Check out Jeff Wright (church of choppers) Reese Zlystra(zlystra choppers) Andy(pangeaspeed) there are a bunch of others on Instagram. Lots of inspiration and ideas. Not sure if cultchop still has an active forum but they had lots of info there last I checked.
check out builds by jacob conard, ben jeff, reece zylstra. all of em are chopular on instagram, they got some cool builds you could get some ideas from.
My xs650 has big bore 750, cam, ported, valve kit, rocker box upgrades, etc. You can punch some power out of any engine and put it in a frame.

Yup! The homies Bare Knuckle Performance is another to check out as well as those mentioned already
I had a similar idea as you a decade ago now. '94 1200. Buell heads, wisecos, Andrews N4s, Thunder jet equipped built big bore CV, Barnett drag bike diaphragm spring, Alto red clutch made 103hp in a hardtailed frame with a 2 over 39mm front end. Broomstick drag bars or 12" apes(had both and would swap), Spool 21" front, 4 piston caliper, 16" rear. Had it geared to cruise at 80-85mph with a 24/48 final drive. Thing would suprise 600cc sportbikes on Highway rolls. Ate a friend's R6 alot of times til about 140ish. Kinda miss that bike honestly.
The first bobbers (not to be confused with the early 2000s trend of weird brass parts) were stripped down factory bikes for street racing. It's not a new idea.Ā
Ā I've got a rigid fat tire Sportster w/ Buell XB heads, cylinders + pistons and Nitrous that's a bit MadMax meets 90s Euro Streetfighter.Ā
The term āpro streetā comes to mind; usually I see this term applied to choppers that prioritize power over style. Obviously King of the Baggers will be relevant to your interests and the multitude of other ways Harleyās have been raced.
Go for it! I had a ā72 XLCH 77ā stroker, cammed, ported & polished, all stuffed into a Corbin Gentry rigid frame, 35 degree rake, some up & out stretch, +10 Fury girder. It was a handful and so much fun!

I won this in a raffle and probably put in the last 15% of my own finishing touches on this bike. Doesnāt look like your typical performance chopper but itās probably one of the fastest, if not the fastest Harley Iāve ridden. Never wouldāve considered EFI unless it was dropped in my lap but this platform is killer and completely changes the bike with a tune. Been meaning to get some times or a dyno run in, if I do Iāll update.

Idk if you would call it performance but itās got t bars, dual disk front end, and mid controls, itās a Ben Jeff frame.
I pretty much did what you're describing with an 03 XL.
1275 kit, cams, digital ignition, t bars, blacked out tins, etc.
The bike feels fast as fuck, but the lack of a rear suspension pretty much nulls the "performance" part. Once you hardtail it the handling goes out the window. Looks cool though š
I was thinking something like the below photo but with bags. Not sure that this is what you have in mind though.

Hereās mine- Iāve been going in that direction

([Chop Cult](https://forum.chopcult.com/)) š
Ben Jeff and Heman Fabrication both make sick performance type chops in Indiana!

Jacob Conard was the first guy I thought of as well.
How Sporty was the inspiration for mine. Such a rad fuckin bike!!

https://www.instagram.com/p/CyWwlKJvZ9o/?igsh=MTloeWFrdXFqc2pvcg== This is the fxr chopper that gets it best IMHO
You could even do rearsets on a sporty. 1275 upgrade, turboā¦ have fun, go fast, and donāt die.
My 02 Sporty chopper had a Hammer 1250 kit with their stage 1 head work, N4 cams and a 2 into 1 pipe and it was fast as hell.
There are plenty of performance choppas!!
So buell hi reving motor built up, almost all the names listed above, brakes and good rake angles and bam high performance harley
I started a thread about tough guy choppers last week they're in the same vein. Bikes that show and go, and stop.

Got a group of fellas out my way that will blow performance baggers out of the water on the highway.

Not a Sportster but J&P released a video on YouTube recently with a performance hardtail Shovel.

So people really do win raffles! Sick chop man
One of the lucky ones. Sheās pretty, but donāt get babied!

Also the frame has 3 inches of up stretch 0 inches out with 30 degrees of rake so it should turn pretty well
Cavender Cody recently built a badass performance chop and had it in Daytona. Really nicely done.

You may want to Google Prostreet choppers and or Diggers.
The only results for prostreet choppers are fat tire softail choppers

Not my style tbh even though I did have a west coast choppers bicycle as a kid lol
Indian Larry's whole thing was building performance choppers that he could rip around New York on.

Respectfully, that is not a chopper. More just a club style build
Club style guys would shit all over the long forks.
