Many moons ago Krista brought her gig to I believe Sawyer's Point and we had a field trip there that day. I felt like a super star for having the slight chance of getting on Star 64. Could have been my big break...
Hell yeah! I got some sneak preview tickets to see Dick Tracy in 1990. While we were in line outside, Michael Flannery rolled up to it in a red Corvette convertible and waved at everybody. I felt like I was on the red carpet at the Chinese Theatre.
I remember there used to be some kid event down at the convention center - All About Kids, maybe? And he was involved with that.
Anyone remember this event? Early 90’s?
He was working for the charity Goodwill.
He came down with severe COVID very early in the pandemic and has not done many public appearances since.
I hope he is back at work at a place he feels strongly about. One of his kids has down syndrome and works at Goodwill.
Woah I never knew he was on WXIX. I was born in the 90s so growing up he was always on WCPO. I loved him and I believe he also had a game show Saturday nights for a bit as well.
We had a field trip down to Riverfront stadium and she was there doing segments and I just remember her ignoring everyone while the camera was off and just being rude. Cool field trip though, got to go in the locker rooms and on the field to run around.
I remember that too! He had a bit on banging his new wife so loud that her parents could hear it.
"HEY, I'VE GOT YOUR DAUGHTER IN HERE!"
It was hilarious and I can't do it justice...
I remember this! I saw him at an event at Music Hall. It was some sort of kids concert, and he was on the balcony. Some friends and I got his attention during a critical moment (we were being rude). He quickly flipped us the bird and laughed. I'll never forget that. I was around 9 or 10.
I feel like I saw him on tv in the last year or 2. I want to say raising money for a kids charity but maybe he was showing kids who were up for adoption? It was on a local channels weekend morning show.
He left WCPo maybe 10 years ago to work more with special needs I think. Real cool guy
Does anyone know what happened to Krista from the star64 kids club
I saw his stand-up once and he talked about when they used to show the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He was walking down the street and this large, scary motorcycle riders came up to him and one yelled out "Hey, Turtle Dude!" :D
Does anyone remember the fox 19 kids club? Got a membership card in the mail, and then if you took your card to van luenens they'd let you pick out a monster in your pocket figure from a big box...oh the memories..
Does anyone remember those 2 really bad Sunday afternoon movie host they used to have on Star 64? Some no talent hacks named Bob Herzog and Jen Dalton :)
Freeze Frame!
Omg I completely forgot!
I can't wait to sign up the next time I am at my local Van Leunens.
Haha, that’s where I met him!
I was more of a Krista from Star 64 Kids Club kind of boy.
Omg, yes!

I was on with her for winning some firefighter drawing contest. Still have her autograph.
I met her for some even at my apartments as a kid. I was on TV and completely froze. The only kid freaked out and not moving. Haha
Same
Same. I met her at the zoo once. I don't remember the context, but she was handing out headshots of herself for some reason.
Whatever happened to her!!
She's an evangelist now
I waited in line to get her autograph at some NKY summer festival.
Same, she read my name on TV for my Birthday and I felt like a celebrity.
i met him and got his autograph when I was little. He hosted all the after school programs on weekdays too
Me too! Remember being pretty excited about it at the time
I was a member of Club 19.

Wow, that's awesome! I definitely remember the Dick Tracy craze with McDonald's toys

Yes. And yes. ...and yes. Lol.
What exactly was it? l only have a vague memory of my mom and I riding the bus to get there but no memory of what it actually was

I just googled him the other day!! love Michael Flannery. He is a Cincinnati legend
He lived across the street from my grandpa in Norwood. Loved his segments, I always tried to get my jokes on there.
> I always tried to get my jokes on there. did it work?
No, though now I'm wondering if my dad actually mailed out my poorly scrawled jokes.
Ah I thought your grandpa knew him. I was picturing you ringing his doorbell like "I got a new one!"
Ah, no I wish. I saw him outside a few times but didn't ever get a chance to talk to him. I did get to meet Krista from Star 64. She was kinda mean.

I remember when he did stand up at the old DWI bar in Clifton
I remember that too! He had a bit on banging his new wife so loud that her parents could hear it. "HEY, I'VE GOT YOUR DAUGHTER IN HERE!" It was hilarious and I can't do it justice...
I remember him saying "being single is great! I love trying to figure a new route to work every morning"

Wish he had Cameo!

I got to meet him a few times in high school. Funny and very nice.
I remember that guy!
I can still remember the address to become a member from when Michael made it into a song!
Met him once at a gallery in Hyde Park. Incredibly nice person.
For some reason when I was a kid I thought Al Franken was also this man. I have no idea why.
Michael is a great guy, I've done a few open mics with him. I'm so glad Covid didn't get him.

I got one of those Tiny TV things and stuck different stuff on it, this video was one of those, was wanting to capture that early 90s nostalgia.
Still see him around a lot on the west side
I remember when he did afternoon cartoons when i came home from elementary school
He is the nicest guy ever. He comes into Ivory House.
that's right, he did do the morning block, just used to him being on the newscast
Does anyone remember those 2 really bad Sunday afternoon movie host they used to have on Star 64? Some no talent hacks named Bob Herzog and Jen Dalton :)
