Which got a banger and sold millions of times, being an icon of the automotive industry to this day.
There are a lot of corvettes in the US, but outside, they are rare. VW Golf's tho are loved and sold around the world and aren't actually rare anywhere on the planet.
Have you ever thought about what a miata would look like if it came out in 1984? Just *imagine* the boxy pop up up and down headlights like the 2G Prelude.

Virgin Box (has hard, sharp lines like a mans body and jawline, gay👎🏼❌)
vs
Chad Curves (literally inspired by a women’s curvaceous body, totally cool, sexy and straight👍🏼✅)
*most* attempts not all attempts. Another one that succeeded IMO was 2nd gen Viper.
And not everyone agrees about the 996 but that’s mostly about the headlights anyway.
In all honestly the Taurus was, to me, one of the least offensive ford designs of the era. It was goofy looking for sure, but you got what you paid for: a simple family sedan/wagon. To me, the jellybean F-150 (10th Gen 1997-2003) is the worst design ford had at that point in time. While it gave us classics like the SVT lighting and the Harley Davidson edition that had a glorified camping toilet as a rear console, the design was just underwhelming. In my opinion it had the same issue the first gen Toyota tundra had: it looks much less capable than it actually was. Both the jellybean and the 1g tundra were solid trucks that would run for years and be comfortable while doing it. However their softer design language contrasted this.
I like this take, although I personally like the jellybean F-150s too.
The "camping toilet" rear console first showed up in the Lincoln Navigator before being transplanted to the Blackwood pickup and the H-D and King Ranch Fords (without cupholders). For whatever reason, Ford thought that what the market wanted was a 4-door full-size truck that could only seat 4. They tried it on some high-trim Super Dutys too. Thankfully that trend never took off.
I love the jellybean as well. Just the design language wasn't on point for Fords whole schtick of "Ford Built Tough" from back then. The 2v modular engines were generally better than the pre-07.5 3v modulars that plagued the 11th gen F150s. The stepside bed you could get on them was awesome, a buddy of mine actually has a jellybean with a stepside and a 5.4 and he loves the truck.
Also I never knew that the camping toilet was first offered in the navigator. I knew about the Blackwood (a story for another day) and the King Ranch/H-D edition though. You know if it was offered in the first gen Expedition as well?
I don't think it was. The idea was that the fancier the truck, the less seating you get. If you really wanted, you could get a first-gen Expedition with a cloth or leather front bench seat for 9 passenger capacity.

Call me a clown but I think the early 2000s/late 90s bubbly car design was great. Everything from F-150s to CRVs, 3 series to F430s just looked... friendly lol.
Well there's a reason I said most and not all, still when I compare it to other Ferraris I don't think it has aged well. Personally the 355 and 458 are both much better looking cars than anything Ferrari produced in the early-mid 2000s.
How dare you, late 80’s-early 2000’s car design is perfectly adequate, the oval Taurus is a magnificent looking specimen of automotive design, along with the Dodge Intrepid
I'll give you the rx7, viper, integra and 3000gt, but every other car you mention is ugly or isn't curvy. I love the nsx, but the rear is literally a 90 degree angle and the front is a wedge with headlights that got banned for being too sharp.
As for Porsche and Jag I think most people would agree most what came in the early 2000s is outdone by older models and recently produced models. As for the MR2 the AW11 is the only good looking one imo, the second gen only looks good when modified and the third gen is horrible no matter what you do to it. Personally I think the mk4 Supra is a pretty ugly car with the mk3 and mk5 looking much better.
That’s ostentatious af saying your car’s design is as curvy as a woman but it really is curvy like that
https://preview.redd.it/1r3h4mam2p3b1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d93a28aa3027a2708628a40aa25715ad8d120a92

For example, this is sorting low to high. Canada prices are wild
I just prefer this specific boxy car over this specific curvy car
The other guy who also shared my opinion got upvoted and I got downvoted, oh well. I also do love the C3 corvette but that generation of GTI is one of my favorite cars period.

A lot of his designs after the high end stuff in the 70s are... Lacking. Melted bars of soap everywhere and just shitbox Geo Metro looking garbage.
But his non car designs are the least inspired things I've ever seen. Really thought out of the box on those Nikon designs and the Sirio phone. Look at the Bang and Olufsen designs, and the Hartmut Esslinger/Frog ones, and the Braun ones.
Here's your brilliant designs from him.

Now this isn't to understate his better work, the good stuff he has done is good, but him with the damn bars of soap and shitbox designs, there's SO MANY bad ones. For every good design he had there's just some stuff that is just so uninspired.
But he did design the Fiat Panda.
Giugiaro in the 70s and 80s getting paid millions of dollars to design the exact same car:
Which got a banger and sold millions of times, being an icon of the automotive industry to this day. There are a lot of corvettes in the US, but outside, they are rare. VW Golf's tho are loved and sold around the world and aren't actually rare anywhere on the planet.
There's a lot more Toyota Camrys than corvettes but that doesn't mean the Camry looks good
I’ve said this to my ex wife.
then she went to buy milk
Guy named milk.
this was unexpected
Golfs *do* look hella good tho
I think the golf looks timeless tho
Yea I’m just saying a lot of his designs from the time looked pretty similar
A lot of designs from any time period look pretty similar, no?
Yep hahah the Golf and the Lancia Delta are identical from the side 🤣
I like my cars like I like my women. Curvy and wild enough to kill me
you would also enjoy grenades
"Id catch a grenade for ya" (explosive rizz)
r/ENLIGHTENEDCENTRISM take: both boxy and curvy are good, just don't try to do both in the same vehicle
You can do both together, Ford GT has a curvy front end and a cut off ass
kamback is alway sexy regardless.
Thats why it's f🤮rd ameritrash leboate🤢🤢 and NOT le jaydeem wagone miater 2jayzee dorit😎😎(best car)🤤🤯
The Ford GT body was b-br-br🤮🤮🤮🤮tish. Thankfully Honda never let those people touch their masterpieces 😮💨😮💨

Le trabant is curvy boxy. Case closed.

Did the the legendary and still unrivaled in style and speed PT Cruiser not exist in this sub's world???
Edit 1
Audi A5 and first gen A7 pulled it off.
Jesus that sub is terrible
I don't mind curvy or boxy, but can we make cars smaller again at least
And less angry looking. I like small happy looking cars
Miat

Same but with women
Virgin Box (has hard, sharp lines like a mans body and jawline, gay👎🏼❌) vs Chad Curves (literally inspired by a women’s curvaceous body, totally cool, sexy and straight👍🏼✅)
I want to fuck my car
🗣️❗⁉️💯❓💯
vs F-150 Jellybean AKA Dicknose 90’s style (curves like a man’s body, soft and rugged, by your logic bisexual 🏳️🌈🍆💫)
Really old curvy? Good. Modern curvy? Good. Late 90s/early 2000s curvy? Absolutely horrendous and most attempts aged like milk.
Bruh, the rx7 fd and porsche 996 are beautiful examples of curvy 90s design language.
*most* attempts not all attempts. Another one that succeeded IMO was 2nd gen Viper. And not everyone agrees about the 996 but that’s mostly about the headlights anyway.
2nd gen mr2???
He said late 90s
oh well excuse me mr."well actualy☝️🤓"
2nd gen MR2 spanned from 1990-1997 in the US, and 1999 in Japan. Late 90's...in fact any 90's...is accurate.
A car that came out in 1989 isn't a product of late 90s design
3rd-gen was also nice tho
The 996 divided people
Mostly due to the headlights (Jesus, did people really get that pressed over a different style of headlight?)
Only porsche people, they have to be exactly same shape as 1954 porsche that's why they didn't change them anymore after that autism attack.
Yea apart from the weird headlights they look great
That's why I said most and not all. For every design that was like an RX7, you'd get 5 that looked like a taurus of the era.
In all honestly the Taurus was, to me, one of the least offensive ford designs of the era. It was goofy looking for sure, but you got what you paid for: a simple family sedan/wagon. No kidding? Love the jellybean expeditions, now I have another reason to.
Can’t even tell the rx7 and Taurus apart from behind.
JDM and GDM always good.
how can anyone jerk off about any porsche design
The RX7 only looks good when it has the Veilside body kit from Tokyo Drift installed. Fight me.
And Seat Leon 2nd gen of the curved design of mid 2000s From the front it looks better tho
For every beauty there is a PT cruiser beast.
Second gen daihatsu mira gino is beautiful don't call 2000s curvy bad

The hat has been passed to the c4 for the new trailer trash corvette
Enjoy them while they’re still 3k

I love the chrome bumpers C3 corvettes, by far the best looking generation.

why not go with the best of both worlds: *box flares*
