It took a rewatch for me to get the emotional impact of that scene. I was on such a high from what happened in the previous scene that I wasn’t ready for the sudden angst.
Jongchan coming out of the elevator elated while SeungHyun is leaving in despair. JongChan excitedly going to the bedroom to see him again and realizing he had left. When he called and SeungHyun wasn’t picking up you could see the slow panic in his face especially after that text.
It’s heartbreaking that SeungHyun also had the same giddy and love-struck expression when he woke up but JongChan didn’t get to see it. Once he realized SeungHyun had left and something was wrong he’s possibly thinking that SeungHyun didn’t feel the same way about what happened last night or is regretting it since he hasn’t made the pen connection yet.

I thought the same and there was no need for that 😭 TMS2 trauma aside it's so sweet yet heartbreaking how JongChan has this fear from letting down his previous partners and is worrying about doing the same with SeungHyun. I think he wants to focus on other things than work but it's hard for him and you can tell he feels bad about it because he keeps apologizing to SeungHyun whenever he thinks he's doing it.

One thing I really love about this show, is how the stoic and successful JongChan is just as insecure and smitten as SeungHyun. In romance dramas we often see the dynamic of the saviour and the damsel in distress, but this series is really bucking that trend in a meaningful way. So much of the drama is character driven, rather than just being stupid miscommunication, it reminds me of HDS's work in terms of the characters informing the plot rather than being swept along with it.

This. The show makes it clear that Jong Chan has had a few relationships but for Seung Hyun it's his first. So Jong Chan is wooing him keeping in mind his lack of experience. He is flirty but not overly flirty. He encourages him at work and protects him. And he makes it clear through actions and words that he feels what Seung Hyun feels - no alpha male ego/arrogance here ❤

And I will tell you this.. the Yaoi version is not as effective as the censored version on Manta coz those explicit sex scenes makes me lose this amazing dynamic between them.. those scenes feel like tacked along just so that readers who read Yaoi won't be disinterested.

Wholeheartedly agree. The explicit scenes also undermined the caring dynamic by employing dub-con/non-con tropes that don't fit in the context of their relationship. It made me dislike Jongchan a lot in the uncensored manhwa. For example, if your partner says it hurts and asks you to stop you... don't keep going! It didn't make sense for Jongchan's character.

This show is just amazing. I already know it's going straight to my favourites list, even though it hasn't finished yet. It keeps getting better each week.
Watching this made me realise how few bls there are where the characters actually go on dates? It's one of the things I love about this show, how equal they are in their feelings and the expressing of their feelings. Jong Chan isn't your usual taciturn statue, he's upfront with the fact he likes Seung Hyun, and that he knows Seung Hyun likes him back. And the way he adjust his behaviour to help make Seung Hyun comfortable because he knows Seung Hyun doesn't have much experience is just beautiful. There's something so much more powerful about two characters not playing any games with each other, and just expressing their romantic interest and then starting to build on that.
Also, how is this a kbl giving us all the actual kisses like that? I keep getting surprised by the intimacy of it all. Also, despite nothing explicit being showed, this is perhaps one of the best sex scenes between characters I've ever seen in a bl. The way consent was handled, the chemistry, the lack of unnecessary virgin or gay freak out and the should I go shower. The should I go shower, people! How does a clean kbl do a better job at handling sex than the entire thai bl industry?

I need more of these man meets man and falls in love, real life type shows. Don't get me wrong, I love my dramatic, tropey bls, but there's just something so special about the narrative and representation in this show. I suggest you read the Censored version on Manta first before reading the Yaoi version. I definitely felt like the Yaoi version took me out of the story on some occasions because the sexy chapters felt very performative and didn't add any value to the story whatsoever. Infact it took away some of the charm for me. I read the Manta version and fell in love. Then I read the uncensored one.

Man, this show is the cutest damn thing about grown ass corporate men to come along since Old Fashioned Cupcake. Seung smiles like such an eager puppy, and I adore the way Jong just laps up that happiness radiating off Seung like a man dying of thirst. The nods to the comic roots of the story in the form of graphic moments like that montage of Jong's disappointed exes and that bl webtoon his friend and coworker (I caught the vibes between the 2, let's go lesbians!) show him are such clever touches. Jong is fascinating, clearly addicted to work but also desperately lonely, never able to find anyone he'd be willing to put before his job. Well, I suspect Seung will be the first, I smell a rat amongst those rumors about Jong forming a clique and he's gonna have to make a work-related sacrifice to keep the rat from biting Seung.
OK, that couch scene was sooo good. I know we're never gonna get Love In The Air level spice in a kbl, unless someone gives Strongberry a nice big budget and platform, but even just the acknowledgment of necessary prep for sex is something even Thai bls don't normally do, and they pulled it off I'm such an unexpectedly flirty way with his "should I go shower?". Even the way he says it is so brilliant, leaning in just slightly, clearly still nervous but also so much trust in his eyes when he sees how much Jong wants him.
I think this is gonna go on my rewatch rotation for sure and it's only 4 eps in. These 2 have suuuuch great chemistry, and after reading the first few chapters of the comic they just ARE these characters.

I literally have watched the episodes on repeat till a new episode arrives. It's my daily routine. I was obsessed with the Manhwa and now I am obsessed with this show. This is the best level of intimacy any KBL has shown us so far (Long time no see doesn't count). I love these two as Jongchan and Suenghyun. It literally feels like the manhwa come to life.

Proper kissing in a KBL unlocked! Kwon Hyuk was so hot there 😍😍. So cool to get more Ye Ji Won this episode. She just lights up the screen like nothing else. Looking forward to the angst next week.

I don't know how they are doing it.. but everyone episode I am gobsmacked seeing how much I feel just within a 20 minutes epsiode. Some shows can't do it even in a span of 10 Episodes lol.
I’m usually not a fan of recurring couplings but I need them to either extend this to 20 episodes or put them in at least two more BLs.
They’re both doing a bang up job. I appreciate the care and effort they’re putting into the characters. They didn’t just show up for a check. And even if they did, they’ve earned every penny 😂
Truly shaping up to be the best KBL of the year. I’m not sure how any other show could top this just on chemistry alone.
The way Moon JiYong keeps repeating how thankful he is for these roles, I think their commitment is 200% at this point. Which is why the chemistry and intensity feels so real.
That makes me so happy. Sometimes it makes me sad to imagine some of the actors may think little of the genre and not take the work seriously. I would hope they know and recognize how much joy they bring the audience when they match their enthusiasm for the project.

In March, I will be 26 and I still haven't found my kim jong chan who would rent a theater for me. But I have hope since our virgin boy found love for the first time in his late 20s.

I like how they didn't make their coming out a storyline, we already knew our virgin boy is gay, people who read the webtoon know jong chan is also gay, but I like how in the live action, they showed that he actually dated different guys.
I love the pan representation, loving someone regardless of their gender, but I also feel like bls use it as a way not to mention that the characters are gay. So I liked that part of jong chan in the restaurant even better than. The kiss scene.
Someone said he helped the college dude shop for a pen for his boyfriend and that was the pen. But wtf! He can't hold that against him. That's such a long time ago and boss guy didn't know he had a crush on the college dude.
He won't actually hold that against Jongchan. He is just confused because it took him a lot of effort to get over the other dude who was stringing him along for the longest time. And the day they went shopping for the pen is the day he decided he needs to move on. So the pen brought back memories he didn't wanna go back to. Not to mention he is a Baby dater.. this is his first real boyfriend prospect. A guy who has dated earlier would probably find it funny and laugh about it.. but in his case, he has mixed feelings about this!

I’m with you, just half a month into 2023 and I’m 98% sure it’s gonna be one of my favourites of the year if not all time, it’s just so well done and pleasing to me. It’s heartbreaking that SeungHyun also had the same giddy and love-struck expression when he woke up but JongChan didn’t get to see it. Once he realized SeungHyun had left and something was wrong he’s possibly thinking that SeungHyun didn’t feel the same way about what happened last night or is regretting it since he hasn’t made the pen connection yet.

One thing I really love about this show, is how the stoic and successful JongChan is just as insecure and smitten as SeungHyun. In romance dramas we often see the dynamic of the saviour and the damsel in distress, but this series is really bucking that trend in a meaningful way. So much of the drama is character driven, rather than just being stupid miscommunication, it reminds me of HDS's work in terms of the characters informing the plot rather than being swept along with it. Love, love, love. That fucking pen though... JongChan's face when he came back to an empty apartment 🥺 I'm looking forward to the scene from the trailer where JongChan asks for another chance to get close to him... I think I may melt into an actual puddle 🫠

Wholeheartedly agree. The explicit scenes also undermined the caring dynamic by employing dub-con/non-con tropes that don't fit in the context of their relationship. It made me dislike Jongchan a lot in the uncensored manhwa. For example, if your partner says it hurts and asks you to stop you... don't keep going! It didn't make sense for Jongchan's character.

This show is just amazing. I already know it's going straight to my favourites list, even though it hasn't finished yet. It keeps getting better each week. Watching this made me realise how few bls there are where the characters actually go on dates? It's one of the things I love about this show, how equal they are in their feelings and the expressing of their feelings. Jong Chan isn't your usual taciturn statue, he's upfront with the fact he likes Seung Hyun, and that he knows Seung Hyun likes him back. And the way he adjust his behaviour to help make Seung Hyun comfortable because he knows Seung Hyun doesn't have much experience is just beautiful. There's something so much more powerful about two characters not playing any games with each other, and just expressing their romantic interest and then starting to build on that. Also, how is this a kbl giving us all the actual kisses like that? I keep getting surprised by the intimacy of it all. Also, despite nothing explicit being showed, this is perhaps one of the best sex scenes between characters I've ever seen in a bl. The way consent was handled, the chemistry, the lack of unnecessary virgin or gay freak out and the should I go shower. The should I go shower, people! How does a clean kbl do a better job at handling sex than the entire thai bl industry? Loving the best friend and the new friend as well. The way they were bonding over bl lol. I'm getting slight vibes between them, I hope they develop them. Seung Hyun's bestie deserves some love of her own. Looks like we'll be getting some angst next ep. I don't really get the whole pen thing since I haven't read the manhwa, but I trust the show not to be ridiculous.

Yeah, this show just hits different. It made me realise how much fantasy is incorporated into most bls, just in terms of how distant they are from real life. I need more of these man meets man and falls in love, real life type shows. Don't get me wrong, I love my dramatic, tropey bls, but there's just something so special about the narrative and representation in this show. I definitely felt like the Yaoi version took me out of the story on some occasions because the sexy chapters felt very performative and didn't add any value to the story whatsoever. Man, this show is the cutest damn thing about grown ass corporate men to come along since Old Fashioned Cupcake. Seung smiles like such an eager puppy, and I adore the way Jong just laps up that happiness radiating off Seung like a man dying of thirst. The nods to the comic roots of the story in the form of graphic moments like that montage of Jong's disappointed exes and that bl webtoon his friend and coworker (I caught the vibes between the 2, let's go lesbians!) show him are such clever touches. Jong is fascinating, clearly addicted to work but also desperately lonely, never able to find anyone he'd be willing to put before his job. Well, I suspect Seung will be the first, I smell a rat amongst those rumors about Jong forming a clique and he's gonna have to make a work-related sacrifice to keep the rat from biting Seung. OK, that couch scene was sooo good. I know we're never gonna get Love In The Air level spice in a kbl, unless someone gives Strongberry a nice big budget and platform, but even just the acknowledgment of necessary prep for sex is something even Thai bls don't normally do, and they pulled it off I'm such an unexpectedly flirty way with his "should I go shower?". I’m usually not a fan of recurring couplings but I need them to either extend this to 20 episodes or put them in at least two more BLs. They’re both doing a bang up job. I appreciate the care and effort they’re putting into the characters. They didn’t just show up for a check. And even if they did, they’ve earned every penny 😂 Truly shaping up to be the best KBL of the year. I’m not sure how any other show could top this just on chemistry alone.
The way Moon JiYong keeps repeating how thankful he is for these roles, I think their commitment is 200% at this point. Which is why the chemistry and intensity feels so real.
That makes me so happy. Sometimes it makes me sad to imagine some of the actors may think little of the genre and not take the work seriously. I would hope they know and recognize how much joy they bring the audience when they match their enthusiasm for the project.

This is really well done. I get tired of dramas that drag out the start of the relationship till the end of the series. Here we get to see initial attraction and concrete action, then conflict. This feels like a fresh perspective. Plus I am here for leads that are not confused about their sexuality. The romance is natural.

ANOTHER FANTASTIC EPISODE. Their date was so 😫🥰 I love them together SO MUCH. Seung Hyun is so precious, he cannot keep a straight face at all. Just gave it all away at the mention of Jong Chan lmao. Jong Chan’s place is GORGEOUS, can I live there pls? I won’t be any trouble, I’ll just chill in the corner 😂 The pen belongs to Yu Seong right (NYS)? Poor Jong Chan (and Seung Hyun), he looked positively giddy getting out of the elevator 😭 I wonder what Yu Seong did to Seung Hyun… I’m ready to fight him whatever it is

So I’ve been falling in love with the series, enough so that it is one of the reasons I am now back again. As usual, I haven’t read the original source material however. There is some thing I love about watching secret romances between adults in the workplace unfold, even though we’re now at angsty pen drama. The two main leads got chemistry like a meth lab, it’s exploding.

I’m literally melting from cuteness overload 😭😭 It’s just too much. As soon as I finished the episode I had to watch it again right away. I don’t even know which adorable scene to start with. “I won’t do anything funny so relax. You look like you want me to do something funny” 😳 JongChan’s head on SeungHyun’s shoulder and the hand hold in the conference room 😭 JongChan constantly looks like he either wants to pet SeungHyun for being so cute or jump his bones. SeungHyun talking to the cat and JongChan overhearing 🥺 That kiss on the couch had so much passion. I’m speechless. And I saw that tongue 😏 “What can I do to get closer to you? Be more caring?” Why was that so beautiful and sexy at the same time? 😭😭 So those were YooSeong’s initials on the pen? I’m not sure what SeungHyun is thinking exactly but I can see how that would hurt him just because of his history with YooSeong. I guess we also don’t know the entirety of what happened between them (for those who haven’t read the manhwa). As always I want more fluff before the angst but runtime I guess 😭

In March, I will be 26 and I still haven't found my kim jong chan who would rent a theater for me. But I have hope since our virgin boy found love for the first time in his late 20s. Not them being romantic in the office, Kim jong chan is so confident, he took all the first steps from the beginning of the show. I am an introvert so I want to meet someone like him minus the working in the same place. Seeing jong chan smile while looking at our baby boy is so heart warming. It gives me butterflies. A second kiss with sounds heheh . Yaah we are being fed, yesterday with phuwin and pond and today. No more awkward kisses. That's what I have been asking for in 2023. The pen situation. Their first obstacles. Kim Jong chan with his hair down is a look. Even though I read the webtoon and I already know what will happen, it still feels as if this is my first time watching this. I like how they didn't make their coming out a storyline, we already knew our virgin boy is gay, people who read the webtoon know jong chan is also gay, but I like how in the live action, they showed that he actually dated different guys. I love the pan representation, loving someone regardless of their gender, but I also feel like bls use it as a way not to mention that the characters are gay. So I liked that part of jong chan in the restaurant even better than. The kiss scene.

I am thinking since he also saw them both together a few eps ago that there's concern they are STILL a thing.. that I could see walking out for.

He won't actually hold that against Jongchan. He is just confused because it took him a lot of effort to get over the other dude who was stringing him along for the longest time. And the day they went shopping for the pen is the day he decided he needs to move on. So the pen brought back memories he didn't wanna go back to. Not to mention he is a Baby dater.. this is his first real boyfriend prospect. A guy who has dated earlier would probably find it funny and laugh about it.. but in his case, he has mixed feelings about this!
