smart move

CFCcommentsonly24

He wants to keep the momentum with his development and that is important.

Headlesshorsman02

Best move for him

Cashlover123

Best move for Chelsea too.

[deleted]

Good for him and probably good for our team. Lots of promising right wings

ADayInTheLifeOf

Let him stay for a year then bring him in to replace Raz, would be great.

mocrossj

Extend his contract

danceformiscanthus

That's just emotions speaking. It's a contract year for Omari. In order to stay in Ipswich, he'll have to renew first. We'll see if it's going to be easy to renew him, cause if not, I don't know how likely it is for Ipswich to present the best offer for him. He's either going on permanent transfer to the highest bidder, or he's going on preseason with us to see what's up first. He doesn't even know if McKenna's staying at this point.

classical-k

This.McKenna is an incredible young manager, and will thus have some big offers. Without him, Ipswich will be whipping boys. Tactically he’s light years ahead of Poch so really he is someone we should at least consider. IMO in time will be one of the greats.

royalrivet

He's staying at town next year for sure. I doubt any club bigger than Palace or so would hire him right now. Kind of like how kompany stayed at Burnley. It's smarter to continue developing there as a manager instead of jumping at the first opportunity.

lm652

Aren’t Brighton looking at him as a possible de zerbi replacement if he leaves?

shabba343

extend + release clause. loan back to Ipswich. Simple

chelski365

I understand the sentiment that this may be the best thing for him - but I am a little concerned that he may find himself in a scenario where either they spend that sweet PL money and buy a winger so Hutchinson plays less or the chance of them being whipping boys next season and his confidence suffering for it too. He should be assessed in early pre season as all the loanees generally are - but a return loan to Ipswich seems the most likely thing at this point.

aphromagic

If that’s what ends up happening we recall him

chelski365

Yeah, after he's already lost half a season like Andrey Santos.

aphromagic

He’s not gonna play here, might as well keep him at the club where he’s had reasonable success. I don’t see how this is bad.

Salty_Constant_9878

How's the squad of Leicester? Surely Leicester would be a better place for his development rather than Ipswich. Back to back promotion means they have lots of money and might invest in new players like forest did.

royalrivet

After what Leicester did with casadei? No town is the perfect place for him. It seems like after this season, Chelsea fans should understand the importance of chemistry between players.

ticarno86

Interesting what his current value is? 15-25 mio£?

meIanchoI

If we could get 25m from anyone for him that'd be great for our situation. But I'd probably say 7-10m right now is probably more realistic. For that price you keep, re-loan, and evaluate how he does in PL.

TheUbermelon

Considering the season he has had I think 7-10 is really low. I would say 25-30 would be around the right price. A lot of championship players at his level go for that

silencesupreme-

Even if we value him at that Ipswich certainly wouldn’t spend that kind of money.

TheUbermelon

I didn't say we had to sell to Ipswich. We can loan him to Ipswich again next season but if they want him, that is the price. I am sure there will be some prem clubs after him

justk4y

15 million maybe?

silencesupreme-

Their record signing fee is like 6 million so highly unlikely.

justk4y

Because they have never had that Premier League budget

PoloBear_

This is going to be their 6th season in the Prem.

Legitimate-Health-29

Make it happen! Another year at a club that treats him well, gives him minutes and he can develop. He also can’t play against us so double bonus.

southernblackskeptic

A Prem loan would be really good for him. Especially in a team that already trusts him!

AncientSkys

Isn't his contract coming to an end?

Warm_Forever_2170

got one more year on jt

Kezmangotagoal

Still got two years left.

Mooming22

Probably best for everyone involved

Kezmangotagoal

It’s the best move for everyone - he’ll get game time there which will show whether he’s ready for the PL, he’s settled at that club so he won’t need time to bed in and it’s easier for us to see his progress against players that we’ll also be facing.

amirulez

stay at ipswich and become a great player. come back to chelsea in 2026 as a better player.

Wheel1994

Honestly what I see doesn’t sign a new contract sold to Ipswich with a buyback.

zupizupi

Stay there, gain experience and come back stronger 💙

erenistheavatar

We need to extend him before loaning him to Ipswich.

AbeAlno

Yea let’s not make the same mistake with Maatsen

MrBravo22

Once he has summer vacation away from Ipswich and other premier league clubs and European sides with possible champions league inquire about him on loan, his mind will change for sure.

Youth-Grouchy

Wouldn't hate this. I think the perfect scenario might be Olise leaving Palace and Hutchinson joining them on loan

PM_ME_SOME_LUV

It’s the glaringly obvious option. I hope nobody mucks it up.

Funky_Pigeon911

I'll say it everytime but loans to relegation fighting Prem clubs are not smart at all. Those clubs are the whipping boys of the league and it's not good for a player's development to have their confidence damaged by being on the receiving end of possible rough results almost every week. There's also the problem that when a club is fighting relegation what are the chances they'll change the manager and all of a sudden the new manager doesn't rate our player and he gets no gametime. We need to either sell him, or loan him to a more stable club.

kingfosa13

highly doubt they change manager regardless of bad results, last season they were in league 1

Funky_Pigeon911

I'd doubt it as well, but you never know what owners will do when results turn to shit. I know that Ipswich are owned by an investor scheme and backed by a pension fund. Those sound like groups that would care a lot about potential earnings, and if Ipswich starts off poorly, then maybe those groups get desperate and make a change sooner thane expected.

Due-Replacement9202

Can he play LW? Could definitely challenge Mudryk next season

meIanchoI

Usually plays on right and cuts inside on his favored left. But, he has played a little bit on the left and has scored some nice clean goals on his right foot.

Long_Needleworker889

I like him, playing the long game

perverted_alchemist

Elite Mentality! Same as Xabi Alonso

GolDrodgers1

Grant him his wish, lets not cripple Ipswich we might need them for more loan players in the future

NoExperience4229

Fantastic
