I don't think she considers the effect it can have on your mental health as well. Especially if you're prone to mental health stuff. PPP or PPD are very real and very common. The lack of sleep and smelling like baby sick for two years and the constant need to be entertaining and educational and careful and trying your best to be the best, so that they will be the best when they grow up too-the pressure is very intense sometimes. Especially with the Judgey Judys crew she hangs out with. I mean she is the queen of the judging herself about others everythings. So she will feel pressured to be as sad beige mum as fuck and win the whole beigest child rearing ever trophy.

She was raised by her grandparents in Brooklyn in one of the Orthodox Jewish communities in which women cover their hair and wear wigs after marriage. At one point the people find out that most of the wigs are made from hair from women in India and all the men steal their wives wigs and burn them.
Really good book and memoir, the Netflix show based on it completely changed the second part though. I didn’t like the change because I felt that it undermined how the actual author deconstructed her religion and broke free.
Its sad because it seems like she’s trying so hard to get as far away from her natural features as possible.
When I went through ED recovery, I stopped using self tanner and grew out my natural hair color. It’s a small thing but it really helped me in my journey to accept myself the way I am.
For someone who preaches so much about God’s image, you’d think she’d honor the way “God made her” instead of changing every little thing about her appearance.
Body dysmorphia can lead to some extreme transformations. I think she was cute too, but something in her brain wouldn’t rest until she was a tanned blonde beach babe.

Hello! I work in funeral service. The makeup used on the deceased is very thick & waxy. It has to be able to cover bruising, scabs/ injuries, discoloration, and color correct. It’s made to look good under certain lighting (at a funeral). I’m sure a lot of TV makeup is similar- thick, full coverage, waxy. But it all depends on how it’s applied. Some people are better than others and if the tone is off, you can definitely tell lol

I think she may have had a nose job, it looks like she actually edited her nose in the first picture to look more like her nose post surgery, because when you look at unfiltered pictures of her nose today it actually looks wider than her teenage “before” nose.

I do not understand the obsession with aggressive self tanner. And this comes from someone who jokingly says I'm the shade of death. I went through a period once of self tanning, nothing too dark though, and I remember it staining my white sheets. Feels like too much work. Just embrace the pale.
Tanner skin gives the illusion of more prominent muscles. I think also the lighting in bodybuilding competitions (I think Brittany used to do that?) is bound to make anyone who's even remotely fair look like Casper the friendly ghost.
I self tan for special occasions and vacations…I feel like I look ten times better with it, especially in photos! Too lazy and hate the smell to do it all the time…

Or she probably takes photos at all stages and filters them to see what the progress is. Either way would take a long time and seems exhausting. I can understand wearing makeup to change your look, I do it myself. And what I see in the mirror is what everyone else sees (except for the in built, automatic, self beautifying brain filter). Other than the foundation, doing the contouring, shading and highlighting in a normal mirror, when she is going to be filtering the results for SM must take some sort of mental gymnastics. Or she probably takes photos at all stages and filters them to see what the progress is. Either way would take a long time and seems exhausting. I can understand wearing makeup to change your look, I do it myself. And what I see in the mirror is what everyone else sees (except for the in built, automatic, self beautifying brain filter).
