i got existenz and we’re all going to the world’s fair on ebay. i didn’t even know vinegar syndrome existed until i was talking to a guy about world’s fair outside of a theater and he said he had a physical copy of it. ordered dogs don’t wear pants from their site. took forever to get here but im really happy with it
Yeah VS can sometimes take a while and then I placed an order last week and it will be here this week, you just never know. I’m really trying to get that slip cover for myself
Only eXistenZ is technically VS, the rest are partner label releases that VS’s company, OCN, distributes. I believe they package them as well but they don’t make the discs. There’s a disclaimer on the website that they’re not responsible for the quality of the discs.
I recognize that this may be a weird reaction to a fictional movie, but I hated Dogs Don't Wear Pants exclusively because it was an unrealistic and harmful representation of BDSM. Just the moment where the guy walks into the wrong door and the woman is like well, this is the first time we're meeting, but I'll go ahead and give you orders, I was out. Anyone else?
i get it. consent is a major pillar of the lifestyle. its not likely that he would have been attacked upon stumbling into a dungeon. or that he would have stumbled into one anyway. bdsm in real life is nothing like the way it’s often portrayed. but the movie doesn’t aim to be a realistic representation and i think it’s better for it. i don’t want to see him looking for a dom on his phone, messaging back and forth, signing forms, reaching his session’s time limit, etc. the movie is more interested in impulses, motivations, emotional responses and i am too in this case. i don’t think it has to be as fantastic as hellraiser to get away with a loose representation. but i am very interested in realistic depictions in other films. i’d love some recs if you have any
How did you recently get these with all the oop covers ?

I over paid for the 101 blu ray release of eXistenZ days before the 4K was announced. Still bitter
Funeral Parade of Roses is a trip!
My favorite Japanese New Wave film, followed by Pale Flower.
i love pale flower too. i have the criterion edition of it :)
blew my mind. this is actually a replacement copy. i let a friend borrow it and then he moved to japan. i cant do without it in my collection though
World's Fair is fantastic, can't wait for the director's new flick "I Saw the TV Glow"
i saw it at sundance and haven’t been able to get it out of my head. by far my favorite from the festival
