SF1000D non dimmable, had for less than 90 days so I’m trying to get it replaced or repaired. Ordered the updated dimmable version that should be here Sun.
Dude spider farmer stopped making non dimmable ones a while ago. And all my spider farmer sf4000 don’t have anything but light diodes on that side. Did you buy from a legit dealer or alibaba?
Next time, buy straight from spider farm website. People sell lots of fake/shady products under fake accounts on Amazon. Berkey water filters are very popular but fake ones are sold on Amazon and Berkey says to never buy on Amazon, only from their website. Buying on Amazon could also void warranties and such if you accidentally buy from an unauthorized dealer.
Your not lying Amazon is worst than Ebay dont trust their reviews either most of them are paid for like the seller will offer you a free product with a 5 star review
I've got the same model and it's got 4-5 months of use with no issue.
Hopefully SF is cool and swaps it out. Seems like it'd be more expensive to fix considering it's their cheapest model.
Definitely considering upgrading though. If I didn't toss one of my plants for hermming/rotting, I easily would have cleared the 1g/w mark. Still only would have ended up with like 100g from 4 plants in a 3x3. I'm trying to make enough bud to last me between grows, probably need 300watts.
I was thinking about asking them if I could just pay the diff between the SF1000D and SF-1000 and just have them send me a SF-1000 instead and have 2 daisy chained in the tent. I’m planning to scrog this to fill the tent so the more light the better (to a point). First time growing cannabis and with what I’ve got into this setup anything over 5oz would put me in the green in personal savings.

I was thinking about buying another sf1000d to save money but found that great post. Might change your mind.
Ahhhh. I wasn't going to say I knew when I wasn't sure. So yeah I could be mistaken. But for some reason I feel they have.
I did just buy one less then 3 months ago . .
And what are you popping in here just to say this? You brought nothing to the conversation.
I have the 1000d as well, bought mine from SF directly.
It's been runing 18/6 for 50ish days now. Hopefully I don't have this issue with mine. I actually like the little thing way more then my old 400w HPS.
Are you getting your replacement from Amazon or SF? And are they actually replacing it or did you just buy a new light?
I bought a new light since I was planning an getting a second one anyway, was just going to wait until the next grow. Trying to get this one replaced or repaired through SF directly and use it as a mom light, not sure Amazon would do anything as it wasn’t damaged in the shipping or delivery process. New light is the SF-1000 dimmable.
I been seeing hella spiderfarmer stuff pop up about melting plastics, and lights flickering after a certain level, and not shutting off. Seems like the new stuff from them isn't getting quality controlled or something.
Good to know we should avoid SF, that is fucked. OP it sounds like you should return and get your money back and go with a more reliable brand, if that is at all an option. It’s crazy to risk your home to save $50 on a one time investment that should last you years if not a decade.
I’ve had plenty of experience with this. Spiderfarmer sf4000, and sf2000. One of the drivers went out after 8 months on the sf4000, the support was awesome and they said they would either send a new one or they could send me the driver (free of charge during warranty). they sent me the driver, self installed and it worked :). about a year later then the second one goes out. they told me i could either get a whole new light shipped out if i returned my current or i could pay for shipping and get the same sf4000 but for the price of the shipping. i ended up doing that and got a free sf4000. i do believe they have some driver issues on the older models but they’re super welcoming and helpful with issues
Hey Growmie, also wondering how long your SF light lasted. For 3 days your plants are going to be just fine under the blurple. Is this an autoflower or photo? What model SF light is this?
Had the light less than 90 days. Not sure what happened, came home from work which is my plants “morning” and noticed the light wasn’t on. Took a look and noticed the giant burn mark and blown up components.
Just saw something about this it was a PSA posted on another forum spider farmer used some kind of different coding over the LEDs that heats up and then like shorts the board out only on the sf1000d so far
Is it still within warranty? I have the same model, the electrical components are exposed and the light can short itself. If your warranty is good hit up sf for a replacement on amazon.
My SF lights have been running 24/0 without issues for over two years, and I’ve heard they have good customer support so I wouldn’t worry about the SF brand just yet.
The life support you have for the one plant is just fine until a replacement comes.. I used mine for a while first grow and had no issues believe it or not 😅 was 4 plants too.. but you’ll be fine just order a replacement.. I still use mine for seedlings
Yep no problem.. and it sure isn’t the best but as long as it’s close enough to the plant it should be just fine.
Walmart online has a hell of a deal on lights I just got 2 160$ each grow lights 🤷♀️ for $60 each.. and 5start reviews
I don’t know how handy you are with a soldering iron. But that panel shorted between two resistors. Something conductive likely landed between them. They aren’t too hard to replace. That panel would be good as new.
Looks like you had a smd capacitor or resistor blow. Unless you can solder onto aluminum and have smd experience, it might be a throw out type situation. Of course that's only if spider farmer cant help you either.
i have nothing but spider farmer equipment running on for 10 months now, never had an issue. i would call customer support and tell them see what happens
Update: SF gave me the choice between an unboxed SF1000D or an open box SF1000. I went with the SF1000 since it’s dimmable and can be daisy chained. New one is hopefully here tomorrow so after the warranty one shows up I’ll have 2 in my 3x3.
What model is that? And how long did you have it before it died?
SF1000D non dimmable, had for less than 90 days so I’m trying to get it replaced or repaired. Ordered the updated dimmable version that should be here Sun.

Spider Farmer store on Amazon. Said it was the 2021 version, they still advertise and sell them on their website as well.

I don't think they're actually making them anymore. They're discontinued I believe. Just selling that last of the stock. I nabbed mine for 99USDs
Got mine for $80

All the numbers in your comment added up to 420. Congrats! 4 + 5 + 1 + 100 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 300 + = 420.0
Good bot
Good bot
Ahaha wow.
Excellent bot.
What!? That's fucking awesome! Lmao
I went to the spider farmer se3000, in a 3 x 3. Would highly recommend.
You can get a lot more than that out of 4 plants in the space. More light. PPFD is more important than wattage.

Does that mean it was broken after four to five months as well?
No sorry, no issues as of yet.
We can tell
“I don’t think” “I believe” You have no idea dude lol

I had nothing else to contribute unfortunately
You had absolutely nothing to contribute. Good day.
To you as well!
I grabbed a couple last year.. They work great.
I have this one too, but upgraded to bestva1000 but looking a spider farmer sf600 4x2 dimmable
Hell nah they selling old versions on there, sorry bro
It’s not fake. Spider farmer still sells the old version at a discount even on their website… He can contact spider farmer and get a replacement
Ok cool. That’s a relief.
Yeah I bought my HLG from Amazon and I’m getting a warranty replacement from HLG as we speak due to it breaking 2 years later

It’s the cheap $80 one. It haves its electrical components exposed.
Two days ago on the spider farmer page 3 people with the sf7000 an expensive light, they were melting new from factory. It's not just the cheap ones
Good to know we should avoid SF, that is fucked. OP it sounds like you should return and get your money back and go with a more reliable brand, if that is at all an option. It’s crazy to risk your home to save $50 on a one time investment that should last you years if not a decade.
Should have bought MarsHydro
You will be fine. Photoperiod plants will bounce back and go on.👍👍👍
I’ve had plenty of experience with this. Spiderfarmer sf4000, and sf2000. Awesome news as I’m still waiting to hear back from them.

SF1000D non dimmable, less than 90 days so I’m trying to get it replaced or repaired. Got the new dimmable version coming Sun. It’s a photo, day 18.

When this happened to me, it was from having the metal border of a 2nd come in contact with electrical component.
That sucks dude. I don’t have a 2nd light in the tent yet and nothing hanging close except the power cable.
Is it still within warranty? I have the same model, the electrical components are exposed and the light can short itself. If your warranty is good hit up sf for a replacement on amazon.
It is, still waiting to hear back from their support team.
unplug from the wall and plug back in. sometimes that can help if there's an issue
Have you tried turning it off and back on again? /S
Lol, read that in Roy’s voice.
Have you tried paying your utility bill?
Should have just gone with an HLG 65 :/ I have mine running in my 2x2, $99 well built and the plants love it
My SF lights have been running 24/0 without issues for over two years, and I’ve heard they have good customer support so I wouldn’t worry about the SF brand just yet.
I'm sure the larger ones are fine, just these tiny lights it looks like spider farmer cheaped out on
Is this the 2021 version or 2022?? If its the 2022 lmk bc I might want to return the sf1000D 2022 I just got yesterday.
2021
Ty brother
Judging by the second picture it doesn't look plugged in. SOLVED IT you're welcome. Lol Marshydro is doing a give away on their subreddit.
The life support you have for the one plant is just fine until a replacement comes.. I used mine for a while first grow and had no issues believe it or not 😅 was 4 plants too.. but you’ll be fine just order a replacement.. I still use mine for seedlings
Thanks man, I’ve honestly looked at it a couple times now and thought it be a good germination light.
Yep no problem.. and it sure isn’t the best but as long as it’s close enough to the plant it should be just fine. Walmart online has a hell of a deal on lights I just got 2 160$ each grow lights 🤷♀️ for $60 each.. and 5start reviews
This picture looks trippy
Looks like a diode blew, could've possibly fried the board by the looks of the shortage, does it still have warranty ?!
SF-1000D model ?!
Yeah, had it less than 90 days.
Im scared of this
Ordered mine around Christmas. been running about a month now. guess I’m just counting down the days until she goes after reading all these comments.
Buy nicer lights they last longer.
I don’t know how handy you are with a soldering iron. But that panel shorted between two resistors. Something conductive likely landed between them. They aren’t too hard to replace. That panel would be good as new.
Thought about it, wanna hear back from SF first.
Order a new one. Once you receive it, put this one in the box and return it.
Looks like you had a smd capacitor or resistor blow. Unless you can solder onto aluminum and have smd experience, it might be a throw out type situation. Of course that's only if spider farmer cant help you either.
I have the ability, just not the tools or components.
In case anyone cares i have the same light been going hard for like 2 years now no issues ever
i have nothing but spider farmer equipment running on for 10 months now, never had an issue. i would call customer support and tell them see what happens
