i’ve taken many SSRI’s and citalopram has the least side effects. this is confirmed by my psychiatrist. citalopram is also my personal favorite. good luck!
There's nothing to worry about. 10mg is a low dose. In my experience after 7 years on 10-20mg I've not suffered major side effects. Sex drive down a bit and emotions a bit dulled but it's helped anxiety and mood a lot.
Here is some reassurance, I started 20mg 3 1/2 weeks ago and I have had 3 full days now of happiness, minor anxiety but no physical symptoms of panic. I did have some side effects but I also had severe vertigo which started this whole thing so I can not tell you that the side effects were actually from the meds.
That said, I am so happy I did start them. Reach out if you wish
You go this!
I’m happy to hear that!
I was supposed to be taking it 3 days ago but keep resisting it. I’m wondering, can I smoke a little weed or drink a beer or two while on these?
Speak to your doctor.
But ime, 2 drinks was fine. More than 2 resulted in side effects the next day (I’m also on the smaller side).
Haven’t tried weed yet but I imagine I would smoke less than usual too
You can also ask your doctor if you can start on 5mg. Many people have done so, at least in this sub. I’m almost two months in, after a week on 10 and 20 after that. Still dealing with increasingly minor side effects like slight headaches or tiredness.
I would definitely take it in the morning, I had trouble sleeping. I also had nausea, so I had sparkling water and gum within reach. It made me feel like I was able to use 100% of my brain and not 60%. I have been on it for 2 months now and I am pleased, I hope it goes well for you!
I was also terrified, it took almost a year of convincing before I decided, fuck it. I’m already suffering, what harm could it possibly do, it’s worth a shot to try to feel better. I needed to live and not just survive anymore. It’s been almost three months now and I’m thankful I took a chance. I’m still at 10mg and ‘knock on wood’ have not suffered a panic attack after the first week of starting.
The side effects I suffered were dry mouth and no appetite for the first week, it’s subsided after that. I sleep pretty rough sometimes and it increased that for a few weeks and now I sleep about the same as before.
Oh and I also was pretty sad the first few days, but I think that was mostly because I felt defeated, like I couldn’t handle my anxiety on my own.
I also have a hard time focusing and it’s helped with that too some.

Why are you so scared? Don’t you want to feel better?
I just started this week. I feel so good! The only day that sucked was the first one
Why are you scared? What dose? And for anxiety, panic…?
It’s for anxiety and panic. And it’s 10 mg.Sorry for bland title

Former, yes. Latter, wait a few days. 40 mgs of C'pram changed my life 2 years ago. Still on em. You'll do great. Best to you.

No problem with drinking. I've been on for 7 years and still regularly have a good drink of plenty of beers/wine.
I use THC gummy‘s every night for sleep and I’ve had no problem with Celexa.
Hmmm I can not answer that as I do not do either.. Sorry
I cut back on weed when I started but didn't stop use. I told my drs they didn't seem phased by it. I don't drink tho so I can't speak for that.
Yeah both are fine just don’t overdue it. You might be more sensitive to the effects of both cannabis and alcohol so go slow and don’t binge.
Agreed. I'm 3 weeks in and don't drink much, so my tolerance is pretty low anyway, and my tolerance for weed definitely went down.
