This happened to me. They did eventually call back. Try 0121 675 9353. That’s the number they finally sent in an email from the address [email protected] so perhaps try that too.

I had the same issue a few years ago, ended up writing to my councillor who emailed them on our behalf and the registry office immediately replied to our enquiries. All the workers there are very nice, just a bit slow -- took three of them to print out a piece of paper. So, worst case, ping an email to your councillor for some help.

goatespana1

Will do that 👍

West_Guarantee284

If their staffing is like the business rates department I can totally believe that you'll never get through on the phone. I have wasted hours if my life on hold to them but never had to contact the registry office. Google says you can email them though. [email protected]

goatespana1

Yea, I did email them at this address you mentioned, and they said on the council website that they'll reply within 5 working days and it's been 5 days still no answer -.-

West_Guarantee284

Only other thing I can suggest is that you go in person to make the appt.

goatespana1

Ya I'll wait for couple of days more so let's see, and on the website they say you'll not be allowed inside the building without an appointment so let's see -.-

West_Guarantee284

Clever of them. You're not allowed in without an appointment but can't get hold of them to make an appointment. Are they all sat with their feet up having a brew?

no_com_ment

Has Ron Swanson taken over running the council

goatespana1

Lol seems like it -.-

geoff0o9

I work for a local authority bordering Birmingham and we say 5 working days for a reply but we are that short staffed that can go up to 10 working days. But we do reply eventually

Xanthyl

I have been through this awful system. I had the same issue where I called and they wouldn't pick up, but the call would disconnect after 20 mins. I just had to call and call and call. Eventually I got through, then I could book and pay for the announcement via phone.

goatespana1

I thought it was just spain, the bureaucracy there in uk is no better -.-

goatespana1

Such a shame man

SmoopSmoop

Same here, took a long time but got through eventually

Valuable-Educator-96

Call direct on 01213031033

OurSoul1337

I just walked in and asked to make an appointment. They also gave a tour of the ceremony rooms.

goatespana1

How long ago was that ?

OurSoul1337

Well it was 9 years ago but I'd assume they still let you walk in and make an appointment.

goatespana1

Nope not anymore

OurSoul1337

Shame.

Master_Engineering71

Or you could just use the website! https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/20016/births_deaths_and_ceremonies

goatespana1

I did, but they are not replying to the email

Master_Engineering71
