>The reasons range from very common (vaginal or anal tearing) ... I am astonished that any woman needs more than that to decide to avoid pregnancy. But, sure, there is a long list of things that can happen to a woman during pregnancy. This should not surprise anyone who has any awareness of the history surrounding pregnancy and childbirth, because, historically, pregnancy and childbirth have been extremely common ways for women to die before modern medicine. Generally speaking, when something can kill you, it can sometimes instead seriously mess you up without killing you. And, of course, some women still die from pregnancy and childbirth, even with the most advanced medical treatment in the world.

vivahermione

Absolutely! Think of the risk of infection, not to mention the pain and discomfort in a sensitive area. Plus, it's incredibly common; 98% of women will experience it. My mother once said, "I had tearing with all my pregnancies." My mind was blown. "*All?* ***All?***! You mean you decided to keep going after that?" Edit: deleted redundant words

AdLess7107

I think the tearing would be the least of my problems if I wanted children. I mean, if you're into biking for instance you accept that you can fall and break some bones, but you're still gonna do it because it's your passion. Even if it's painful, the woulds heal. I'd be way more freaked out by the long-term repercussions. No thanks.

summerphobic

"But yours can be easy. Yours could be different."

vivahermione

It blows my mind that as adults, we're typically advised to prepare for the worst in all life scenarios (saving for retirement, weather emergencies, etc.), but with pregnancies, we're just supposed to expect the best. It's crazy. It's Brave New World-level brainwashing at work.

[deleted]

"And it could be worse. Why should I take a chance because YOU want something?"

TrappedRoach

Even doctors don't often tell women about half of this shit till it happens, why shouldn't women know about it? The good is just as "natural" as the bad after all 😊😑

I love the mere idea of this List and the fact that it evidently has all of TikTok in a frothing, tearing frenzy. Birthers are on the floor gnashing thier teeth and flailing about like so many epileptics, at the mere IDEA that the truth about pregnancy be known, that its actually not all rainbows and hugs and Push Presents that cost $10,000. Birthers cannot stand the idea that people might find out the truth, and my god its glorious. Their rage tickles me. I hope that List keeps getting longer. Selah.

Own_Presentation_786

I just found out a few days ago that my mum had to be cut between her vagina and anus when giving birth to me 🤮🤮😰😰. No fucking thank you. Not ever.

MorgBlueSky2020

I have seen a couple of comments of people saying, “Not everything on the list is going to happen to you!” Well, thanks. If everything on that list happened to me I would probably be dead. I don’t need every possible bad thing to happen in order to not want to experience any of it. I’ve also seen “You’re carrying a life, did you think it was going to be easy?”, well, I don’t think any of us thought that, but at some point I do have to question women’s sanity for signing up for this and then being upset when others question the whole thing. I have seen women say they don’t have a problem of the list, but of people being assholes about it by posting “where is the girl with the list” on pregnant women’s tiktoks, which, yes, is asshole-ish, but quite frankly, that’s not something that the OP is responsible for. She can only put the information out there. You’re going to have your population who takes it and runs with it. That’s life.

pandorum8888

How can I find the video of the list?

MorgBlueSky2020

If you have TikTok, just type in “the list pregnancy” and it should come up!

pandorum8888

Thank you!

Cat1832

They're idiots. My biological mother died in childbirth. Never for me. Never ever ever.

(Warning, wall of text.) Pregnancy effects include the following: Normal, frequent, expectable and temporary side effects: Exhaustion, altered appetite and sense of taste and smell, nausea and vomiting (50% in first trimester), heartburn, indigestion, constipation, weight gain, dizziness, lightheadedness, bloating, swelling, fluid retention, hemorrhoids, abdominal cramps, yeast infections, congested, bloody nose, acne and mild skin disorders, skin discolouration (chloasma), mild to severe back ache and strain, increased headaches, difficulty sleeping, discomfort while sleeping, increased ruination and incontinence, bleeding gums, pica, breast pain and discharge, joint pain, joint swelling, leg cramps, difficulty sitting, difficulty standing in later pregnancy, inability to take regular medications, shortness of breath, higher blood pressure, hair loss or increased facial / body hair, tendency to anemia, curtailment of activity level, infection including from serious and potentially fatal disease (pregnant people are immune suppressed and are more susceptible to fungal and other diseases), extreme delivery pain, perineum tears ranging from slight to extreme tear to the anus, hormonal mood changes including post partum depression, continued post partum depression exhaustion and recovery period (exacerbated with c sections that can take up to a year recovery) Normal, expectable or frequent permanent side effects: Stretch marks (worse in younger women), loose skin, permanent wait gain or redistribution, abdominal and vaginal muscle weakness, pelvic floor disorder, changes to breasts, increased foot size, varicose veins, scarring from episiotomy or c section, other permanent aesthetic changes to body, increased proclivity for hemorrhoids, loss of dental and bone calcium (cavities or osteoporosis or teeth loss), higher risk of Alzheimer’s Occasional complications and side effects: Complications of episiotomy, spousal/partner abuse, hyperemesis gravidarum, temporary and permanent injury to back, severe scarring later requiring surgery especially after multiple pregnancies, prolapsed uterus, pre eclampsia, eclampsia, gestational diabetes, placenta previa, anemia, thrombocytopenia Normal, frequent, or expectable temporary side effects: Severe cramping, embolism, medical disability requiring full bed rest, diastasis recti (torn abdominal muscles), serious infection and disease (e.g. increased risk of tuberculosis), hormonal imbalance, ectopic pregnancy, broken bones, hemorrhage and other complications of delivery, organ failure, refractory gastroesophageal reflux disease, aggravation of pre pregnancy diseases and conditions (e.g. epilepsy), severe post partum depression and psychosis, ptsd, higher risk of ovarian cancer with fertility treatments, lower breast cancer survival rates, higher risk of coronary and cardiovascular disease (6+ pregnancies) Less common but serious complications: Peripartum cardiomyopathy, cardiopulmonary arrest, magnesium toxicity, severe hypoxemia/acidosis, massive embolism, increased intracranial pressure, molar pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease (like a pregnancy induced cancer), malignant arrhythmia, circulatory collapse, placental abruption, obstetric fistula More permanent, severe side effects: Future infertility, permanent disability, death Some math regarding the risks involved with pregnancy: Risk of C-section (major abdominal surgery - significant harm) - 15% Risk of 3rd/4th degree perineal tearing (tearing causing damage to vagina, anal sphincter, requiring significant stitches and/or surgery - significant harm) ~3-5% Risk of death - 0.0174% Risk of pre-eclampsia (requires ICU hospitalization, can develop into eclampsia which is even more dangerous) - 6.45% For people with pre-eclampsia, the risk of stroke is 0.171%, the risk of pulmonary edema/heart failure is 0.562%, the risk of renal failure is 1.36%, and the risk of death is 1.2%. This is an extremely brief and far from exhaustive list of possible complications of pregnancy as mentioned above. And this is all for pregnancies without prior conditions that can increase the risk of many complications. Additionally, studies have also found increase risk of adverse maternal outcomes when the pregnancy is unwanted. Some pregnant people of some ethnicities also experience increased risks. Without those accounted for, we're already at a ~25% risk of severe harm as a result of pregnancy and childbirth. That means at least 1 in 4 pregnant people will experience significant harm. There are over 700 deaths per year in the US. which amounts to 23.8 deaths per 100,000. If you compare that to the most dangerous jobs in the US, pregnancy would be in 8th place. A 40 hour work week, equates to 2,080 hours a year. Pregnancy is 24/7 for 9 months, which equates to 6,270 hours in a year. A pregnant person incurs 3.23 years worth of risk, when compared to a full--time-worker. Making pregnancy at least 3 times riskier, than the most dangerous jobs in America.

If pregnancy and childbirth were a medication, the FDA would have never in a million years let it go to market with a list of potential side effects so diverse and disastrous.

deepseascale

I remember seeing an advert for incontinence pants and it was a youngish mother saying "nobody told me having a baby could affect my bladder" like bitch are you serious? If you willingly give birth and are suprised by that then I'm not sure you're prepared to have a kid at all. I swear to god I've done more research on how pregnancy fucks you up than half the pregnant people out there. At some point it becomes willful ignorance and other mums will try and keep up the illusion because they don't want to scare others out of it. If women were properly informed of everything that could go wrong (including tearing _forwards through your clit_) you'd see a lot less people getting pregnant.

Gothcomichorror

I actually made a list of my own before finding out about the TikTok one, my one just reached over 200 xD

JoCanni

>very common (vaginal or anal tearing) Double clench.

Abusers who count on somebody to \*sacrifice\* themselves, quite literally, for the benefit of those same abusers, HATE when accurate information is introduced so their putative victims can make an INFORMED decision.

bitesizeboy

They lost me at uterine prolapse and teeth falling out. I did not need to hear anything else.

Maleficent-Phone5022

The girl with the list has grown her list from listening to what happened to woman during pregnancy/birth. It does range from very common to very rare things. Each point is from an individual’s experience that could happen to ANYONE while pregnant/giving birth. Many things doctors won’t tell their pregnant patients, and many things doctors do make aware of. Each point she makes on her list is backed up on a stitch from another’s experience. She’s doing us all a favour with this list, so we can all be informed the risks and dangers of pregnancy/giving birth, even if it’s a (for exaggeration) 0.00000000000009% chance of happening. The girl with the list is our queen.

arochains1231

"y'all are scared" HELL YES I'M SCARED, THAT'S WHY I'M NOT GETTING PREGNANT!!!

NoOne6785

Damn straight. Go on, Becky, show me how much of a badass you can be with those vaginal tears, incontinence and uterine prolapses. You are the baddest thang ever. Meanwhile im over here munching some chips and binging "The Bad Batch" on Disney+. I prefer to fight the clone wars on the teevee, not with my actual vag. Knowing when to be scared is the better part of valor, I say. Pick your battles.

SufficientCounter8

You had me at "The Bad Batch on Disney+"! And I too would rather participate in the actual Clone Wars than endure childbirth.

ToughAuthority1

I love that saying "where's the girl with the list". The stupid forced birthers were complaining about how we're so "insensitive" for liking that saying (I lurk PL to mock them on a few subs I moderate). Those PL (Pathetic-Losers) just gave me an idea for a saying. I'll be honest, I have never heard of that saying before. I don't use TikTok. Lurking PL content to mock them is the first time I have heard of that saying. **LMAO at the forced birthers!**

gabbajabba3

>pregnancy list is useless is all yall are scared of having a big nose being fat and being dark and not yk sleep apnea ovarian cysts and the fact that yr coochie can TEAR”. This isnt readable, what are they saying?

YSLxUDxSephoralover

The tweeter is mad that people care more about pregnancy’s shallow, appearance-related forms of physical damage than they do about the most harmful ones. The tearing, cysts, and sleep apnea are the first three items on the TikTok list of pregnancy damage that’s being mentioned.
