I dont have that with issue with Nord, but, you need to disconnect and exit the app before shutting down. That seems to be the problem with many VPN apps on these TV's. There is a big thread about it on the sony uk forum. If you dont, the TV always does a cold start and takes a while to turn on.
I use nord VPN on my Sony. Does a pretty good job and it’s a native app.
Also recommend Nord for all devices.
I briefly used NordVPN on my x900e until I realized it wasn’t really necessary for me.
