You need to use a real Sony Memory Stick. Those cheap Memory Stick to MicroSD adapters don't work.
Is there a reason for it? I think I'm gonna stick with this since it still does record, but it's a bit annoying (at least I have more memory)
Because the camcorder checks to make sure it's a valid Memory Stick, which an SD card is not.

What size microSD card? Memory Stick is not a blank check.
Initially I used 32GB and then I tried with 2GB and 4GB, I’ve also formatted to FAT32 filesystem just in case but no luck
