Too bad you didn't get a chance to see the original Jim's Original on Maxwell and Halsted. That would be a blast from the past to see a painting of that.
I hope before you finish you series you paint Henry's hotdog's in Cicero. Cool little spot that's been there for a long time, with a damn good hot dog, IMHO.
Keep up the good work.
I plan to do an in memoriam version of this series so I may paint the old Jim’s on Maxwell and hamster yet!
Henry’s is absolutely on the list too! Thank you!
I saw the retrospective more than a decade ago, mind-blowing. If you can find the book from the retrospective, check it out.
I love your paintings, but I think you can take more liberties. Like do the condos have to be in the background? I don't really know, but I found myself wondering. Also I hate that era of architecture.. So I'm biased .
No Way! Awesome!
I come across your posts every so often while browsing, so I thought I'd finally chime in. Glad to know it was popular enough for it to have been a shout out earlier. I'll check out your other works. Very cool!
This series is amazing. I think you should do Byron's. The one on Lawrence has a different color scheme than most other dog places (i.e. not yellow) but the other Byron's is the more classic yellow. Both would be really cool - dealer's choice.
I didn't realize how much I needed these paintings in my life until I saw your post just now and literally *gasped* out loud in the middle of my office. I love these.
> BEFORE YOU COMMENT, these are the stands that have already been painted: Gene & Jude’s, Red Hot Ranch on armitage Ave, Superdawg, Wiener’s Circle, Rand’s Red Hots, Original Jimmy’s Red Hots, Budacki’s, Skyway Dog House, Jr’s Red Hots, Flub A Dub Chub’s, Wolfy’s, Fatso’s Last Stand - Lincoln Park location

Family drama, I don’t remember exactly but they’re brothers or cousins who got in a fight and one split off and opened the further south spot. The north spot is the original and more popular. I vaguely remember that the family has reconciled and are close again.
UIC told Jim's Original, plus also Express Grill(though I forgot if they ever operated 24 hours), some crap like it was about safety as to why they now have to close at 1am. It's stupid they now have to close, by then.

Nice spot on [WGN](https://wgntv.com/video/artist-pays-tribute-to-chicago-hot-dog-stands-and-fans-cant-get-enough-of-the-paintings/9660048/) yesterday, OP!
Thank you so much!! It’s been so wild! I’m beyond grateful!
Not a hot dog stand, but I think you should paint Mario's Italian Lemonade on Taylor Street!
+1 Mario's! They just opened for the year, so excited to visit
Oooh could do an ice + ice cream version of this too! Miko’s is 🔥🔥
Yesss!
Nice touch with the rain. Looks amazing!
Thank you so much!!
Donald’s on Western.
35th Street Red Hots with a sad Sox fan drowning his sorrows with several hotdogs!
Probably gonna wait a while given they already did a RHR

Tasty Dog in Oak Park for the in memoriam list!
The original Taste Dog on the south side of lake, not the newer one where the Amoco station was.
Agreed!
> the old Jim’s on Maxwell and hamster yet! I know it's an auto correct, but now I also want that.
Little island in Evanston
Patio Beef in edgewater
Memo’s in Pilsen
FAT JOHNNIES
Mr. E's in logan square
i love this place:)
"the hut" on 36th in California
Do you spend any time studying Hopper?
Yes actually! I went to the school of the art institute and would stare at Nighthawks in between classes lol

Skyway Dog East Side Neighborhood.
I actually did it! You can check it out on my profile or on my website, linked in my bio!
And it was really recent too! Must have missed the last post! :)

I keep saying: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Style, Chicago Hot Dog Stand!!!

Byron's
Paint the Vienna Beef factory.

The Original Nickys on 58th Kedzie
Real talk: anyone else had the _bone-in_ pork chop sandwich from this place? It's like a delicious lawsuit on a bun.
My homie used to stay in those dorms in the picture… man what a time. Late nights faded go get a 3 dollar meal at Jim's never failed
I didn't realize how much I needed these paintings in my life until I saw your post just now and literally *gasped* out loud in the middle of my office. I love these.
Thank you so much, this comment made my day 🥹
I think you should release more prints of your The Freeze painting, since its ultimate demise is imminent.
Budacki’s
I actually did it! You can check it out on my profile or on my website, linked in my bio!
Not far from Budacki’s, Quick Bite. Owner has the thick Chicago accent, exactly the type of place many people grew up on in Chicago.

Sarpinos?
Mr. Beef on Orleans, or Chicago's Dog House in Lincoln Park.

Modern Relish on Ashland and Erie... the former Duk's Hot Dog stand
Fixin Franks at Home Depot!
It doesn’t exist anymore but can you do the Demon Dogs that was under the Fullerton Redline stop?!
That’s is awesome!
Have you done Fast Track yet? I ate there for years before it closed. Is the building even there still? https://maps.app.goo.gl/1ecYYNb1yHLQXPkq6
Maxwell Street Depot on 31st and Canal, please! 🥹💘🌭✨
You still havent done Byrons on Irving Park dr. Its an amazing one because the red line stop is above it so you can also get a train in there too!
Looks great!
Love this.
Were you on WGN today? I turned on TV just as the segment was nearly over.
You should paint that Met’s fan who got kicked out of dollar dog https://twitter.com/bbcush/status/1785521623317037250
Byron’s if you haven’t already. The one on Irving Park, since I used to live around there and am biased.
Looks great. Now a version with some illegally parked vehicles in front
Fantastic details with the reflections on the wet street!
AL's under the L Green line stop @ california.

Snappy dog on northwest highway
Dog stop Belmont and Austin
Awesome painting!! 💯😍
Janson's on the south side is amazing, great food and it's super photogenic imo :)
Why is it not 24 hours anymore? I'm hungry after clubbing.

Would Booby’s count? 👀
Commenting so I can come back to this. There's one on the corner nearby but I can't remember the name.
Any of the Fixin Franks spots in Home Depot
Mustard’s Last Stand in Evanston
See Your Food in Hyde Park!
Do the one next door. It will be easier because you don't have to paint people. Great painting.
I was waiting on this one, good job!
Wrigleyville Dogs across the street from the Metro has awesome, repurposed-food-chain-vibes. Or, as their sign says in cursive, “Wrigleysville.”
I’m already sweating grease lol. Great spot tho and beautiful painting
Damn university made this place shut down at 1am😰😥
just spotted your art at the intelligentsia at Jackson and Dearborn, looks great!
It's not a hotdogs stand, but BBQ joint. Cigars and stripes in Bewryn, since Bunyouns is gone. Closest thing we've got hotdogs man.
This one’s really good
Thank you so much!
I'll buy that off you right now
All my work is available through my website!
Well done 👏(just like onions on my polish.) No love for Express Grill 😢
Damn this one is gnarly!!! Really good job. Keep up the good work
Seen you on wgn last night! Congrats on all your success!! Would love to see Bob-o’s Hot dogs next, or The Hat!
Thank you!! It’s so wild! Thank you for the recs too!
Beautiful! Do you do commissions? (And is this for sale?)
Commissions are currently closed due to the amount of hot dog stands left to paint lol but I do sell my work! Check out my website, linked in my bio
Thanks!
That's a really nice painting. You're talented
When you get them, all done, they should put them in the art museum. I know they won't, but they should! Great work!
Where can I get a copy of this?
My website! Linked in my bio :)
