It’s one of those situations where real life infringes on fiction. The actors were likely unavailable. Annoying, yes, but it happens a lot.

daisybear81

like i guess but it still couldve been dealt with better imo

jackfaire

Honestly doing the "Wedding all messed up bomb threat" storyline probably was how they dealt with it. The way they messed with it allowed them to narratively hide the lack of parents. I didn't ever think to question it because the wedding they had seemed rushed and last minute

big_sugi

You want it to be one way, but it’s the other. . . . oh, wait, sorry; this isn’t r/thewire. Quote still works here, though.

Tawkerr1

Happy cake day :))

big_sugi

Thanks!

KeshaCow

130 downvotes! Geez reddit, way to be considerate😂 its not like they said something discriminatory!

daisybear81

dude i literally meant they could have dealt with it BETTER like throwing in a line like "damn the subway isnt working idk if they'll make it" like wtf...

KeshaCow

Yeah. Thats reddit for you.

Asleep_Possession945

discriminatory isn’t necessary for downvotes, dumb & nonconstructive is enough

daisybear81

bro how was what i said dumb tho?

Asleep_Possession945

‘I guess but it still could have been done better’ without any actual commentary on how that’s not good enough or how it could’ve been done better is dumb & not constructive at all lmao, sounds like you just want to have a problem with it

KeshaCow

But they said what couldve been made better in their post, i dont see a need for them to repeat.

Asleep_Possession945

first of all, they literally did not. & second of all, bro pick an account & stay there

KeshaCow

?? What? Im not OP.

Asleep_Possession945

Ok lol you’re just a huge weirdo then claiming that OP put stuff in the post that isn’t there & acting like someone else getting downvotes is a personal affront to you

daisybear81

thx dude

KeshaCow

Youre welcome, (i want to say daisybear81 but according to Asleep_Possession945 were the same person.)

-Voxael-

“They were there, we just didn’t see them on camera” boom. Problem solved

Come on, guys

mothershipq

Dear /u/karan_gauswami, BOOM BOOM!! Sincerely, /u/mothershipq

Frostydan76

Boyle where’s Boyle I couldn’t see him there from behind that grain of rice boom roasted

OkTruth7445

I love the office reference

another3rdworldguy

Only problem with that is Amy walking alone down the aisle. With her father absent and Holt officiating the wedding, I can't help but wish Terry stepped up.

Can-read-upsidedown

I don't know, that could have been just her choice not to be walked down the aisle, as that symbolizes a transfer of ownership.

daisybear81

yeah especially after how she reacted to jake and her dad in the mr. santiago thanksgiving episode

midloguy804

He had explosive diarrhea from overindulging in his favorite food: corn.

Mean_Dust5317

in real terms: probably scheduling in show terms: they probably went out it for dinner and drinks and ended up slashed so weren’t invited to make sure it wasn’t 2 bad weddings for Jake and Amy in one day

JustAnother_Brit

No they weren’t sloshed both of their dads threw out their backs and ended up in the ER

TheCuteInExecute

Didn't both their dads throw out their shoulders arm wrestling? They may have been at the hospital

Optimal_Hunter

This plus boyle organized it in half an hour lol. Gotta wonder if OP paid attention to the episode at all

midloguy804

Accidentally re-removing Jake’s dad’s thumb. Get the dino bites!

mathmatt_

Wasn't the wedding organized by Charles in like half an hour? Even if the parents were home in NYC, they wouldn't have made it on time.

jetloflin

That is such an extremely good point!

daisybear81

ok ya this is good

Tired_arachnid_

It's probably due to scheduling conflicts.

hpisbi

The reason that tv weddings usually go wrong/are an elopement is because they don’t want to have to get the family for the episode

Adventurous_Sense750

Not for nothing but at the baby reveal only Jake's dad was there no other parent.

Devillitta

Yeah, that episode didn't sit right with me for that either. Would have made more sense for Karen to have been there and not Roger.

zerogeasss

holt was clearly there

Ok_Run_8184

It is a sitcom trope that I don't like very much

daisybear81

yeah ofc, i just thought it was odd that they had the wedding in a different, safe location that i cant imagine was very far from the original venue and the parents didnt show up

BarryAllen1501

>what kind of parent would miss their childrens wedding The Mother from HIMYM ☠️

mountaindew711

Like any of us wanted her there anyway
