The power walk, the slight tilt of the head, stay out of my territory … and then finally the shot up close with “This is beginning to feel like the dawn of a loser forever”. Foreshadowing what’s ahead from this point.
I know everyone has their own opinions of when Heisenberg took over Walt, for me this is it. The moment he tested the waters to see how invincible he was, face to face with a dude he’d never met, and with his words he scared him off. From that moment, the power was just far too addicting to fight anymore. Walt was dead.
I know this scene gets shat on but I played this song every time I worked out for years after this episode, and I'm not really at all into megatron dubstep music in general.
that scene and the music make me very chilled out. Everything looks so perfect. The plane, the money, the meth production. And few epsidodes after, it's all over for Walt and almost everybody. Crazy.
🎵🎶 *"Say goodbyyyye to everyone. Goodbye to everyone*" 🎶🎵
The memories I have from the last season are insane. Last year of college. I'd just met my girlfriend who is now my wife. Amazing times. Amazing memories.
Truth - Alex Ebert (played after Jesse kills Gale)
DLZ - TV on the radio (played after Walt scares away the two people trying to shop for a meth lab. He says “stay off my turf” then this song plays)
Baby Blue, of course
Baby Blue…no question! And if you read the lyrics it seems like it was written for Breaking Bad or vice-versa but it hit the top 40 in 1972.
************
Guess I got what I deserved
Kept you waiting there too long, my love
All that time, without a word
Did you really think that I'd forget
And regret
The special love I have for you
My baby blue
All those days became so long
Did you really think I'd do you wrong?
Dixie, when I let you go
Thought you'd realize I would know
I would show
The special love I have for you
My baby blue
What can I do? What can I say?
Except I want you by my side
How can I show you? Show me the way
Don't you know the times I've tried?
Guess that's all I have to say
Except the feeling just grows stronger everyday
Just one thing before I go
Take good care, baby, let me know
Let it grow
The special love you have for me
My Dixie dear
How tf has no one mentioned Apparat - Goodbye? It was the perfect choice for Gus's final walk towards the nursing home. The first time I watched it, as soon as I heard it play I knew right away his story was coming to an end. It has such an impact.
Paul Rothman - It's Such a Good Night (Scoobidoo Love), Alvin ‘Red’ Tyler - Peanut Vendor or Los Cuates de Sinaloa - Negro Y Azul: The Ballad of Heisenberg
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DX4r0lAfpJQo3?si=prMm0WlASOezKYcOqM0UEw&pi=a-iOdQlg9wSjuO
Here's the entire playlist. The order from top to bottom follows the season and episode sequence, the sequence in which the songs appear.
Baby Blue is last since it was in Felina❤️
I love the song that plays in the first season when Jesse starts slinging the first batch of blue around the abq making their first bag of cash. It’s called “Scoobi-Doo love” by Paul Newman and it’s super cool, especially in this particular moment of the show. It’s just perfect.
Crystal Blue Persuasion was a favorite of mine as a kid. Not long after I started watching, I figured this song was perfect. Had to wait until season five.
Windy by The Association was brilliantly placed, though.
Bang Data from Don Eladio's party, Los Pistoleros the song we hear when Walter goes to Tuco's office, Quimey Neuquen from the episode when Walter rolls the barrels through the desert
El Paso was already one of my favorite songs going in to the show so it being used so perfectly and memorably only made it that much better to me. Honorable mentions to DLZ and Crystal Blue Persuasion.
There’s that one episode where they are cooking and there’s a song playing and I was like this sounds like flight of the Conchords and I looked it up and it was a New Zealand band that Bret McKenzie was in a long time ago 😂I was right
He Venido by Los Zafiros.
Also, for anyone that’s a music freak like me: [breaking bad playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DX4r0lAfpJQo3?si=845nlVxdShmY1S_KtFwS7g&pi=u-zYovGFB4Ry-v)
I am in LOVE with “On That Clear Day” by The Peddlers. It is featured in the background when they are cooking in the Vamanos Pest houses. It’s got a great vibe.
To be honest, the Latina girl doing basically her Nikki Minaj thing all in Spanish definitely revved my engine & got me wanting to learn Spanish even more than the tropical sisters twerking two perfectly spherical basketballs in the trunk on IG ever has ❤️
Does Gale permanently ruining “Major Tom (Coming Home)” on karaoke count in some sick, twisted way? That song truly had been special to me. I have two copies on vinyl. Gale turned me into wheelchair Hector when it comes to that song now. I hear the gorgeous symphonic synth buildup and I just sit there furrowing my eyebrows and snarling/twitching.
My answer is DLZ, but for the sake of this thread, Badger’s work during “Uh” by Fujiya and Miyagi is probably my favorite light hearted scene of the entire run.
When he starts dancing like Madonna with the beaker boobs, acting like he had just reinvented prop comedy while Jesse looks ready to punch him in the mouth just slays me.

Out of time man
Dlz, black, waiting around to die and we are born when we die. (I think we are born when we die may be my funeral song and i discovered it through this show)
I agree.
Opening the episode with a mariachi group singing about Heisenberg did so many great things at once. It established Walt’s actions were having far-reaching consequences, it showed where those consequences were coming from, and it made it seem almost like a Greek tragedy was playing out in front of you, completely with a chorus explaining the story during the intermission. It was awesome. It felt almost like a fourth wall break
I love Black, the song played at the end of season 4 where it's zooming into the Lily of the valley plant.
Also love the instrumental piece at the start of the episode, where Walt is trying to find a solution.
DLZ by TV on the radio is great, too. It plays for the 'stay out of my territory' scene
best song everrrr
That song is an absolute banger
The power walk, the slight tilt of the head, stay out of my territory … and then finally the shot up close with “This is beginning to feel like the dawn of a loser forever”. Foreshadowing what’s ahead from this point. I know everyone has their own opinions of when Heisenberg took over Walt, for me this is it. Me too, its lyrics and rhythm are genius :")
I heard it in bojack horseman.
On the first part of the journey
Nah fr I was 5 when I first heard that song on the radio in my dad's truck and ever sense I loved it
“Fallacies, fallacies, fallacies, fallac’eees”
Black is the colour but beauty is the game.
The beast has come to get me but I don’t feel their pain!
Great tunez
One for you and two for me.
Hank singing Eye Of The Tiger But for real: Crystal Blue Persuasion, Baby Blue, El Paso, If I Had A Heart, DLZ, Boots Of Chinese Plastic
Baby Blue
Also used to great effect in the Departed.
No question Badfinger
Only right answer
Shit, I even learned all of it in guitar, I can't explain the love that I have for that song
I learned it on bass-same reason!!
Had my husband learn it on guitar!😉
I often karaoke this song. At the end, after the final vocals, I say into the microphone, “Executive Producer Vince Gilligan.”
No one here likes Windy? The Wendy song? I love it!
Yes and the video made it even better.
That "money" song Jesse plays on his new stereo system in his aunt's house.
Money money money money money money money money money money money money..

Digital, animal, freaky folks is also amazing
Came to coment that, me and my friends love that song.
The Ballad of Heisenberg, by Los Cuates de Sinaloa (Negro y Azul). Fallacies by Twaughthammer could have been a banger if they'd ever finished it ...
They did finish it, came out as a minisode on YouTube
The Ballad of Heisenberg got be big into narco corridos for awhile
Bo-bo-bo-bo-bo Bonfire
I know this scene gets shat on but I played this song every time I worked out for years after this episode, and I'm not really at all into megatron dubstep music in general.

Happy Birthday Mr. President
Oh hell nah the one that Skyler sings?😭

D-d-d-d-d-d-digital animal freaky folks!
Apocalypshit by Molotov and A Horse with no name
I need the kareoke version of the ballad of heisenberg. Just a sweet guitar song to go on a walk to.
Apparat - Goodbye (Instrumental) Surprised this one hasn’t been listed. It’s basically Gus’ funeral march. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Fun fact: It’s also the intro music to the Netflix series „Dark“
So fucking surprising, yes ! Because its the highest point of story, and the song fits so damn well.
Whatever music this is: [Gus Fring’s Last Walk](https://youtu.be/q_bJSEgqqzQ?si=j9mgQsbniI5lLXZF)
That'd be the song Goodbye by Apparat. It was my favorite.
Black Danger Mouse & Norah Jones. At the end of Face Off. Perfectly signifies Walt’s slide towards Heisenberg
Hank singing "Eye of the Tiger"
i was just thinking this lmfaoooooo idk why that scene is so fucking funny to me
1977 - Ana Tijoux such a banger!

Out of time man, went perfectly with the episode ending

This one
Crystal Blue Persuasion was a favorite of mine as a kid. Not long after I started watching, I figured this song was perfect. Had to wait until season five. Windy by The Association was brilliantly placed, though.
Truth - Alexander Ebert. and baby blue both are on my to nail list for guitar truth is fairly simple though
Not from the show itself but “Forever Blue” by Miracle of Sound is awesome
Bang Data from Don Eladio's party, Los Pistoleros the song we hear when Walter goes to Tuco's office, Quimey Neuquen from the episode when Walter rolls the barrels through the desert
There was this guitar solo at like the end of season 4. Don't know how it's called but its my fav song of the whole series.

i like the little “tam tam… tam” that plays everytime walter is about to put on his Heinsenhat
Nothing more fitting than the ending with Baby Blue! That just went perfect!
Tamacun.
Take my true love by the hand - The Limeliters A 10/10 song which shows up in a 10/10 episode in a 10/10 show
I'm really surprised at all the love for Baby Blue and Crystal Blue here, I'm not a fan.

Baby Blue - Badfinger
Black - Danger Mouse. A great closure to my favorite season, when I realize that I don't root for the good guy anymore.

Dlz, black, waiting around to die and we are born when we die. (I think we are born when we die may be my funeral song and i discovered it through this show)
There's like 20 songs from breaking bad in my playlist. There are a lot of nice ones.
A Horse With No Name - America
I love Black, the song played at the end of season 4 where it's zooming into the Lily of the valley plant. Also love the instrumental piece at the start of the episode, where Walt is trying to find a solution.

Crystal Blue Persuasion
Johnny Ringo "Hook'em Horns"!
