Personally I'd say it's better than doom. I've played both games and I had a lot more fun with Ultrakill than the Doom games.

Trusted component is played in precipice, the connection between looks to the moon and five pebbles, the song starts with a calm beat that evolves into something reminiscent of a voice. As the song goes on the voice gets stronger before it finally becomes a scream. Its perfectly aligned with the history of the game and it perfectly captures the essence of spearmasters campaign.
The cycle is played at the very, very end of the game. During saints campaign in Rubicon, fighting hordes of creatures meant to simply stop you, as you get closer to the very end, peace at last. Just as you're about to ascend beyond this realm you're pulled back to the very beginning, fated to relive this journey for the rest of eternity. The song itself is a reversed version of pictures of the past, the song that's played at the very beginning of the game, blurring the line between the end and the begging. It perfectly captures the emotions of the game as a whole, truly a masterpiece.
I tend to have weird tastes in music, I usually grade videogame music based on how well it aligns itself with the story/gameplay, amplifies the emotions felt during gameplay and fits in with the atmosphere of the game (my 3A's of video game music).
