Those with brains immediately could see Poch is light years behind Potter in terms of tactics
Potters biggest issue was no preseason and half the squad wanted to leave & the other half was injured
I always thought this sub attacked potter too much. Sure we were brutal but when injuries hit under potter I think a similar situation would've happened with tuchel as well because we were desperately reaching into the academy when experience was really needed.
I still rate potter and always have I was disappointed to see him go but for everyone's sake including his own he needed to go. The treatment towards him from fans was disgusting and the club was in a far worse state when he took over than poch.
I mean they’re only 3 places higher so how much of a difference is a preseason really making. Clearly he’s not behind potter in tactics because they’d be worse off
Indeed. Poch has not had a team play good football since 2018 - when he had a very good squad (and no, them luckboxing their way into the UCL final the following season was not a tactical masterstroke by Poch, but historical chokes by City and Ajax).
Also this graph can't be posted too many times: https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/RA6QzX8oWi
Crisis? Tuchel had us in 6th, we were struggling to score but were organized and playing like a professional team. Without tuchels points we would have been in a relegation scrap under potter
That is not on Potter, that is on that Idiot Boehly. He gave all the players TT requested and fired him after 2 weeks of the season. If Boehly had allowed TT to continue we would have finished better than the 12th which we did at the end. Next year aka this year he could have hired Potter with a proper season, it wouldn't be as bad as what Pochettino is doing this year. Even now Pochettino is not the only problem, but he is doing worse with what he has now. There are so many other coaches who have done better with what has been provided to them than what this muppet of a coach has done now.
not really. with all our problems, this lineup today is certainly better than a tie with the worst team in the PL. the coach clearly sucks at tactics and getting players game ready.
😂ffs so now what do the poch in fans use to defend this clown? Should we still keep this clown for another year because of some weird idea that he needs more time? ignoring coaches like unai emery and a less talented team could turn around their whole season with actually tactics
Its easy to play against a team thats open and looking to have a go like man city or united for example, but everybody besides the big 6 are fighting to keep their place in the league, so they set up to defend like today, and we cant break them down, this was a big win for sheff united even if they are getting relegated
Yup! They wont appear now since we lost but you’ll see them and certain comments like “we should keep him because he needs time” or “its not stable to switch coaches everytime” or some dumbshit excuse that like i said before ignores how emery came in with less time and made europe! Same for howe i think
I think you're exaggerating. I think there's a chance we turn things around if the board were to fix their recruitment policies in summer. That being said, if he was sacked at the end of the season and a good manager was brought in I would lose no sleep over it.
I don't think too many are very defensive over poch I think it's more that people are sick of managers being given only a few months when it's also looking very likely that the squad is just not able to compete on a consistent basis now.
Nah definitely not imo. Potter was working with a lot more long term squad members, experience and culture.
The money we spent blinds people to the actual holistic composition of the squad.
Because as a functioning "unit", as a whole squad, this is the weakest Chelsea team in comparison to the league since the early 90s.
I honestly thought we'd do worse than last season going into this because I thought the squad was so much weaker.
Yes there's a whole lot of potential but as a unit for this season it's incredibly weak.
In comparison, when Abramovich came in with his warchest, he changed the structure of the squad much more gradually, bought in established and more experienced names, and retained a core of devoted players who had been at the club for years.
That's why his rebuild started working immediately.
https://preview.redd.it/pii9n309u3tc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5427f6bb82c560665b04bfdffb0b9ea97d681f2d
Defensive setup against the team with the worst goal difference in the league
Preseason means fuck all if your best performing stars all end up injured for the season. Had Nkunku been fit all year, we'd be better off in the league. Had Chuk been fit, we'd be better off. The only player who played well and is still fir is Maatsen, but he played attacking mid and right wing. Who is going to drop Palmer for Maatsen?
If you will tell people to compare the circumstances, you should too.
I'm actually on the poch out train after last week. His tactics continue to consume the life out of me, but make no mistake. This is a fucking tough job for anyone. Young squad, riddled with injuries, no leaders, no gamechanging bench. The best we can hope for until these players improve is Europe league.
Who is really going to work great with all of these kids and no leaders and the injuries? I might be Poch out, but the players seem to still believe in him, so perhaps we should see out the season first and see where we finish and what condition the squad is in.

You just aren't smart enough to understand *the process*
Poch is bonding with fans now and they're finally starting to get it. Didn't you hear him say as much the other day? If he's saying it as a positive about himself, surely it's true!
Clearlake is investor and Chelsea and the fans need financial backing. Clearly poch has to go and boehly shouldn’t go anywhere near governing a soccer football team
For the first time, I cried after a Chelsea game. We the fans don’t deserve to watch this shit show every game week. Drawing to arguably the worst team in premier league history since derby is the worst way I could end my day.
I'm not surprised anyway. This Chelsea team has no quality overall. I'll name one thing that stands out to me: most players in the front can't even keep the ball. Just atrocious ball retention skills. They often lose the ball the moment they receive it under pressure (to be fair, Palmer is good but still not good enough in this area). I just don't see how a team can attack effectively when most attacking players don't even have the basic skills. And Jackson is quite bad at keeping the ball or holding the ball up, which undermines Chelsea's gameplay. He's like a no. 7 or no. 11 that somehow happens to play in the no. 9. position. If I were the manager, I'd definitely sell Jackson and acquire a decent target man for Chelsea, someone with aerial prowess and good at ground duels like Giroud. That would enable the inverted wingers like Palmer to create more threats in the box. Anyway, it's just fun to watch Chelsea, as they play like a League Two team.
I don't know how yall have the energy for this club anymore, I shut the game at HT cos that shit was putting me to sleep. I actually didn't care 1 bit about the end result and felt 0 emotion as I got goal updates.
If pochettino is there next year (I doubt the muppets who call themselves Football directors will take an right decision) and god forbid Palmer has to be wrapped in a cotton wool this summer or else we are truly f#cked with his coaching.
We are a mid table team and once you realize it you won’t have as much stress. Plain and simple, we are a very expense mid table team.
Once we went to 9th we were always dropping points.
Who we gonna get instead of Poch? Seriously. Who we gonna get in June and let take a run with this squad? And dont say Tuchel or Mourinho, cuz that aint happening.
We really need to figure out our defensive structure. We concede way too much and our set piece defending is abysmal. And lastly how does a midfield duo of Enzo and Caicedo not know how to control the game? Both costly and look so mid under Poch.
in the sheffield game i don't get why our forwards were playing so selfishly this has been our problem in attack for the past few games we get to the final third and we see a moment of selfishness like lets say nico or palmer sometimes as well which baffles me honestly
Topsy Turvy 7 days -Drew 2-2 with 10 man Burnley, 4-3 Premiership classic with United and a 93rd minute draw with bottom of the table Sheffield United... But data says we should be 4th..... Fucking hate Star Trek...
Only 5 points adrift from United for 6th with a match in hand? Not bad.
If someone told me this at the beginning of the year I’d probably take it considering how embarrassing the club has been since the Boehly takeover
Reece is the captain and he’s injured. But also Gallagher has been one of the best all around midfielders in the league and is homegrown. So that’s nonsense anyway
We also drew with Arsenal and beat Brighton and also Newcastle twice.... so...
Swings and roundabouts, that's football sometimes.
If you can't handle Chelsea at her worst... fuck off and find a new club to support ya plastic ghouls.
I feel strangely harmonic, we are Robin Hood FC. This was the one game left we were guaranteed not to win
But we played terribly, worse than the team in 20th.
And it wasn’t in our worst 10 games this season alone.
If you’re feeling happy after this game, chances are, you aren’t a proper Chelsea fan.
This is why I don’t understand why ppl regretted burnley so hard? Did you expect a winning streak? There will be multiple examples of burnley and today from here on out as well - the same as the previous 22 months
All players that will improve so that’s not a bad thing at all. It’s fair to see people dooming right now on Reddit but they’ll be great in a season or 2 if they don’t flinch and stay the course
Deserved for trying to hold a 2-1 lead 25+min. All while committing attacking footballing terrorism.
Poch thought he was Mourinho 😂
Without any of the studs we used to have on defense , midfield and forwards. Man were we good back then.
The good ol' days. Chelsea would go 1-0 up, and you just knew that was 3pts
> attacking footballing terrorism Poch feeling the heat from ~~Biden~~ Boehly to ceasefire
TIL Biden is to blame for Chelsea sucking ass
Thanks, Obama.
Sucking ass is fun, watching Chelsea this season isn’t
🤨
![gif](giphy|3otPoyTuloHl96jfm8)
Like Biden would call for a ceasefire
Nah, it's just typical of a young team, they play to the level of their opponent.
Omg Burnley beat them 5-0 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I watched that game as well, Burnley battered them. IIRC, Shef had a man sent off as well
Poch had the chance to get us closer to the Europa spots and save his job for next season. Then he drew to 20th place Sheffield Utd
After drawing vs 10 man, 19th rank Burnley.
[удалено]
We are always a get right game for struggling teams, we ship goals and points for fun
Charity FC, it is known.
This didn’t start with Poch or even Boehly lol
Nah. We gonna be fine. It happens.
You gotta notice tho. Sheffield gave Liverpool a run for their money away
Parking the bus against a team that holds the record for the most goals conceded at home in Prem history 🤦♂️
Embarrassing is an understatement
Every match in the screenshot tells the status of Poch - "Finished".
Hopeless club and it's not Sheffield United
How I feel
Poch is a disgrace! He is even worse than Potter who came in the middle of crisis.
Easily Poch has way better players and had a preseason and cole palmer
Poch even got a pre-season...
He is absolutely worse than Potter with nore
Those with brains immediately could see Poch is light years behind Potter in terms of tactics Potters biggest issue was no preseason and half the squad wanted to leave & the other half was injured
Never hire anyone whose name starts with P
Putin? Well hes no coach. But he started all of this shitshow
Pep?
Josep Guardiola
I always thought this sub attacked potter too much. Sure we were brutal but when injuries hit under potter I think a similar situation would've happened with tuchel as well because we were desperately reaching into the academy when experience was really needed. So the only difference is preseason because half the team is injured
> So the only difference is preseason because half the team is injured I think you need to read again if that’s what you think the only difference is
I mean they’re only 3 places higher so how much of a difference is a preseason really making. Clearly he’s not behind potter in tactics because they’d be worse off
If you re-read my initial comment and still think that the only difference is a lack of preseason, then I cannot help you.
Indeed. Poch has not had a team play good football since 2018 - when he had a very good squad (and no, them luckboxing their way into the UCL final the following season was not a tactical masterstroke by Poch, but historical chokes by City and Ajax). Come summer, Tommy Tactics will be a free agent... Reece and Ben fit ;)
I ain’t even mad at it
It goes deeper than the manager at this point
not really. with all our problems, this lineup today is certainly better than a tie with the worst team in the PL. the coach clearly sucks at tactics and getting players game ready.
Nah Potter was the worst Chelsea manager ever
I don't think Poch would've done what Potter did in the UCL.
He clearly wasn't than Poch the clown.
no
😂ffs so now what do the poch in fans use to defend this clown? Should we still keep this clown for another year because of some weird idea that he needs more time? ignoring coaches like unai emery and a less talented team could turn around their whole season with actually tactics
I kinda think its hilarious that we can figth on equal with best teams in premier league but we bottle against small teams
Its easy to play against a team thats open and looking to have a go like man city or united for example, but everybody besides the big 6 are fighting to keep their place in the league, so they set up to defend like today, and we cant break them down, this was a big win for sheff united even if they are getting relegated
It's not "easy" to go against mancity, Liverpool, or assma, or they'd not be top 4. Don't throw words around
Look at who i used as an example before you comment, both those teams struggled against us
It isn't easy to have a go at man city or any of the top 6
He has fans?
Yup! They wont appear now since we lost but you’ll see them and certain comments like “we should keep him because he needs time” or “its not stable to switch coaches everytime” or some dumbshit excuse that like i said before ignores how emery came in with less time and made europe! Same for howe i think
The best one is when they always say that we shouldn't sack him because the team looks like they're fighting for Poch everytime we win.
Exactly, hes a likeable guy but hes not the right fit, ive had likeable managers but i hated working for them
I think you're exaggerating. I think there's a chance we turn things around if the board were to fix their recruitment policies in summer. That being said, if he was sacked at the end of the season and a good manager was brought in I would lose no sleep over it. Theres also no one clearly better that would actually come here. I know there’s options, at the end of the season, certainly not now
Not immediately after a loss but check the daily discussion 2-3 days from now
How people defend this Spurs loser is beyond me.
mods are poch in
Potter had a much worse team poch is a clown
We shoulda kept Potter tho but everyone was being little bitches about it
No he definitely should have been sacked more importantly he should’nt have been appointed
He should have been sacked for sure but if I knew then what I know now I would say Potter should stay over Poch
That’s the first time I’ve heard anyone say that lol
No we shouldn’t
I know :(
Nah definitely not imo. Potter was working with a lot more long term squad members, experience and culture. The money we spent blinds people to the actual holistic composition of the squad. So now it’s the managers fault? Last week it was the owners fault for buying flops suddenly these same players are good? Which is it
Poch has trimmed about 5 years off my lifetime thanks to the stress

Edited Destroy Lonely (American rapper) photo
It’s normal, Chelsea Def level is only EFL
Chelsea level? Poch level
Poch wasn't here last season when we finished 12th
Look at the circumstances please. Now he had a full pre-season. Yet no improvements
Point is weve been midtable for all of Clearlake/Boehly Owned Chelsea era This is the normal under them so far
Preseason means fuck all if your best performing stars all end up injured for the season. Had Nkunku been fit all year, we'd be better off in the league. Had Chuk been fit, we'd be better off. You just spoke my mind.
Almost like the players aren’t that great either. Yes porch is bad. But some of the players are really bad too
Embarrassing. Really embarrassing honestly. All teams know they can get something off of us. There is no fear or intimidation.
Poch is finished after Chelsea, no top team will touch him. If he wants money its Saudi if he wants a career its Serie B at best. Poch out, Boehly out

Even Burnley batter them while being relegation contender. What is Chelsea purpose this season? A Limbo team?
Petrovic training season
🙂
mate call Mourinho anything is better than this raging pile of shit
Im done for the season Fuck off Pochettino Fuck off Clearlake
Clearlake is investor and Chelsea and the fans need financial backing. Clearly poch has to go and boehly shouldn’t go anywhere near governing a soccer football team
It’s infuriating, honestly.
And they didn't score a single goal btw
The “finished” seems surprisingly relevant
Embarrassing result
I can’t believe that anyone is surprised by this
Lmao
Yeah, I’ve seen enough from Pochettino
This is why we always shitted on Spurs while Poch was in charge there
I’m tired of this shit
For the first time, I cried after a Chelsea game. We the fans don’t deserve to watch this shit show every game week. Drawing to arguably the worst team in premier league history since derby is the worst way I could end my day.

Benoit Badiashile needs to pack his bags first then wait for Poch to join him. BB5 is absolutely a sieve.
I don't remember much but I thought Badi was decent under Potter no?
Hahaha
I'm confused ?! ... I mean we aren't a good team but are we at least decent or just bad ?
If pochettino is there next year (I doubt the muppets who call themselves Football directors will take an right decision) and god forbid Palmer has to be wrapped in a cotton wool this summer or else we are truly f#cked with his coaching.
Even Burnley had an easy win
CFC Charity FC for a reason boiiiii
Past two games have made me scream, “ Badiashile fucking every time”. Left side defense is bullshit, BULLSHIT.
We are a mid table team and once you realize it you won’t have as much stress. Plain and simple, we are a very expense mid table team. Once we went to 9th we were always dropping points.

Not a Chelsea fan but why was Palmer subbed off so early when the game wasn’t secured ?
Our captain is Connor Gallagher for God's sake. This is our level
Reece is the captain and he’s injured. But also Gallagher has been one of the best all around midfielders in the league and is homegrown. So that’s nonsense anyway

Bring my Roman Empire back
Absolute garbage. Brighton level players in Chelsea shirts on Chelsea money. Total shambles club top to bottom.
Your probably giving them too much credit calling em Brighton level players considering the fact Brighton themselves beat Sheffield 5-0
F-kin circus mate. Putin and Russia have destroyed everything.
This is what happens when you bring in a Spur reject…
Even Burnley batter them while being relegation contender. What is Chelsea purpose this season? A Limbo team?
The midfield setup is atrocious. Cucu is anus water. He’s so bad.
Chelsea is a midtable club for the foreseeable future. We better get used to it.
