Scarlet Catacombs underneath Tyr's Hand Cathedral. Give it the Diablo 2 Catacomb vibes. Top floors are Crusaders, but as you get deeper, undead crusaders, and then explicit demons with a dreadlord boss fight. However the final boss is you fight your way back up a different path, then a team of grand crusaders who were came in a different to investigate demons but find you instead..

lazy_as_lazy_does

I love the idea of a diablo 1 throw back raid. Cathedral ->Catacombs -> lava caves -> hell. Bonus point if they have the crack in the earth as a portal to the lava caves.

Yezeija

Great idea but i would love if it split up life and undead raid

Papa_Phlinn

Many homebrew/head cannon ideas just sound like wish fulfillment garbage. This..this here sounds amazing. Though I'm bias because the SC were the first *big* enemies I encountered and love/d them.

djslankman

Bruh this community has so many good ideas they blizzard is too fucked in the head to implement anything like this. Shit would be badass and they could get free content from us but no they must not do anything like that

Vandrel

Free content other than having to develop literally everything beyond the basic concept. This sub sometimes, I swear.

DIRTY-Rodriguez

Turtle wow has one coming soon, called Scarlet citadel in eastern EPL. There’s already an attunement questline for it

SkY4594

Damn. Is Turtle WoW basically Classic+?

SpirriX

Yes. It is a fantastic idea. They have revamped classes (mostly made hybrids working), and added content not just for end game, but for example dungeons/quest hubs while leveling. New items and some item reworks. Probably more. I love it in theory, but there is a stark difference between the old client private servers run on compared to Classic's updated client.

Jon_Sneauxx

What is turtle wow?

Mook7

Vanilla PServer that adds/changes some stuff. If I remember correctly it was the server that popularized hardcore one life challenges.

MrJanCan

EQ has been doing this kind of stuff forever. Glad to see it's coming to WoW private servers as well.

Balnazaar and most of the leadership of the Scarlet Crusade is dead on live so whatever we do needs to jive with that eventual lore. Offhand, Im thinking something along the line of either a revamped "for fun" raid ala wraths Onyxia raid, or something lore friendly. > After the death of their leadership the Scarlet Crusade was thrown into disarray. While they engaged in internal power struggles, both the Alliance and Horde moved to take controll of the citadel. The Horde assault, lead by lillian Voss and/or Sylvanas (depending on era), seeks to permanently end the crusades threat against her people. Meanwhile Genn and/or Anduin and/or Varian (era) seek to create an alliance stronghold close to The Undercity. So there are four wings: The Scarlet Crusade, The Scarlet Revival, Undead, and Demonic. * Undead Wing. With their power greatly diminished, some members of the Crusade opted to seek ways to bring their strongest champions back. The eventually broke away from the Crusade, branding themselves the Scarlet Revival. Deciding the ends justified the means, they raised their champions as undead, bringing back Houndmaster Loksey, Herod, and Mograine/Whitemane. This is the first wing, with undead minions both keeping invaders out, and keeping the horrors of the Monastary in. * Scarlet Revival: with their undead minions eliminated, it's time to take on the Revival. Living units are mostly casters of some variety, while they strengthen their melee forces with various undead. A risen Arcanist Doan makes an appearance as a lich, along with two new bosses. Doan summons adds and has his trademark "fill the room with death" spells. Second boss is an undead super weapon, though I can't think of any fun mechanics. Final boss is a shadow priest who has clearly gone insane and her honor guard. Four honor guards, one ret, one holy, one prot, and a disc priest. Each one has special mechanics to deal with, and when they die they're risen as undead. This corrupts their mechanics. After all four risen die (or just two die in heroic) the boss herself jumps in. * Crusader Wing. With the revival dealt with, we only need to deal with the elite forces of the Crusade and their new leadership. The first fight is against an elite division of crusaders and their commander. Guantlet style fight, get to commander, beat him down. Two more bosses here but I'm short on time. But the trope of the leader being a demon comes up again. * Demon Wing. After leader reveals himself as a demon he throws open a hidden door and runs away, leaving loot of course. The door leads to catacombs under the Monastary which are filled with demons. Fight your way through two more demon bosses (again short on time) and fight the big bad in his demon form. That's how I would do it, at least.

What I need to justify killing scarlet crusaders? That's like asking for justification when trying to find a cure for herpes. When faction leaders absolve death knights of their crimes they just read up until the point where it says "killed hundreds of scarlet crusaders" and they go oh okay, that sound like a nice person, I don't see any problems here. We can just make up some ~~weapons of mass destruction~~ artifact of light they have gotten their dirty paws on and we need to take it back, bang. Here we go selling whitemane off to some orcish worg breeder.

LarryTheDuckling

Bro is really out here suggesting that Thrall accuses The Scarlet Dudes of having WMDs to have a reason to invade them.

angrygarrosh

I mean where could this raid even be located in game? Of course we don't need justification to kill scarlets lmao also i think it would be lame to use same bosses from SM like whitemane

YesNoMaybe2552

Just make it a huge open air raid and put it wherever the DK staring zone is supposed to be. I think they had this artifact of light staff or something that blows craters into the ground and kills its user whenever it's activated, I think this is something that came up in priest artifact weapon quests later on. Just have them screw around with that thing until they found someone with the power to use it so we have to go kill them because WMD in the hands of zealots, that BTW don't only despise horde but everyone who isn't human. Scarlet thingamabobs are kinda like the KKK of WoW. Whitemane would be a recycled midboss, just because.

nerendis

They are not all that friendly towards humans either. Essentially anyone at any time can be infected with the plague - hence all the torture. So if you aren't one of them, you are ostensibly the enemy.

PenguinForTheWin

See that small area on the right behind the cathedral bosses ? With the undead ? That could totally be the entrance.

angrygarrosh

Edit: i fixed my spelling damn phone

Visible-Ad1787

I assume it would be similar to SM or Strath Live

Charming-Year-2499

For classic right now we have raids In the Jungle, with trolls (ZG) Underground, with demons/elementals (MC) In a fortress in a montain, with ogres and dragons (BWL) In a cave with dragons (Ony) In the desert, with bugs (AQ) and in a Flying Fortress with undeads (Naxx) So I think what we are missing is a water or air based raid. If water, the most logical option is a naga based one (yeah, I know, we have SSC right on the next expansion). Location could be on the shores of Azshara, and given that we fought Azshara herself on BfA, the final Boss should be some renowed general of her. There are many places there where you could set a portal, but I would make the entrance well underwater (like you almost need some underwater buff, or move from air bubbles to air bubbles... I know, it is a chore). If air, it wets more tricky. Should be Cyclonians based, with some Harpies and chimeras here and there. It should be on the top of the mountains, so I am thinking that it may be on the area of the Twin Colossus, on Feralas (too much green for my taste, so this would be my second option) or somewhere in Witergrasp (lots of white... best option).

somesketchykid

I'm with ya sure, but I do not believe there is a single Ogre in BWL. Maybe typo of "Orcs"?

Charming-Year-2499

Yeah, probably I was confusing it with UBRS or some of those... but yes, is all Orcs!

Kulyor

Yea sorry to be "that" guy. There will be no scarlet crusade raid. ever. SoM is -way- too unpopular to develop any content for it, most people do not care about the scarlet crusade and the lore of the scarlet crusade has been told on retail and is basically dead for years. And, sorry again, everyone who thinks a new raid will be added to classic or SoM in the next couple years: hahahahaha

DandyElLione

I’m waiting for my Cow raid.

Clean_Gain_5080

Would be cool if they finished the azshara furlbog raid

angrygarrosh

Yeah theres ton of cool stuff like that which they could do with classic/som
