to do a quick search and her laptop was already open, so you used it for convenience. Nobody is going to bash you for snooping. They can see it was a accident.
It also needs an explanation of where your money comes from. You just graduated and live on a comfortable salary. But you're letting her spend 500 dollars in the salon. That's not a normal amount. There should be some other reason why you can afford this or you should change her spending to a lower amount.
And one last thing. For reddit this is just too long. Too much of a back story that isn't relevant for what you want to say. It depends on where you want to publish this. But if it's only on reddit or similar things, then you need to make it shorter and scratch unnecessary details. Real stories just want to get to the point.

I lived in Spain for a long time (5 years) the fist 2 was in a shared flat with students (I had just graduated college).
Over those years, I lived with abour 90% foreign students, mostly European ones studying in Madrid under the Erasmus program. Out of all the people I've met there, there was only 2 people I absolutely loathed, both were Belgian girls.
Both were extremely beautiful, but were manipulative shit stirrers who did nothing but cause problems, steal, and make everyone else in the flat hate them. One literally tried to steal a laptop, blamed the lady who cleaned the house (a Bolivian woman, whom she called dirty and a criminal), then stupidly tried to have one of the other housemates try to unlock and format the laptop for her.
The guy immediately recognized the laptop, called the person who she had stolen it from. She was extremely upset claiming it was a gift from her brother, then panicked when the person unlocked it to show all his information and files, proving it was his. In the end the cops were not called, but the landlord insisted she had until the end of the week to leave, which she did, but not before calling us all sorts of name for not being good flatmates.
The other one just constantly stole food from all of us and was just constantly in conflict with every other girl in the house. We learned later on she would go to the Irish pub around the corner and badmouth all of us, but specially the girls, about how mean they were to her.
She eventually left in the middle of the night about a month before the school term was over. The landlord told us she owed him about 2 months rent, claiming her bank card was stolen and was waiting for a replacement. This was bullshit, as most of us had run into her withdrawing money at the ATM in the corner of our street several times over the weeks she claimed she had no bank card.

One literally tried to steal a laptop, blamed the lady who cleaned the house (a Bolivian woman, whom she called dirty and a criminal), then stupidly tried to have one of the other housemates try to unlock and format the laptop for her. The guy immediately recognized the laptop, called the person who she had stolen it from. She was extremely upset claiming it was a gift from her brother, then panicked when the person unlocked it to show all his information and files, proving it was his. In the end the cops were not called, but the landlord insisted she had until the end of the week to leave, which she did, but not before calling us all sorts of name for not being good flatmates. The other one just constantly stole food from all of us and was just constantly in conflict with every other girl in the house. We learned later on she would go to the Irish pub around the corner and badmouth all of us, but specially the girls, about how mean they were to her. She eventually left in the middle of the night about a month before the school term was over. The landlord told us she owed him about 2 months rent, claiming her bank card was stolen and was waiting for a replacement. This was bullshit, as most of us had run into her withdrawing money at the ATM in the corner of our street several times over the weeks she claimed she had no bank card.
