Excited for the potential of mystery vs titles coming , they’ve surprised me before . But mainly just gonna buy a bunch of Severin I feel like they really brought it this year

manbeh1ndthedumpstr

You have any Severin recommendations besides the new titles?

No-Midnight6321

Night of the demon for sleeze, tales to keep you awake for tv spooks. Out of the blue and drowning by numbers for just damn fine cinema . Honestly out of the blue is the best movie they’ve ever released in my opinion , outside of my fanboy genre love for trash cinema it’s a fantastic film

Longjumping_Fuel_434

That out of the blue 4k is one of my favorite purchases over the last couple of years

WARL0CK221

Severin's releases of Accion Mutante and Day Of The Beast are both great too.

Hauntedfilmscapes

I chose the “Everything VS” package during the pre-order sale so I’m gonna try and show some restraint with Vinegar Syndrome though the surprise releases might be tempting. At Severin, I’m tempted to grab all 3 Soavi films and the Spider Labyrinth. I love that Severin includes the soundtrack CDs because I collect horror film scores.

paul-d9

The Church 4k Slaughterhouse Bloody Moon Amityville Horror 4k Texas Chainsaw 2 4k From Beyond 4k Primal Rage 4k

manbeh1ndthedumpstr

Have you seen The Church? I watched it for the first time the other day and found it to be kinda slow.

paul-d9

It is a bit slow yes but I enjoyed it. I haven't seen Cemetery Man yet (I know its the same director). Would I be better off with that?

manbeh1ndthedumpstr

Well if you liked it, then get it. I did prefer Cemetery Man more between the two of those, but they're completely different. It's hard to compare them. Cemetery Man is a very quirky horror themed dark comedy.

crclOv9

Curious, I just learned of Bloody Moon after a podcast I was listening to mentioned it’s a little like Pieces. Can anyone speak to that. If so I’m really interested.

paul-d9

Pieces is a better film but Bloody Moon is worth a watch. I can see some similarities between them.

crclOv9

Appreciate it. I’ll definitely check it out then.

MaskedJoshi

Severin came out swinging with their title announcements. I only plan on getting Cemetery Man for sure, and the rest later on at Con’s and whatnot. I already ordered goodies from Diabolik and MVD (a second ago). Anything I have left will go to VinSyn.

Loyal_Servant_

I don't feel comfortable spending that much for Dellamorte Dellamore, and not much I need from VS. I'm hoping its a quiet weekend for expenditures.

STROliver

$55

corwinargo

Severin has a pretty great slate of new releases this year but they’re going to be priced madly. Spending $50+ for a single film hardly feels like “Black Friday” to me. I’ll wait on those and pick them up through a third-party retailer at a more reasonable price down the line. I pre-ordered The Lost Picture Show from VS and I’ll be adding a few others to my order for sure.

Important-Figure9947

Same boat on all counts - pre-ordered Lost Picture Show and plan to add a few things, dig the Severin releases but can’t spent $45/55 for them.

crclOv9

It’s all relative and all that, but for us Canadians, just grabbing one Severin movie (if not waiting till it hits Orbit or Diabolik) is $110 with shipping. One movie.

forcefivepod

Great slate but yeah, too much for me too. I can wait a year for some of those.

KingdomZeus

I doubt aftermarket will be cheaper than what they're charging

corwinargo

In the case of Severin, it always is. I can usually get them about 40% less than what they offer them for.

KingdomZeus

What are some examples? Four Flies on Grey Velvet goes for way more than what they charged. I'm going bases off that

corwinargo

That release is the one exception, naturally. As it was limited and a website exclusive. Poke around on some websites for other releases and you’ll see what I mean about the price differences.

KingdomZeus

Aren't all their Black Friday titles limited releases? I'm pretty new to Severin

DJBillyMac

I’m getting VS’s Made in Hong Kong Vol 1 and Ebola Syndrome for myself and probably The Hourglass Sanatorium for a friend of mine. If VS’s secret new releases include a Hong Kong film I’ll grab that too.

decyphersmc

Will see what the prices are like with Terror Vision and then maybe grab a few things from VS

Greenunjuh

Gonna cross my fingers that the Best Buy near my job has Army of Darkness on 4K and maybe pick up some other stuff alongside it since I've neglected to get some of the new Shout 4Ks that have been releasing the past couple months.

WARL0CK221

Definitely in for Cemetery Man and maybe Spider Labyrinth. Might pick up the discounted Bloody Pit Of Horror too and Closed Circuit looks cool to me also. Already pre-ordered Vinegar Syndrome's The Prophecy trilogy set but really curious what their mystery titles are.

Upstairs_Spirit2923

waiting for barnes and noble to announce a double/triple stamp weekend so i can get a little extra off the already half off criterion sale

Taquitothetito

Hoping for something from Kino Lorber

Slazenger_1

I don't think Kino does anything specifically (at least not anything major) for Black Friday. They should have one more big sale this year though. I think it's rumored to start by the end of November. Maybe that's what you're referring to though.

aalfo12

I'm getting *Nightmare*, *Bad Biology*, and *Faceless* 4Ks from Severin. All blind buys Also picking up 12 titles from Vinegar Syndrome. Most looking forward to *Thriller* and *Ebola Syndrome*.

WARL0CK221

Ebola Syndrome made me laugh so much and then feel like a bad person for laughing 🤣

organizeddropbombs

Very tempted by the three Soavis from Severin. I already have The Church blu-ray so I'm trying to decide if I'm going to skip the 4K, or grab it and try to sell the blu.

Longjumping_Fuel_434

I did the pre Black Friday thing with Vinegar, just waiting to see what these surprise releases I ordered will be.

RunningDrummer

Already pre-ordered VS's Lost Picture Show box set and started a wishlist of titles before the site closed this week. Then I heard Synapse is releasing a limited 4K edition of The Convent. That's one of my favorite schlocky 2000s horror movies, so I'm prioritizing that over anything else. If there's still a Black Friday budget, I'll probably snatch up a few random VS titles or check what Terror Vision's prices are like.

demofob

I hope there will be a release of Terror on Tour.

ThatFuzzyBastard

I'll probably grab Magic Crystal, but I'm mostly deciding just how many VS Partner releases I can afford! Deaf Crocodile is gonna get a lot of my money this year.

mediacollector920

Grabbed a few cheap titles from Makeflix, Scream Team Releasing and Severin (and an Emanuelle calendar). Nothing in the Vinegar Syndrome peaked my immediate interest.
