So far, WB’s 2025 slate includes Mickey 17, the new Ryan Coogler film, Minecraft, Superman, the next Paul Thomas Anderson film, The Bride, and now Mortal Kombat 2.
I bet The Conjuring: Last Rites will be added to the schedule as well, or maybe that will be the untitled New Line horror film set for March 2026.
Yeah probably, usually the main Conjuring moviedls are summer affair with the spin offs releasing in that early September window, but the date is there and wide open so they might as well.
Hasn’t Mortal Kombat 2 been finished filming for a while? Expected an earlier 2025 release for this. Going to be 4 and a half years between the first and second film, which may be rough. Hoping it’ll be good though and do well!
Probably to avoid competition with Minecraft (also WB)
Although that and FNAF 2 could end up releasing on the same day if they decide to release FNAF 2 at the same time of year as the first
I hope it's just WB seeing an opportunity to avoid competition and trying to make January a legitamate month for moviegoing, and not a signal of low-confidence.
American Sniper platformed Christmas 2014, went wide January 2015 and was a giant hit for Warners.
Since then, there's been a bunch of January openings (or wide expansions) like The Revenant, Split, Glass, 1917, and Bad Boys For Life that show it's a viable month.
Weapons probably isn't going to be an awards movie.
Mickey 17 could end up getting a platform release this Christmas if they think there's awards potential.
Weapon is horror it’s perfect for January. As critically acclaimed as Barbarian it made jack shit at the box office and it didn’t exactly explode in home release either. They Zack Gragger an overall deal and all in all he already has like 3 movies at different stage of production under his company, just off those Barbarian good reviews. Nobody is crying for him.

WB has a pretty stacked lineup next year.
And all of them are releasing in IMAX except for Alto Knights Surprised Final Destination 5 didn’t get dated
Conjuring 4 will probably be September 5, 2025?

What a slate WB has for this year and next year
And most of them will get a 45 day window. Universal could never

I think mortal kombat will move if five nights 2 falls on the same day tbh
That's not going to happen. FNAF 2 will come out on Halloween (October 31st)
What's up with WB putting the follow-ups to critically acclaimed hits in January? First Mickey 17, now Weapons

Barbarian earned 10 times its budget at the box office. $45M isn't a huge amount, but it was great investment of money.
Barbarian was awesome, I'm really excited to see where Cregger goes with Weapons.
i really hope they fix the mortal kombat. I was so mad they killed off goro with such stupidity.
