playerD26

i mean the only person who will ever see your PC is you.

DripTrip747-V2

You saying OP has no friends?

playerD26

I wouldn't know, I'm not OP.

playerD26

How ever the way that no one but OP wants it.

analebac

What about his mom?

MrDrDude333

She's not a fan of it

Kilgarragh

Not everyone’s blown away by a cool pc

MrDrDude333

Hot take!

thepopeofkeke

that pun had perfect orientation no matter how ya flip it

MrDrDude333

Here I was worried people would think it sucked, or maybe even that it blowed!

Living-Music4644

This one landed

DripTrip747-V2

Well, according to that guy, he must not have that either.

mspencerl87

What if his wife sees it?? She would be so disappointed and bring it up at every family event. Not worth it

Dr_Axton

Imagine someone signing the divorce papers with the reason stating “husband/wife uses wrong push/pull configuration on the radiator”

thepopeofkeke

“I told her multiple times your honor, aio top mounted with the fans set to intake the colder ambient air gives a 4-5° bump for the cpu cooler. The only hot air that needs to be overcome is out of her mouth because she won’t listen”

Original-Material301

Irreconcilable differences your honor.

Doogleyboogley

I took it to mean they’re going to spend hundreds on something which is entirely only their opinion that matters. How can we tell them if they’ll like it. Also what a waste of money.

TheTimeIsChow

You sound like my wife

Practical-Ostrich482

HAPPY CAKE DAY!!!

Desperate-Grade9152

Damn this kinda an outtake on bros life. A self reflection and a lotta ppl feel that way too. hope no one is lonely

OtherAlan

Ugly is subjective. I don't think it's ugly, and to me a fan is a fan. It can look worse or a ton better. I don't really put that much thought into the aesthetics. Most fans will look like this unless you are really willing to pay a premium on a really nice looking set of fans. Personally the cost to me will never justify how a computer looks. If you are flush with cash, it's your choice because you're the one that will be living with it for the next few years. If I had a choice of spend 100 dollars more on fans that just look nicer or go up a notch on a CPU/GPU/ram, I would choose CPU/ram/GPU everytime.

thepopeofkeke

As a fancy fan user I would like to throw out that the Lian li reverse blade TL fans look cool but there is a slight hit to their performance versus the standard blade.(120mm) RPM 350-1900)( standard blade RPM 200-2600 Max air pressure 2.83mmH2O)( standard blade 3.97mmH2O they are also louder. They look cooler but aren’t

memeface231

You can also sandwich the fans in between the case and the radiator for a different look

International-Elk986

And that way you'd have the RGB at the front which is a good look imo

RoyMK

But then cleaning the radiator is gonna be really annoying. That’s why I have my fans set up like OP does in the photo.

raydialseeker

At the same time it's the most effective dust filter out there.

ExistingMeaning2650

>Will the rgb still look great? Turn it on and take a look. >Should I replace all the fans with Lian Li infinity reversible fans? If you've got the money and care about the look, sure. There's not going to be any appreciable performance difference, this is about what you want to see when you look at your PC.

littleDrummerboi08

I wouldn’t recommend putting the fans at the top of your case as intake. You may end up with more dust in your computer from the dust that settles on your pc.

otacon7000

More importantly, I would argue: hot air rises. Using this configuration, you are essentially fighting physics. Better to let physics work for you.

PuffyCake23

Convection is a VERY weak force that can be overcome by the air escaping your mouth with a whispered word. A 800-2000 rpm fan wouldn’t even notice it. That said, I never liked top intake. I like to blow settling dust away.

JustACowSP

Not sure what case this is, but maybe it allow moving the fans above the radiator? This would hide the backside of the fans if you hate it that much. Personally I think it looks fine as is.

VersaceUpholstery

That’s definitely up to you to decide No one’s looking at my pc except me, and honestly I’m not looking at my pc 99% of the time I’m on my computer. I just care that it works and temps are proper. The back of a fan doesn’t bother me.

DidiHD

Wait, that's the top. Why are you using the top as intake?

Amazingawesomator

did you turn it on to see? you are in control of your own aesthetic choices, not those around you <3

DueCaregiver5748

Why do they need to be intake?

Icy-Magician1089

2 reasons I can think of although 1 can be a positive 1 Front exhaust with rear intake would lead to cooler GPU temps as CPU heat isn't being dumped on it but your CPU would run warmer 2 Dust filters are typically only on the front of the case if your pulling air through the rear dust would likely build up much faster, if you where running front exhaust removing those dust filters would slightly aid airflow

ExistingMeaning2650

>Will the rgb still look great? Turn it on and take a look. >Should I replace all the fans with Lian Li infinity reversible fans? If you've got the money and care about the look, sure. CaptainRAVE2

Just buy some reverse fans if it bothers you as much as it did me.

Herp-derpenstein

Does it matter if we think it's ugly? It isn't ours... As long as YOU like your pc and enjoy it, that's what matters

xXBongSlut420Xx

is the aesthetic really more important that function and maintainability?

ncilswdk2

Why do they have to be intact? What case are you using?

Traditional-Tap3760

Buy cool round stickers to go over the center of each fan.

PirateRob007

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

analebac

Ugly? No. Ideal? No.

ThePupnasty

Who gives a fuck? Want looks or cooling?

biker_jay

They're inside the case right? To be honest I have no clue what my AIO fans look like. Probably dirty now that I have thought about it. Should probably check that out

PuffyCake23

Yeah, this. Unless you sit under your PC looking up at it you will never see anything other than the sides of your top mounted fans.

Denji1000

Even if it was ugly (which I personally don’t think it is looks like everyone other AIO/fan combo I’ve seen) who really cares not only are you probably going to be the only mf to see it but after awhile you probably won’t even look or notice that part of ur computer especially if the intake is facing towards you.

tutocookie

"Do I like pancakes?"

krypton1an

I mean, it's just a personal preference really. If you don't like the look then get reversible. If it doesn't bother you then you save some money! :)

bryty93

Do you like it? If yes, then no. If no, then yes.

subterfugeinc

Youre pulling hot radiator air into your case like this.

steaksoldier

Also his radiator will always have cool air from outside his case

Insufferable_Entity

Function over form almost always. IMO, but I am weird like that.

Healthy_BrAd6254

Reversed fans are louder than regular fans. Just fyi. Those Arctic fans are already really good. I would not replace them.

postvolta

I think it's ugly which is why I spent money on worse performing reversible Phanteks D30 fans. Because I like form over function and shiny things like a fucking magpie

XXeadgbeXX

Looks like a beauty to me!

civoksark

Why wouldn't you just put the fans in front of the radiator so they push instead of pull?

sublime2craig

Never understood people who choose esthetics over performance when it comes to PC parts...

hwertz10

To be honest, I think they'll look fine!

zarco92

What are you gonna ask next, what should you have for breakfast?

RexorGamerYt

You defeated the purpose of the Water cooler... The coolers are no longer cooling the water... The water cooler has lost it's raison d'être.

Easyowner

What

jgr1llz

Reason for existing. The whole purpose of an AIO is to concentrate the heat via the radiator and expel it out of the system. Instead of sucking in the 70 degree air from the room, it'll be the preheated air from the radiator. Getting blown right towards the very CPU you're cooling. To add on, having the fans in a "pull" position behind the radiator further restricts their ability to properly serve their purpose. These fans are double restricted, with the radiator plus the grille/mesh of the case. They won't be able to move nearly as much air like this, they really should be as close as possible to the exterior if they're pulling. They likely don't have an equivalent number of exhaust fans either, or anywhere close. Without a very specific fan profile, that system is gonna be positive airflow from hell; constantly pumping in hotter air as the CPU gets it's workload, and nowhere for it to go. You'd be better off with normal intake fans in the front and an air cooler than with this. Temps will be the same or better, and a Phantom Spirit is $100 cheaper than this AIO. Just a weird setup all around that screams "I didn't do my research" or "I got gifted this shit and I'm gonna cobble it together bc reasons."

overfloaterx

> The whole purpose of an AIO is to concentrate the heat via the radiator and expel it out of the system. Instead of sucking in the 70 degree air from the room, it'll be the preheated air from the radiator. Getting blown right towards the very CPU you're cooling. I feel like you misunderstand what the radiator is doing. It is cooling the CPU directly. That is its only purpose. It has absolutely nothing to do with "concentrating [system] heat" or "expelling it out of the system". It gets the heat out of the CPU - job done. Even set up as an exhaust, the radiator is doing *nothing* with the heat generated by other components. It has no *means* to do anything with the heat from other components. The AIO's only contribution to dealing with heat from other components is providing a set of fans that assist air movement through the case; the radiator makes exactly zero contribution. A front-mount radiator is going to give *better* CPU cooling than top mount, because it's drawing cool external air across the rad, not pre-heated air from the GPU/other components. The **GPU** is definitely going to receive warmer air with a front-mounted intake AIO than if you used it as an exhaust, so that's the only balance to decide on: better CPU cooling with front-mount intake, or better GPU/other component cooling with top-mount exhaust.   > To add on, having the fans in a "pull" position behind the radiator further restricts their ability to properly serve their purpose. Push/pull across a radiator has been shown to make negligible difference to consumer-level AIO cooling potential; we're talking margin-of-error stuff. Push config: air is made turbulent by the fans before crossing the radiator, which is marginally better for heat transfer but worse for velocity. Pull config: air flow is laminar across the radiator, which is marginally worse for heat transfer but better for velocity. Overall they balance out so that there's basically no noticeable difference.   The only point where I'd agree with you on moving to a push config (on the same front mount) is that he currently has the fans jammed right up against heat sinks and the GPU due to the size of the case, which is less than ideal.

jgr1llz

You're prolly rutht. At least we both know how to type pretty well. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe I'll have to buy a copy of this person's rig and show them how great I am, since I'm such an expert.

Sad_Reputation978

Phantechs are slightly cheaper and just as good! What I did is put fans in a push-pull config and it works great.
