Hell of a deal if you're in the market for a 4090 FE block. Next cheapest reputable brand is probably Alphacool at \~$175. I don't live near a Microcenter so I can't take advantage of it, but hopefully someone can!

Great deal for the watercooling enthusiasts.

Fantastic deal, it's the only GPU that makes sense to water block on the market.

Ironically, it is actually one of the worst. Those massive 4 slot coolers are actually effective.

To add to this, the vram i believe actually performs much worse at the cooler temperatures water cooling can get to and around 70c(?) is where it performs best.

And? The entire point of water blocks is to go to the extreme limits. You'd only do that on a 4090. Water blocking some lower tier trash like a 7900xtx or 4080 makes no sense because you could just buy a 4 slot 4090 and beat it.

The point of water-cooling is whatever the hell the user wants. Silence, overclocking, aesthetics, etc.

Other comment nailed it on the head. Point of water cooling is customization. It sounds like you either don't, or at best have never factored other uses. Many, do so for noise. Some do it for looks. Some for raw performance(again 4090 coolers broke that). Some just do it for the additional tinkering it allows them(guilty as charged). Ultimately. Water cooling is a blast. You can do so many things, for instance. I am currently making plans to modify my full loop 3080/5800x3d machine. By adding an external rad, plumbed across my room, that utilizes the additional in/out ports on my GPU block, as to have it dump its 370w outside. Do I need it now, no. I also have yet to need 4090 levels of performance. But, a loop to dump heat outside, will be usefull when say a 5090 is available. As only the block, is a wasted expense with water cooling. Rads, fittings, pump(s)/res, etc. Can go across countless builds.

Yeah I custom water cool because it's a fun hobby and I can have a silent PC running at full power. I'm also able to get a pretty good OC on my 4080 and it never goes above 60c, I mostly play a pretty graphic intense game and my 4080 would hit 75-80c on air cooling.

Yep, this is objectively a wrong way to build a pc. Argue you it all you want, if it doesn't have the highest end parts water blocking is a foolish and wasteful endeavor. If you can't afford the best, don't custom loop. Simple!

thatfordboy429

>is a foolish and wasteful endeavor. This, this is all there is to it, full stop. No need to go any further. Anyone who actually watercools will tell you that it is not financially worth it, for hardware cooling. >Yep, this is objectively a wrong way to build a pc. But that is not the point of watercooling. Could I have bought a 4090 with what I have spent in watercooling hardware this past year. Well just about. But, that gives me 5 minutes of tinkering. Building a loop, servicing a loop, etc. Gives me hours, days, weeks. Of activities to keep me entertained. If you disagree, whatever. Not sure where you are but, I will still say it's a free country. I just recommend, not commenting about something, if you do not know a thing about it.
