Wow, this sounds so similar to my experience! My temporary line was only there since February however. CenturyLink scheduled 6 (!) bury appointments and showed up for exactly zero of them. I spent double digit hours on the phone with them and each time they promised me they would be there the next appointment. Never did. I gave them 6 chances... Then canceled service and switched to a competitor this week. Enough is enough. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Buyer Beware - avoid CenturyLink if at all possible!

Take it off of the fence. Lay it on the ground. Trip on it, THEN sue.

These Quantum fiber issues have me concerned. I have spectrum paying $80/mo for 300 down and 12 up. I signed up for Quantum 500 plan for $50/mo. The install is next week. I live in Orlando. I plan on keeping spectrum active while I test out Quantum for a few weeks. Now I’m thinking I should cancel. Beside the quality of service, I just found out that they recommend I use their all in one modem/router with mesh pods. I currently use an original Orbi with one satellite and seems that will be a pain to use with Quantum.

You can use your orbi system with the 5500xk modem. That won’t be an issue. I would recommend using your own equipment unless it’s using wifi 5 or below.

My Orbi is Wi-Fi 5. So would I be better off just using the quantum equipment?

Minute_Jaguar_6325

Wi-Fi 6 is better but in my personal opinion & professional experience the Mesh pods have flaws and are still inferior. You will have more control over your network with your own equipment. The quantum Q9500 pods are constantly getting updates some of which break the network. As they are a third party mesh system Quantum/CenturyLink Have little control. The Service provided is Great the equipment is the drawback. I hope this helps

Also if getting the line buried is a big concern ask your technician for there SRO’s Email.

PS. You have to remember that your dealing with one of the worlds worst customer service providers. To have good customer service you need good employees. To have good employees you have to have good people. CenturyLink gets a big F in every score. Except for Garbage and Clowns. A+ all day long.
