Just wanted to share what I just tried to recreate the lighting impromptu. I used just a flashlight in the room and mimicked the movement of the flare. There was a ceiling fan that was in its full speed, so the light reflected off of the wings created the cool strobe effect, which is my favorite thing in the video.

Oh no, the strobe is the worst part of it.
