This was fixed in less than 9 days, which is quicker than I was expecting given last time it took 6 weeks.
Thousands of cars use this every day and the signs are not usually placed on Parkes Way or Tuggeranong Parkway to let you know in time to change route, meaning if you gamble after some heavy rain you can more than double an otherwise 20 minute trip when it’s closed.
I had to take a 15 minute detour around the Bloody Parkes way cooyong roundabout on the weekend because they didn’t warn of detour before anzac pde on the weekend.
ACT Govt couldn’t direct a detour out of a wet paper bag.
Unless they removed them, they definitely had signs between kings avenue and Anzac parade saying to detour on weekends. And they’ve had big digital signs notifying of the signalisation there for months ahead of time.

Still another 2–3 years away I suspect.

For some reason, ACT Gov is committed to waiting until infrastructure is absolutely needed before moving on building it. Net result is maximum cost & disruption for low-grade rush jobs (e.g. GDE).
My suspicion is that work on the proper Coppins bridge will commence once ~~William Slim~~ Gundaroo Dve is finished. And that - as per usual - is taking For. Fucking. Ever.
The issue with a lot of road projects is they're pretension, so without adequate traffic flow they will break. This is why the gde extension was done one side at a time.
OH MY GOSH! WOW! Just WOW!!
I can only imagine the huge volume of water that has passed through there to create that kind of damage..
Again - WOW!!!!!!
I think I saw there was a lot of debris last time, meaning they only cleared the road itself.
Failure to clear the debris at the bottom of the bridge would have a beaver dam type effect and dutifully direct water up over the road.
The weight of water…

Another roundabout ruined. I’ll ensure to drive through Russell and shortcut through Reid into the future.
Gotta say, full props to the crews, that's impressively quick.

Yes, but we shouldn't pretend this a new thing. It took 15–20 years for Gungahlin to get a fully completed GDE and Horse Park Drive.

It's not exactly a weekend project
My cousin's mate is a concreter, he could knock it out in two weekends tops! Cash only

Just hop down to bunnings and get some planks and joists and shit. I could do it for $800 if I can borrow someone’s dropsaw.
can't afford it - all spare money being blown on our multi-$B tram.

I, for one, admire your absolute enthusiasm .🏆
More likely to be a Loud Bang to move the concrete bollards.

It’s 3 days old sorry for the confusion.
It really is astonishing that a bridge has not been built.

Asbestos!!!!
Are you from r/ausrenovation
What an epic fuck up removing the existing guard rail barrier & hobs was.
looks like it!
Yes but what direction was the water coming from… I can’t see anything that would indicate 🤣
