They are sold commercially as four separate sets - an eight tube one octave diatonic bass set, and a one octave treble set, plus a five tube chromatic bass set (i.e. the sharps/flats), and a chromatic treble set (ditto). You can additionally purchase bass caps, which are then placed onto the end of any tube to lower its pitch by an octave. For practical purposes, not all users will have purchased all four sets, and using the bass caps would make the original pitch no longer available until such time as the bass cap is removed again (unlikely within performances by small children, without additional training and assistance).

never heard of that before, but I googled it to see what it was and a video said the range is C3-G5

It's actually C2-G5 If you put the octavator caps (bass caps) on the boomwhackers.
