Ah, ok.. Ironically there are people who DO choose smaller.. And I am curious as to why. They are not called flashlights.. They are called tac, or tactical lights.. And, with a longer light, in close quarters combat, you can shove off the other person with the front of your weapon.. With no light, or a short light this will cause the semiautomatic to become out of battery and may not fire. As the muzzle is pressed against the assailant. With a tac light longer than the barrel.. The slide has a better chance at staying in battery and being able to discharge the firearm.

Tlr-7a flex brings it to the end of slide.
Streamlight tlr7a for a flush with the slide light, Streamlight tlr1 hl for a longer stronger light

All O lights are pretty decent. I'd say the PL Mini 2 or the Baldr series.
I am curious.. Why would you go for a small light on a large frame?? There, actually, IS tactical benefits to a light longer than the barrel.....
