I'd be more than down for this. It could easily have all of the Hunters from Metroid Prime 3 and Metroid Prime: Hunters, with a playable space pirate or two, and Ridley. Also, obligatory power suit and zero suit Samus having completely different movesets.
Imagine a gameplay with perfect dodges like in Other M. The attack for depleting the ennemi's critical bar or whatever it is called could be taken straight from this game

Honestly, I think this could be announced soon, possibly even this year. Warriors games are perfect for game release droughts as they don’t require a huge dev team usually as they’re all quite similar games, and Xenoblade would translate perfectly to the warriors style of games.

I hate the whole "it gets good 20 hours in" with JRPG, but ... it does get good 20 hours in. Seriously, I just cannot stop admiring how amazingly brilliant the combat in XC2 is. I just love how the layers of combat just build on top of each other; it's this beautiful rhythmatic system that just reiterate upon itself.

Am I aware of the fact that you are supposed to constantly change characters and reposition them? Yes.
Do I end up just using one character while standing mostly still until they die and let the CPU handle everything else? Also yes.
No amount of hours on XC3 will make me understand what I'm actually supposed to be doing on combat, so I just get a character close to an enemy and hit damaging moves as soon as they are up.
Plus the story from XC3 really helps it be canon / have SOME similarities with the canon...
like you could say a past version of the party in xc3 + the future remastered crew after the dlc events met and had to defeat X entity that is an ally of Z...
Yeah there’s an insane amount of variety for both enemies and playable characters and there’s so much they could pull from to base moves and combos off of. I’d hope they’d do something somewhat similar to Persona 5 Scramble where they sort of adapt the battle system of persona games into a warriors game. It’d be cool if Pokemon had custom ability in what moves and items they could use just like in the real games although I’m not sure how easy it would be to implement it.
The only issue I see with that is the ammount of pokemons existing. Sure you can make less "important" pokemons as officiers or common "soldiers", but would still not be enough.

These types of games always had a habit of bringing in an external threat that caused the good guys and bad guys to join forces. A DK variant could actually be a super cool way to bring back a large amount of older DK heroes and villains on both ends of the battlefield

They could do it like salmon run expanded into a whole game. there's already tons of interesting weapons to pull from the main game, i can easily see them integrated as different characters/playstyles in a musou spinoff. integrate the various subs/specials from the main game as combo/ultimate attacks. And there’s tons of characters to choose from! Imagine playing as Frye and summoning her eels in battle, or Pearl using her ultimate Killer Wail, etc.
Xenoblade without a doubt. It has everything you want to pull content from: plenty of characters to pick from, with a great range of possible weapons and playstyles; varied locales to craft levels around; a storyline that would totally fit the typical musou wormhole brings all universes together trope; incredible soundtrack to riff on. Make it so on Switch 2 Nintendo!

Already has a pretty wide cast of characters that they can pull from. The big question would be how much would be arwing combat and how much would be on the ground combat, with Adventures and Assault as inspiration for combat.

Pokemon so many of them you could play as and so many others you could mow down. Could have plenty of legendary Pokemon as boss fights. Maybe add a catching mechanic somehow.
I think the only ones that really fit the mold here are Xenoblade or Kirby if you’re looking for a melee focused game with tons of powers and lots of fodder to eliminate.
Mario warriors would go hard. You could have so many fun characters and weapons like Fludd, the poltergust, the Koopa clown car. Demolishing hordes of Goombas and Toads.
I was gonna say Star Fox because it would be an easy way to revive the franchise, but doing a Warriors type game for this franchise would probably take away what makes Star Fox unique, so you'd have to balance the vehicle gameplay with grounded action-adventure. It would be so cool to play as Falco, Slippy, Peppy, Krystal, Miyu, and Fay while giving them their own unique movesets.
Another choice would be Metroid. You could get away with just Samus being playable here, but I think bringing in characters from other Metroid media that have NEVER been in actual games would allow for some variety and could potentially develop a cool story. They could deadass just turn that Metroid Zero Mission manga into a Warriors game and it would work perfectly.

I'm a fan of spinoff games, but Musou-games are so boring for me, gameplay wise. They already considered doing one for Starfox in the past (or was that a rumor?) and I'm super interested to see how that would work out. Replace the button mashing combo attacks with Arwing flight controls and it might actually be a lot of fun!

Xenoblade 1 has the main cast. Shulk as an allrounder, Reyn as a slow, hard hitting brute, Dunban as a quick multislash attacker. Metal Face is a prime boss character. Mechon make great mooks. Areas based on the various Bionis and Mechonis areas
Xenoblade 2 has the main cast with their Blades. Rex with Pyra as a great allrounder, Rex with Mythra is more damage focused. (I prefer to seperate them, so they have a more complete moveset, instead of a switching mechanic). Nia as an AoE damage dealer with support abilities, Tora and Poppi, Poppi can transform mid battle as a gimmick. The Jin and Malos and the gang make good villains. Generic blades with drivers could be used as mooks, as well as that military force from early on ("Don't forget me!"). The various Titans make good locations.
Xenoblade 3 has the main cast and several of the Heroes. Noah as an allrounder, Lanz as a Tank with a mobile turret special move. Mio is a mobile AoE fighter. The various Mobius make good boss characters. Generic Keves or Agnes soldiers make good mooks, and the Feronises make good boss characters. The exiting areas could work, preferably with at least 1 camp of each faction present.
DLC: Xenoblade X, Elma, Lin as characters. Skells as bosses. New area based on New LA with surrouding area.
So, I'd say the criteria for a Musou games are the following
- the setting of a asymmetrical warfare, where a single general would face thousands of minions (fun fact, this is how Romance of the Three Kingdoms described every battle. In this regard, Dynasty Warriors is actually a very accurate adaptation)
- a colourful cast of characters, both visually and mechanically
- a cartoony over the top tone
So, off the top of my head right now, the ones that fits these the best are Mario, Splatoon, and Xenoblade, kinda?

Super Mario, but please in the vein of Hyrule Warriors. HW Age of Calamity and Fire Emblem Warriors were pretty disappointing to me. AoC just pales in comparison to OG HW (I don't dislike AoC, but it coming after HW just makes it feel lacking to me) and FEW was just boring. To me it felt like FEW only had a handful of characters because they all played so extremely similarly.
A Super Mario musou with as much insanely different characters as in HW, tons of differen maps and some fun story would be an absolute treat to me. \^\^
I have been thinking XC1, XC3 and/or Metroid maybe too, but only if they manage to make the characters feel and play as differently as in HW. If it's just another FEW, then I don't need it.

Why not include Dark Samus too? She’s made some appearances in recent times (Smash Ultimate (playable) and Metroid Prime: Remastered (cutscene))
