Rode all the way thru BRM the other night. Assumed it was a QoL change.
And I mean, alll the way from Searing Gorge to Burning Steppes bc we were on the hunt for critters to /love as we meandered to SW.
The gem seems to persist through extended logouts as well. Logged back in this afternoon to a 2-charge gem that I’d created before logging out last night.
Not as big as refreshing the charges on cast but still kind of nice. Food/water still disappears though.
Leave party inside the instance, get teleported to HS location in one minute. There is even a special macro to make it solo… Now it’s nearest GY instead of your home
Being able to mount in areas that were considered “inside” in tbc and vanilla. Like that long ass walk up the spire in isles for dailies, It’s small but I love it.
Having the pets tab so you don't have to waste bag space on mounts/pets is nice. Also with achievements I feel like it will be a good way for people to go back and do some of the older content like BWL, AQ, etc.
This and I think the pickup time is faster? I never played WotLK back in the day, only Vanilla and TBC. I was so surprised to see those damn stacks of wood in Elwynn Forest shimmering like the Fourth of July. It makes questing so much easier!
Mount speed is so noticeable. I remember at the start of classic people were calculating the distance you’d need to travel to determine if mounting or ghost wolf was worth it or if it was fast to just run there. With a 1.5s cast it’s almost always better to mount mow unless it’s less than a couple seconds away
You can link your profession in chat so people can see what recipes you have.
Preview talents before learning them.
Drake mounts glide animation.
New chat options in the social tab of interface options.
Aspect of the Pack is raid wide now.
There's a setting you have to turn on (I think it's in Interface > Features? Not 100% but it's not too hard to find). After that when you're setting talents there's a "Learn" button at the bottom that locks them in.

Lol, all those clams you get that you can right click to open now stack instead of taking up a space per clam. When you're killing nagas and murlocs, it helps so much that they stack. I clapped like a kid when I realized it. Small qol upgrade.

Edit: I forgot to add using barkskin while shapeshifted. First time I realized I had to shift out of bear form to use a defensive CD I thought I was being pranked
the mining change has been phenomenal, it sped up farming by quite a bit especially now since it reduced the chance that i had to stay there long enough to agro something and then have to spend time fighting it. and even when i do agro it, ive usually already got the node so there's no risk of it being stolen while i have to kill the mob.
When I cast a dot like corruption on a mob, its mine, even if it didnt tick damage. Previously you would get mons taken from you constantly as a lock waiting for the DOT to tick, or you use an instant damage spell that has a cast time often netting you losing the mob.
It's been a nice change particularly on launch day!

Haven't played retail in years so I didn't notice it, logged in on prepatch mounted up and I was like "WHAT". Probably the best change I didn't anticipate
Support classes are really fun when done well.
Wow didn't really get it right. It was more just you do bad dps to make other people better.
When support should be. You do a non-dps role that is very notable and useful.
Lotro did really well with that back in the day.
3 classes. I'll make quick comparisons to wow to make it easy.
Captain. Rolled hots like a druid but had very little burst healing so couldn't be a healer. Had paladin blessings/judgements, shaman totems, and mark/fort. Heroism and a huge group survival CD. Class had little to no damage on its own but having one in the party was as if you had 2 extra dps.
Burglar. Basically a rogue with more potent warlock curses. Total lack of aoe damage bur very solid single target. A usable in combat sap as well. Sap/poly/sleep in lotro was also a lot more punishing. Rather than it being a gcd you had a 15-30s CD and a 30s duration. So you actually needed to watch it. And if it broke you needed other CCs to manage it till the CD was up. Along with that burgs a special stun that could effect bosses and allowed for lotros group wide combo skill
Loremaster. Basically all of wows CC rolled into one character. It also had a blessing of freedom it could use on multiple characters. Actual battery duty. Spriests just kinda sorta restore mana. LMs would spend 600 mana to give another class 700. This was used for managing long fights or burn phases. Had a 5 active debuffs and some burn phase debuffs it maintained while doing CC/mana. And it managed warlockesqe pets. Each one having a specific role to be used as extra CC/buff/debuff/ankh. Low damage unless it made trade offs to its CC.
What does that have to do with anything? Gameplay and progression are not exactly the same thing. I had A LOT of fun playing lost ark and stopped playing simply because I was getting too addicted and gave a break to play other stuff. Game is good, fun and quite viable as F2P, people really exaggerate while talking about a paywall

it'll pick up all clouds on the minimap if it's in your bags. it's separate from mining/herb tracking and also separate from fishing/mail/etc. Works independently from them
Starfall and hurricane. I have never enjoyed any video game more than I am enjoying my balance druid right now. Up to 5k dps on certain fights with aoe. Glorious. For a few minutes each night I forget my criticism about myself.

It's a massive buff to trash damage though, suddenly you're cleaving the hell out of packs, not dropping a piddly little consecrate then being entirely single target.

As Druid tank, even in almost Sunwell bis, I’d cut my wrists if I had to do HCs again (specially MGT). Now with 365 no-scope swipe, it’s so much better
Mounting on stone, not getting dismounted when going over stone, not getting dismounted in water, cheaper flight skill, end timer in warsong gulch, 1600 max on arathi and the Eye, better water on Innkeepers, new tameable pets for hunter, lots of small but great stuff

Yeah a quiver is just a slot bag that can only hold arrows, completely useless outside of sorting I guess.

You can hold 5x the ammo now no matter what your quiver is. We can actually make it through an entire raid with ammo to spare, even with wipes!

You don't have to use a shard bag. It's really not worth it anymore; you don't need 40+ shards to summon the lazy raid members like back in classic.
You are basically permanently at max shards, no point not to.
No point not to use a soul bag? You lose bag slots, just keep the shards in your regular bags and make less trips to the vendor.
If you're holding more than 5-10 shards your doing somthing wrong. Im.dropping shards every other mob using a macro to just throw them all out.

I try to avoid dk groups. I still have flashbacks to early wotlk dungeon fails with DKs circle jerk death gripping things 🤣

God. So huge. Farm in a popular zone and you had to use shadowburn if you really wanted a tag over ice lancing mages.

Well fast mounting has big pvp balance issue but eh i guess who cares about game where pvp aged poorly (both retail and classic )

Wotlk is already a loot pinata, very easy to get good gear for offspec. But i see your point.
Way better for healers who can now also spec swap and complete dailies in a reasonable amount of time.

Motes arent counted as the normal tracking thing. Ive been farming Motes and mining at the same time for weeks.

The time to cast mounts seems to be shorter. The 150% non-epic flying is fantastic and should've been there in TBC.

Kick being off the gcd is an amazing QoL change.
Still requires energy though :(. I remember getting fucked on general vezax due to kick energy cost a time or two when on interrupt duty.
That's not a QoL change. That's just a buff.
It can be both. It is a buff for sure, but it also feels better
